Miscarriage trigger warning
- Missed miscarriage at 15 weeks. My week started with a light pink discharge, turned to brown over the course of a few days, was told nothing to worry about which I understand. This turned to red blood Friday afternoon.
- Second night in hospital. Can't sleep and waiting to pass my baby. Had the medication at roughly 2pm 11/01. Still not passed through.
Can anyone offer guidance ?
Unfortunately it’s a waiting game which is why I opted for the surgical option. Can you ask whether that’s an option for you now? I would imagine not if you’ve already taken meds. P.s there is a miscarriage thread on here if you want support, so sorry for your loss 💕

I am 6 weeks pregnant today so I am going to sit myself quietly in the corner. I know it’s very early days but this is my 4th pregnancy in 9 months and this is the furthest we’ve got ❤ feel like today is special.

40 weeks today. Baby is quite happy kicking away and not showing any signs of emerging soon 😩 midwife gave me the information on induction to read through on Friday as my trust recommend inducing at latest 41+3. Of course she still has ten days to make her appearance before that but I feel a bit deflated.

You absolutely do not need to be induced at 41+3 unless there’s a reason to. I wouldn’t induce until 42 at the earliest.

I’m so uncomfortable as she’s a big baby as well so I’m just considering everything at the moment. I think I just feel deflated because I’ve had a great pregnancy all things considered and it’s like the last hurdle not being textbook has thrown me a bit. Of course I know that’s silly but I just feel like I’m letting her down a bit not being able to do this last bit of it “naturally” or “properly”.

You have plenty of time yet for baby to come naturally so try stay positive. Get out kerb walking if it’s not icy where you are or walk up and down your stairs. But if you do have to be induced in the end you’re not a failure. I was induced at 42 weeks with my last pregnancy and they basically said due to his position he was never going to come naturally. Nothing I could have done at that point.
Also, you really won’t care how baby got here when they do get here and you’re so close to that now!

still a bit icy here. I’m bouncing on my ball like my life depends on it 😂😂😂 also trying to seduce partner as sex seems to be the most recommended way to get things going but he’s having none of it 😂

Try your very best to forget this idea. There is no properly. It’s a lie that “women’s bodies are made for this” that’s why childbirth has historically been so dangerous. The weight of expectation and what we’re led to believe sets us up for failure and it’s so unfair.
We have medical advances that allow us to get baby here safely for you both and while you don’t need to accept these without consideration or be strong armed, there is no shame in assistance at all xx

The problem is pregnancy has become so medicalised we get this idea that things should be textbook when reality there's so much natural variance. If you haven't already, I'd listen to the Great Birth Rebellion podcast that have an episode on the exact situation you are in along with all the research so you can read for yourself and make an informed decision.

I saw a TikTok of a woman walking in one heel and one flat shoe to try and simulate kerb walking!

A wander on the beach is another great way to get things going. Fresh sea air, calming wave sounds, uneven ground and a place to have some positive thoughts (or let some negative ones go)
It’s also my favourite place so gets the oxytocin going as well for me 🌊

please my partner already thinks I am insane when I’m 5 minutes overdue and I’m insisting on doing all sorts of crazy stuff 😂😂😂😂

Thanks ladies for the kind words - to be fair my midwife so far has been very supportive and chilled about all my choices, she wanted me to go off and research ahead of my appointment next week so we can discuss what the next steps will be. I’m not sure what to do but I’m going to properly look. I’m not really afraid of any excess pain but I am afraid of forceps/vacuum and shoulder dystocia (I blame one born every minute for this).
I just hope she gets a move on and comes of her own accord but she’s been a fairly lazy quiet baby in the womb so I don’t think she’s in a rush 😩😂

At 40 weeks I had ZERO signs of labour and was a bit jealous of people saying about pains and other signs they were having. 40+2 my waters went when I bent down and 18hrs later my baby was here! It’s so hard not to feel deflated/like nothing is happening/compare to others signs, but just try to rest - nap as often as you feel like it, and eat whenever you are hungry!!!! The moment it all starts you’ll thank yourself for the energy 💪🏼❤

Not sure if anybody is from the North east in here but where do you all look for prams? Nowhere seems to stock them in store these days other than Smyths toy shop. I want to physically see and try them before purchasing online etc
Where abouts in the North East if you’re happy to say? We went to Mamas and Papas, John Lewis etc and “test drove” a few different prams then bought them online for half of the price 😂

I was the same. No signs at all on my due date. 40 + 2 days at 6am and I had my first contraction.

Forget 99% of what you’ve seen on one born! Lots of back birthing, excess intervention and drama for no reason (it’s a tv show after all!). I used to love it but since having babies of my own my eyes are opened to how unnecessary most of it is. Don’t let it freak you out x

With my first i had my first contractions the day after my due date i can remember it vividly i felt off all day. Liverpool were the early kick off on the tele that day and so we went to my mum and dads to watch the match at theirs and i ended up going up and lying in the bath for a bit anyway thought nothing of it went home and made the tea and then when the Jonathan ross show was on about half 9ish i got my first contraction and nearly rolled off the couch 🤣 she was born at 40+4 and has never been in a hurry her whole life unless its to get some sweets

I am in Durham but I am happy to travel a little - Newcastle etc.

This is my plan! Test drive then order online, it's so much cheaper it seems!

Hi all, I’ve been dipping in and out of this thread throughout my second pregnancy, baby boy number 2 was born yesterday afternoon after contractions started at home Friday night. We’re home and doing well. Another epidural and all the gas and air, both were amazing 😂.
My advice for kickstarting labour…allll the sex! Tried everything else but literally did it, then an hour later my contractions begun…sorry TMI 😂

Oh congrats! 🥰

i’m 37 weeks now and for the past few days I started having nosebleeds. Apparently all pretty normal but for someone who never had a single nosebleed in my life it’s pretty scary waking up at 3am to a bloody face, fingers and entire bedding. My poor husband almost ran to get a hospital bag when I woke him up to get me some tissues, he was probably convinced the baby is almost here. 😅

For the past week or 2 I’ve been waking up at 3-4am unable to sleep and I’m wondering if this will also be baby girl’s natural rhythm when she’s here.

i still hope she waits until February, idk why I hate my january due date so much, but idk if I can do this for another three weeks. I’m definitely not having fun anymore.
