I’ve just counted I only have 45 days left at work until my maternity starts 🤯🤯 I’m planning on working until 2 weeks before I’m due although I know that could change depending on how I feel but I can’t believe how fast this has all gone. The fact my baby will be in my arms before I know it is both exciting and terrifying in equal measure 😂
I was just trying to work out when to start my mat leave. I didn’t realise I only had 15 weeks left to go and need to tell the employer by then! I’m going to have a chat with my manager this week. I’ve got loads of holidays to take so was thinking of finishing up either a week or two for mat leave but with all my holidays, I’d take the whole of August off.

It’s crazy how fast it actually comes round! I was on my hands and knees scrubbing our floors yesterday. I just want this house to be sorted and clean, but my husband was moaning I’m nesting too early 😂

uhhhgg they do they a nut free one but you have to subscribe to the subscription to see how to do it im tempted, I was thinking buying a some dark choc but the fact I wont be able to have the whole bar will be impossible for me 😂 im 36 weeks Monday so not long left till I will be demolishing chocolate cake after lol
its so hard, but you know what I feel alot better on this diet, I think I was eating more crap than I realised !

The subscription is good - but I got diagnosed at 25w so feels more worth it!

I know what you mean though I wasn’t eating great through pregnancy just having quick easy stuff so I do feel better eating better and lots more veg. I want to try and keep it up after (snacking is my downfall) especially given the higher chance of type 2 but I’m 100% packing some treats in my hospital bag !

I've got 11 working days left in work until I finish for holidays/ maternity leave and it cannot come quick enough!
I'm pretending those 11 days don't equate to 3 weeks because 11 days sounds so much quicker hahaha

So fed up, have ++ leukocytes in my wee again but I just seem to have a constant presence of them. They keep doing a speculum and sending my urine off to the lab and putting me on antibiotics and then urine and swab comes back clear but by the next time they test my urine it’s just rinse and repeat and I’m so sick of it

When did everyone set up the crib? I have no clue when i should do it 🤣
We're planning in doing ours at 35ish weeks, I had my last baby at 37 weeks so didn't want to do it to early and the crib become a dumping ground for clothes hahaha.
I still need to order my moses basket too 🙃

We put the moses basket up in the livingroom when i was 35 weeks, said we’d do the next 2 me the week after, I ended up going in for a growth scan at 36 weeks and coming back out with a baby and no next 2 me up so kinda wish I was more prepared 😂 We had 4 nights downstairs then my fella finally put the next 2 me up when she was 4 days old haha. Tbf our heads had fell off 🤣

Does anyone have any experience with pre eclampsia or being monitored more closely for it?

I had to go to triage yesterday as I had visual disturbances (spots/floaters in my eyes) and I have been waking up with a headache every morning.

my BP was fine, but when they dipped my urine I had protein + and leukocytes (no symptoms of a UTI but said they were sending it off to the lab) midwives/dr was very thorough, monitored the babies, did some neurological tests on me etc and a blood test. I was told I’d be called back in if they needed to see me, knowing I have a pre scheduled appt for a scan and consultant on Monday anyway.

I’ve just looked on my Badger app now and it says my urine was 33.6 (I believe 30 and under is normal for protein?) and they have written a note to say they think I’d benefit from additional BP/urine monitoring 1-2 a week due to mild symptoms.

I’ve been on aspirin my entire pregnancy and I did have high blood pressure with my first, but not until I went into labour. Obviously having multiples puts me at higher risk so I can’t help but feel a little anxious about it now 😬

I had quite bad preeclampsia with first & have it again with now with my second with the delightful extra that it’s affecting my liver, have to go for bloods every two weeks.
am also on medication for my blood pressure. They will monitor you & if they’re not happy at some point, they may admit you for extra monitoring (this happened on my first & I was kept in for 6 weeks until they induced me 😭)

just be sure to call them the minute you have any concerns & keep records of headaches & how long for, floaters - how long for, etc.

don’t worry xxx

I don't. But because I coincidently have/had a lot of symptoms (rib pain, sickness, migraines) I keep a close eye on myself as I worry I'd miss it.
I use this www.amazon.co.uk/AILE-Pressure-Monitors-Machines-Blood-Pressure/dp/B0919T22NQ/ref=sr_1_3_sspa
and these
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BWSCHBTZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title (be aware consuming Vit C can affect results)
When I did get visual disturbance I called in and told the what was going on and my readings, they said I could go in or take paracetamol and give it a while, see if the headache subsided but with a normal BP and the urine readings they weren't overly concerned.

Depends what kind of person you are, i'm not trying to play doctors and I'd go in if I had real doubts, swelling etc but for me, it's helped feel less anxious or second guessing between routine checks.

We put everything up quite early last time, maybe around 35 weeks. Mainly because we have a big dog who likes to come sleep on the floor at either side of our bed so I wanted her to get used to having new things around the house first. This time we won’t bother putting the cot up until it’s time to be used but will probably do the next to me around 36/37 weeks. I’ve already looked out the pram from the cupboard just to see what condition it is in and give it a bit of a clean but will put it away again until nearer the time.

thank you! That must’ve been so difficult being admitted for so long! Hope the medication manages to keep it under control for you this pregnancy ❤

@littlepup they’re definitely useful tools to have if you’re sensible with it! My mum has a BP monitor so I think I might borrow it just to check once or twice a day. Anymore vision problems or headaches/swelling I will be straight in though! Definitely not taking any risks.

Does anyone have any experience with their stomach coning when standing up? Unsure if I need to try and do something different to prevent it. It's really sore in the few minutes after it happens but tbh I'm really not sure what I can do to stop it from happening 😭

What do people take when they have headaches please? So sorry as I’m sure this was asked recently but I couldn’t find it!

kool n soothe patches/cold flannel on my head, hot shower and just standing directly under the water where it hurts the most and an ice cold can of full large coke

Stressing. Now the most pregnant I’ve ever been (39 weeks - eldest was here by now) and still no signs of arrival. Whole extended family are abroad for a wedding in half term (booked before I was pregnant - we were also supposed to be going) so I’ve only got a few days left where my parents & siblings can help with childcare.
My friends are dead good and are all saying they’ll help, but it’s not the same ringing them in the middle of the night as your own mum and dad 😭
