I will do thank you! I’m already medicated for it and was doing okay but it seems as I hit the 3rd trimester it’s becoming more of an issue x
Ah it's so hard isn't it, for me it's like I'm normally in control of my MH so when it gets bad I think I get a bit more down on myself even though it's out of my control! I hope you start feeling better soon x

Ok guys crazy spiral here. A couple of weeks ago we had a scan and baby’s measurements were all on point other than the abdomen circumference which was 5 days ahead. I just saw a video online of a woman who had that at a scan much further along and apparently this can be a sign of gestational diabetes 😖😖 now I’m panicking about my diet and having a huge overweight baby.. arghhh! I’m 20 weeks tomorrow. Husband is 6ft4 and I’m 5ft11, I’m on the overweight BMI thing but I think it’s bull (I lost 4 stone last year and was at my lowest weight ever and still considered overweight even though I was comfortably in a 12-14) so I’ve not been caring too much til now.. sorry this may seem really ridiculous but has anyone got any reassuring stories about measuring ahead?
Just here to say the measurements are bull. Had scans every 2 weeks through this pregnancy and was told every time that baby was measuring on the 90th+ centile and to expect a whopper. Had 2 GTTs because they were convinced I had it (ethnic + BMI + “measuring big”)
She (it’s a girl!) is now 10 days old and is still teenier than her brother was at birth, she was born on the 48th.
If they can get it that wrong with a million extra chances to plot data then they’re almost making it up if they’re basing it on the two routine scans.

I've finally started reaching out to nurseries after realising this time next year I'll be going back to work with nothing in place yet for our LO.
I've been told none of the nurseries in my little town are any good and if we did want to keep it within this town then to go down the childminder route.
But for some reason that terrifies me even more?!

One nursery in the next town along that seems to be recommended lots is already £65 a day with plans to increase that as of September this year 😱
These prices really are astonishing aren't they.

The prices are horrendous, ours went up between booking our eldest and starting him, then went up again the month he started 🫠
Definitely have a look at tax free childcare as if you’re eligible it means ‘only’ paying 0.8 of the bill yourself as the gov pay the rest. Well unless your bill exceeds 10k a year, which it might on full time 😵💫 as that’s the max they top up to - we do term time only/4 days a week and it cost us 7k for 2023.
And then there’s the funded hours as well, although who knows what’s going to end up happening with them.

If they’re terrible OFSTED rated, bad staff to children ratio etc that’s one thing but otherwise have a look for yourself. Not having the biggest garden or best equipment can put people off when it’s the staff that make or break it for me say.
Don’t forget your free hours coming in soon too. For my LO we’ve had to pay until they were 3, this time we’ll have free hours from 9 mths 🙌🏼

Definitely have a look round some nurseries and get a feel for yourself I would say. I’ve just looked at 4 nurseries for my baby due in July and the ones that came really recommended I just really didn’t like! They were either a bit scruffy, or there was no manager there just young staff etc. The one I’ve gone for ended up being the cheapest (still £55 a day like), was the cleanest, had a reasonable number of babies in the baby room even though legally they could cram 21 in etc. As another poster said people see and look for different things so you might be pleasantly surprised

Sorry to put a downer on the thread, did anyone else mental health take a dive in the 3rd trimester?
I didn’t make it very far into the 3rd trimester before baby came unfortunately, but I found as the pregnancy progressed my mental health did suffer. I was always afraid to admit it through fear of seeming ungrateful for the pregnancy but you can be struggling and still be incredibly grateful to be carrying your baby at the same time. Please, if you are struggling, reach out. Whether it be through friends and family, online forums like this or through your GP. There is no shame. And you must take care of yourself as priority. Sending love to you xxx

Can anybody else just not sleep on their left side because of pain? Every time I try to sleep on my left side it causes so much pain in my left hip and lower back which doesn’t happen when I sleep on my right side but I feel guilty not being able to sleep on my left side when it’s optimal

Don’t feel bad, either side is okay. I toss and turn all night as I have so much pain in my hips. I get quite bad bursitis in them too and my left is always worse than my right x

I have lots of hip pain in both sides due to arthritis so I feel you 💖 I agree, don’t worry too much. I’m finding my pregnancy pillow a lifesaver. However having been a side sleeper my entire life I keep finding myself waking up on my back! So weird!

also, I have this, which is really good

This little one really is doing her best to turn me grey before she arrives. After she went on movement strike Tuesday/Wednesday resulting in my hospital trip, she spent all day and night Thursday having a full blown rave combined with multiple gymnastics routines, was pretty quiet yesterday and very very little today.
How am I supposed to learn her pattern when she goes from one extreme to the other every day at the moment. Make your mind up please kid I don't enjoy being this anxious 🙃

I never reallllly had a routine with her movements when I was pregnant. She always seemed to move a lot when I ate, and as I was going to bed on my side. I never counted movements or anything or learnt a pattern it just got to the point where I knew she was moving and I could definitely tell when she hadn’t moved for a bit. I’d say around 28 weeks it was constant and obvious when she hadn’t moved

Me!! 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ I have a problem with my hips and always slept on my front so I’ve obviously had to change that! It only hurts on the hip touching the bed. I’ve resorted to sleeping on a soft pillow under my stomach and hip and it’s helping!
Try put another pillow at your knee/ feet to take the pressure off your hips too. I’ve bought this on Temu, waiting for it to come. I fully wake up and have reorganise the pillows when I need to move so I’m hoping it will help cushion and stay in place. Definitely will take some trial and error to find what will work for you

The only real notable routine I’ve figured out is that the baby is most active 1-3am lol which is sooooooo sleep friendly 🤡 but I feel like they’re just all over the show

26 weeks and baby has been pretty active and have felt her for a good 6 weeks or so. Super quiet in the day, small wriggles if I’ve just eaten then we have an hour or so of a full on party in the evening. So I’ll take that as my pattern setting!

Same! I get sone movement in the morning when I get to work and then it’s quiet enough for the day. As soon as I get into bed at about 9, it’s full on party time! I was able to get videos of my stomach moving last night 🥹

I’m being told the timing of movements will play out when he’s born so looks like I’m having a night owl 🦉 which I’ll take over an early riser haha
