if it makes you feel better, I was super slim pre pregnancy and gained over 4 stone. I lost 2 stone within the first 6 weeks and was comfortably back to my pre-baby weight after 9 months and absolutely no effort! I definitely could have lost it quicker if I’d tried, but knew I’d want a second fairly quick so couldn’t be arsed!
I agree, my weight dropped so fast after I gave birth due to stress, exhaustion and having no time to eat 🤣🤣

I’m not very big at all 5’3 but really petite so if I put on weight it’s obvious. I’m only 8 weeks but I feel humongous. I know it’s bloat but my bits are so heavy and uncomfortable. 😣
Also I feel like tit from morning sickness and I’ve had the most insane appetite so I feel I have sod all control of my body.
I am really paranoid about my boobs as I’m 28G and I’ve always hated how big they are and now I have to accept they’ll be gigantic 😓
I’m trying to accept that there is nothing I can do and to try to be healthy and accept my body will change because I’m growing a human.

On the flip side I think my husband is excited that I’ll have even bigger bits and maybe now an a and something more to hold on to 🤣

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone and an extra hi to folk from the TTC thread. Honestly wasn’t sure I’d ever make it here 🤣

Thanks for all the hints, tips and responses ☺ I think an early pregnancy scan will help me and my overly anxious mind. I’m guessing they can’t see too much as it’ll be really teeny tiny? My Flo pregnancy app is now saying I’m 5 weeks pregnant with a epic sesame seed of a collection of beautiful cells hanging out in my body, but I thought the ‘5 weeks’ would start tomorrow. Who knows?!
Congratulations!
I had the exact same cramp feelings and was worried and had a scan at 6 weeks and saw a heart beat and gave me some peace of mind

If it helps you I’m a 38F and my boobs haven’t got noticeably or dramatically bigger - yes when milk comes in they are swollen etc but they didn’t get huge when pregnant and mostly not they just feel huge rather than looking that different

Ok I’m clinging on to this! And thank you. It’s definitely more the heaviness than they being massive. This gives me hope x

I had posted a little while back about possible labour incoming and since have been a little occupied with baby mashedbanana!

Born at 40+4 (with absolutely no signs until bloody show at 10pm the night before she arrived!) and after almost 24 hours labour in total. My birth preference was minimal intervention, but after being blue lighted into hospital with a potential hemorrhage after being sent home at 2cm dilated 4 hours previously and 2 hours of pushing, I was offered either c-section or assisted delivery. She arrived at 100mph after an episiotomy and ventouse which actually hasn't been anywhere near as bad as I was expecting 🙈

Struggling with milk supply at the moment as we're ve been combi feeding but she is a little cracker and I've never felt so many emotions and so much love for anything in my entire life!

Morning chums, can I ask about supplements? I will be getting higher strength folic acid as soon as the prescription is ready and I’m taking vitamin D. I was taking a wild number of supplements for the last 4-6 months for PCOS but I’ve stopped all of them except folic acid and vitamin D. Anything I should consider? I know vitamin A should be avoided taken as a supplement or anything topical, haven’t used tretinoin in a really long time!

Thank you!

I just used pregnacare which midwife was happy with. Obviously this has folic acid in so not an option with you getting your script, think as long as you are taking vitamin D + folic acid it’s all that is recommended officially.

My diet is and was pretty poor so I liked having the other vitamins and calcium and some iron as well although I pretty much gave up the daily vitamin after the anatomy scan because I kept forgetting, and my iron has always been fine at the routine checks. (Plus iron causes constipation which, during my second trimester, was the bane of my life).

I’m still pregnant if anyone’s still interested (40+5) with another sweep planned tomorrow 😭

21weeks + 3 days here, anomaly scan tomorrow. Anterior placenta, no feelings whatsoever yet and a little concerned despite what the internet and other moms say about it always coming later. Really thought i’d have felt something by now so praying tomorrows outcome is positive and things are all good 🫣

I was putting the bin out today and the smell nearly knocked me out… even the unpleasant symptoms of pregnancy are so reassuring after last year.

I had an anterior placenta with my first and didn’t really feel anything until around 24 weeks, so unfortunately yes it can seem to come a bit later 😭
Hopefully all is well at your scan tomorrow !

I’m taking D3, Omega 3, Magnesium (cramps) and Iron (prescription because it’s been low in the past two months) and will now also start with probiotics. I’d never been taking any supplements before pregnancy so I feel extra good now but I swear it’s all a meal on its own 😂

Did peoples morning sickness change? Suppose I need reassurance I’m 8 weeks
I’m absolutely exhausted that hasn’t changed, still feel hungover and a bit sick plus painful bits and needing a pee all the time 😭my appetite is also insane but I’m being picky with what I can eat.

Week 7 was the worst for feeling queasy but that seems to be better. Plus between 5-7 weeks everyone stank but luckily that’s subsided.
I wouldn’t say my morning sickness is any better but just different. I just want to know if this is normal?

I’ve had two consecutive miscarriages and just past the dates I had them. I’d say my morning sickness is much worse this time x

I guess it's time to post here. I'm 9w after going through IVF last year. I had some bad days during holidays due to some bleeding and was put on bed rest. This week I'm back on my feet and have been feeling so much better.

The only thing you absolutely need now is folic acid. I take 5mg a day. Vitamin D won't hurt. Have enough food with iron.

Does anyone find it difficult to enjoy scans? One part of me is excited to see the baby but it's always overshadowed by knowing they could find something devastatingly wrong and by the time they confirm everything is OK the scans over so I feel like I don't get to fully enjoy it. Does that make sense?

I think what doesn’t help is when you see them on TV and they are really romanticised, but the reality is you’re lying there in a cold room with your belly out wanting to pee, after having waited for ages in a boiling hot waiting room for at least 15 mins past your appointment time, squinting to see the monitor while a sonographer who’s on her 10th patient of the day is natutrally somewhat bored and going through the motions, you don’t get that really clear image and the heartbeat that you see on TV - AS WELL AS the all the worry you describe above. Or maybe that’s just me!

Right!?! Why are hospital waiting rooms so insanely hot???

Spoke to my GP, was supposed to be talking to him about blood tests ahead of private fertility treatment but instead I was telling him I was pregnant! I’ve literally never met the guy, only ever had telephone appointments but he is the loveliest and he seemed so happy for me. I’ve self-referred to the midwifery team and they’ll contact me around the 8 week mark. It all feels a bit more real now.
