We had a Moses for the living area last time, this time I’ve got the OBaby cradle (2nd hand) as it’s much bigger so hopefully last longer but annoyingly it doesn’t have a hood.
Bed room we’ve got the next2me (2nd hand too) as it’s like co sleeping without them in your bed, I don’t think I ever put the side up last time. I like being able to lean over and feel them breathe and the ease of getting them out for feeds.
New mattresses in both.
I considered having the regular cot next to the bed so there’s no transition when they move to their own room or getting next2me forever (turns into a bed) because my oldest’s sleep went to tit when they left the next2me (we ended up cosleeping they hated the cot so much) but it’s just too claustrophobic being trapped in bed for me.
As long as you have somewhere for supervised night and day sleep it doesn’t matter what type it is as long as they’re laid flat. Some people use pram bassinet (so long as it’s rated for it).
Just remember the Moses and next to me don’t last beyond sitting up by themselves (6mths ish) if they even get to that stage before growing out of them so financially, no need to go crazy imo.
We also have the BB bouncer and Joie Swing but they’re not supposed to sleep or be in them long as they’re not flat enough.
I think we used the travel cot when they grew out of the Moses last time but I’m honestly struggling to remember.
