I’m so sorry if this has already been asked and answered I have scrolled to have a Quick Look.
Currently planning what to pack for my elective section and not quite sure what exactly I’ll need? Don’t wanna bring stuff I won’t use and then forget someone I will.

Currently planning what to pack for my elective section and not quite sure what exactly I’ll need? Don’t wanna bring stuff I won’t use and then forget someone I will.
I packed and used:
Tena pants/maternity towels
Baggy pyjama bottoms that came way above where my cut would be
T-shirt
Night dress for when the catheter is still in
Crocs
Face wipes
Flannel
Shower gel
Towel
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Hairbrush and hairbands
Spare bra
Charger
Paracetamol
Ibuprofen
Drinks and snacks
Pillow in the car for across your belly on the way home

For baby:
Hat and nappy in a separate bag for theatre
Babygrows
Sleepsuits
Ready to use milk
Blanket
Nappies
Wipes

Dad had a snack bag, spare tshirt, charger and his inhaler. All got used.

We didn’t use anything else I’d packed. I wish I’d had a fan or that cooling spray because I was so hot and sweaty and gross on the ward.

Yes! And if you buy a new longer wire make sure it’s the right usb type for your plug because I didn’t so had to make do with my shorter charger I’d thrown in my “on the morning” bag rather than my hospital bag.

I forgot thin dressing gown on my list.

I’d also spent ages doing my hospital bags and then at my pre op they told me I needed a separate small bag for the morning so they’re not carrying your big bags everywhere with you. In that bag I literally had hair brush, charger, crocs, dressing gown and baby’s hat and nappy. Then Dad went to get the other bags when we were taken up to our room.

Next time I will take a lot less. I definitely over packed but I was going by all the lists online.

My morning sickness has started and it is truly blasting my bits off 🫠😂
Oh no! Hope it doesn’t get too bad. If it feels like it’s more than normal sickness please contact your GP for some antisickness meds, you don’t have to suffer and they don’t hurt baby in any way. The earlier you start the more effective they’re supposed to be.
If you feel like you can’t keep anything down food or drink wise then you may need a trip to hospital for some fluids. Hope it eases soon

Hey guys I’m 15 + 4 and for the last few days I’ve been really itchy on my arms, my stomach, my back and the top of my thighs 😭 I’m a bit worried as it’s quite intense, anyone else have this?
I have my 16 week appointment on Tuesday so I will bring it up then xx

Definitely bring it up then, it can just be normal but it can also be a sign of cholestasis (although that’s usually much further along in pregnancy). My midwife has mentioned how much skin sensitivity changes, moles etc, so can just be totally fine.

Thank you! Yeah I deffo will be, I hope it’s not that 🤞🏼 I really don’t want to deal with more stuff on top of everything atm.

I’m terrified now bloody hell I’ve had enough 😭

Thank you! First day it’s been really bad and I’ve actually been sick, so I’ll keep an eye on it and accept help early if needed!

Try not to worry 🩷 it’s very rare, I only mention it because a colleague had it and wants to raise awareness about it so I always try and remind people it’s a thing! Although it’s a very rare thing. I’m sure they’ll be able to help you on Tuesday

I really appreciate the advice🩷 yeah I googled it and I just had a massive freak out, tbh I just want to crawl into a hole and never come out at this point x

Can anyone recommend any good maternity / nursing bras for larger boobs please ? ☺
Molke are a bit of an acquired taste, but they’re comfy for pregnancy/nursing (hidden behind all the garish ones they do plain black/navy).
Hot Milk can be decent if you fit their sizes - I fluctuate out of being their top size so I tend to live in Elomi Mollys.
For dossing at home I have a bunch of Gratlin ones off Amazon, started off in 2x during pregnancy and immediately post partum when my boobs were huge/leaking and I needed a bra at night ended up in the 4x

For bigger boobs be careful with M&S, they skip some double sizes - I think it’s GG they often don’t do. Would deffo recommend either a Bravissimo fit or at least going on the booborbust calculator.

Good luck! I’ve spent hundreds and still don’t actually love anything 💔

Ah no that makes it so much harder. I thought there was a nut free brownie but not sure.

You could prob have some chocolate if you pair it maybe with cheese or something?

It’s been five weeks for now and I’m slowly getting used to it but I’ve eaten A LOT of brownie !

Thank you ☺

I didn’t have a c section but I had:
- Big baggy T shirts x2
- Maxi dress to wear home
- Thin black dressing gown
- Nighties with buttons x2
- BIG black underwear
- Flip flops
- Bra
- Breast pads
- Maternity pads - I took two packs and needed more
- Peri bottle
- Toothbrush/toothpaste
- Hairbrush/bobbles
- Deodorant
- Lip balm
- Dry shampoo
- Dark towel and flannel
- Mini shower gel
- Face wipes/cleanser
- Pillow and blanket
- Handheld fan
- Snacks and squash/lucozade sport
- LONG phone charger
- Headphones
- Water bottle with straw
- Eye mask
- Plastic bag for dirty clothes

I was in hospital for a week post birth and I used all of this plus needed more clothes/pads etc that my husband had to bring.
The only things I packed which I didn’t use were fluffy socks (it was just too warm - gave birth in June), disposable pants (tried and hated them) and nipple cream.

uhhhgg they do they a nut free one but you have to subscribe to the subscription to see how to do it im tempted, I was thinking buying a some dark choc but the fact I wont be able to have the whole bar will be impossible for me 😂 im 36 weeks Monday so not long left till I will be demolishing chocolate cake after lol
its so hard, but you know what I feel alot better on this diet, I think I was eating more crap than I realised !

I did too. A top tip someone gave me on a different thread was to get your partner to pack your bags with you because it will be him that’s trying to find stuff in them in the hospital for you especially in the first 12-24 hours so it helps if he knows his breast pads from his maternity pads and his face wipes from his wet wipes etc 😁 i was only in for 36 hours from arriving to discharge so I didn’t use much of what was in my bag. If I’d been in longer I’d definitely have needed more.

I’ve just counted I only have 45 days left at work until my maternity starts 🤯🤯 I’m planning on working until 2 weeks before I’m due although I know that could change depending on how I feel but I can’t believe how fast this has all gone. The fact my baby will be in my arms before I know it is both exciting and terrifying in equal measure 😂
