Although, I mentioned the teeth being weaker/delicate gums to my dentist and hygienist and they both said it’s a myth, but then I know loads of people who’ve had teeth problems since pregnancy.
As is they said that, it's absolutely not a myth. Pregnancy gingivitis is well documented around the world, recognised by NHS, CDC..... progesterone makes you more prone. Not to mention the increase in blood volume making gums more likely to bleed. There are even studies into gum disease and poor pregnancy outcomes due to underlying infection.
Frustrating how these professionals spread misinformation.

I know I was really taken aback when they said that as I was expecting them to be like yep, do this, do that to reduce the risk/effects etc. And this was 2 completely separate conversations and they both said the same thing!

How can a dentist say that?! I’ve never had problems with my teeth, never a filling or anything but pregnancy has wrecked them. They so sensitive now, some are wobbly and I’ve had toothache a few times while pregnant. I’m guessing it’s down to the acid from HG as well as the increased blood volume etc. My dentist said it was all pregnancy related and recommended I have a check up every 4-6m while pregnant and after birth rather than my usual once a year

I think I've got a little theatre fan on the way. Been to see a show in London tonight and little miss kicked and wriggled the entire way though, she's never been even half as active as that. And she's stopped ever since the show finished. I'm not sure what she was doing in there though, she was really tickling me at one point I kept having to stop myself from laughing my head off in the theatre 😅

GD came back, all clear! That’s one relief. I secretly had a suspicion I had it.

We went to Ikea today and think the Hemnes drawers + a cot is provably a better way to go about it than getting the £800 odd nursery furniture.

Definitely! We had the long style drawers with my first and put the changing mat on top for a changing station but we soon changed them to the tall drawers because we needed more floor space so that’s something to think about.
We got the other cheaper drawers that look like the hemnes when we went to Ikea one day. Only went for a look but the girl told us that the display ones were going down to £50 so we ended up just taking them!

We need to have a think what to do with the rooms and nursery. Our spare room is currently the office/dressing room so it’s full of the Ikea pax wardrobes. We are probably going to move them into our bedroom, if they fit and change that room back into a nursery.

It’s just stressful to me trying to think of the right decision that also looks the best it can for the price. I’ve seen on tik tok quite a few nurseries with the Hemnes 8 drawers and it does look cute especially if you change the handles to nicer ones as well with the wicker changing basket on top. We’re also going safari themed. It was the best I could come up with for a boy. I’ve seen some really sweet animal stuff.

My tacky princess theme all pink nursery will have to wait. Sometimes I think humanity hasn’t give me the girl I’ve longed for because I’d truly go full gypsy worth it

It’s hard to know what you’re going to need. We didn’t do any themes before just painted the bottom half of the walls pale blue but now he’s moved onto navy, space theme with rocket ships 😂 we painted the spare room a very light grey a while ago so will probably just keep that as it is and set that up as the nursery. I don’t want to set the big cot up until we use it but I’d just like a space for the baby to lay on a little play mat, have tummy time etc. I wasn’t going to bother swapping the rooms about until we moved the baby into its own room but I think we’ll just do it now so it’s done and we have that space for baby things to go rather than craming it all into our bedroom.

I think I’m just destined to only sleep for 1-2 hour stints from now on 😩
I went through that phase too, dreadful, then it moved to
Wide awake at 2 and fall back to sleep at 7 (waste of time sleeping then), then I’d need a nap(like a child) and cycle would repeat. Now it’s stretches of four hours so much better and much better quality sleep too.. I think that 1/2 hours does pass, I hope it does for you too x

Can anyone recommend any good maternity / nursing bras for larger boobs please ? ☺
I’ve got these from M&S - already in the largest size they do (I am a 38d/DD) but they’re comfy and stretchy so hoping they’ll last me through

How are people managing to get their fluids in in the early days please? I feel like someone’s dug me up and the only thing that helps me is a normal Coke and obviously I can’t keep doing that 😂

I’m having a situation 🤣 I want to ideally breast feed this baby, or at least give it a go, BUT when I have birth to my first baby I had covid and was v poorly so it put me off trying with him because I didn’t want to give him Covid or anything!!

but now I feel bad if I breast feed this one because I didn’t with my first 🤣 why does my brain work like this 😭

Ice cold water, soda water (way better than regular fizzy water) or flavoured sparkling water.

Ice in everything! But also you can have a couple of cans of coke within your caffeine limit. Or maybe try decaf coke (gold cans) and see if that gives you the coke fix? There really is nothing like a cold full large coke in pregnancy though!
How are you getting on? I’ve been thinking about you but didn’t want to tag to ask

Coke and crisps was all I lived on during my first pregnancy and it done me no harm, but maybe wreck my teeth!
This time I couldn’t even look at coke, I’ve been drinking orange juice or irn bru. Nothing healthy here! I can’t think of anything worse than drinking plain water. At the beginning I was even having cuppa soups but you don’t want that in this weather! 😂 I love the Starbucks strawberry refresher drink but that’s not too fun on my bank balance! I feel like with HG or just even at the start you need something fizzy. I’ve been having sprite as an alternative and no sugar.

I had my growth scan.. I was referred for one as fundal height went from big at 30weeks to normal at 34 weeks (likely an inaccurate first measurement!) and baby is measuring 5lbs 11oz at 34w6d, which they said is bang on where they “should be” - sounds big to me but we’re tall people 😆
