When did everybody meet their midwife? I know her name but so far no contact whatsoever! Booking appointment was done by community midwife, 12 week scan by hospital, got to go in at 15 weeks as they couldn’t do the Down syndrome test due to baby’s position and that’s being done by the hospital. 20 week scan is due to be done by hospital.

should she be messaging me, should I be messaging her? Feel like we’re destined to never meet 😂
16 week appointment but you generally never get the same midwife. My 22 week appointment was someone else and I’m due my 28 week appointment next week so will see who it is next time. With my first I had the same midwife for the first couple then it changed to someone else, it’s never the same and I don’t have any number to contact a specific midwife.

Anyone else not had particular pregnancy cravings other than intense urges for a random food or drink item on the day? I’m trying to fight the urge to go and drive 25 minutes to our local cinema just because I really like their fountain drinks and I made the mistake of thinking about them 😂

Yes! People keep asking me if I’ve had cravings and it’s not really been like “ooh I fancy cheese right now” it’s been like particular fast food or restaurants items. Like I NEED a Joe and the Juice sandwich for lunch. Nothing else in the fridge will do.

When I worked at McDonald’s when I was in sixth form some guy came in on the phone to his pregnant wife and she was bugging him asking him to make sure he got her a Big Mac dip which was a special dip on at the time and he got so fed up with her begging that he said “duck it, I’ll just buy her the whole box then” and he bought one of our entire boxes of Big Mac dips from the back of the restaurant. I can’t remember how many were in there but he spent about £30 on them lol

It’s always the most obscure items I crave too too.. like a pasta king pasta pot I had for my school dinners in 2009 🫡

I find a food I can stomach, buy it for every meal and then my tastes change 😭

Baby brew is still super quiet. I've felt a few faint little moves but no big kicks/punches/prods.

With random food, I woke up a few weeks back in the middle of the night absolutely desperate for a box of mince pies of all things 🙃
Next thing that randomly overtook my entire thought process for a day was butterscotch angel delight, so I picked some up the next time I went shopping much to my OH's confusion, but it's been in the cupboard untouched ever since.
Then there was yesterday when I nearly had a mental breakdown over my cheese being out of date. Went out and bought some more and as soon as I got home I just didn't fancy it.
Whyyy hahaha

have you tried having a full large coke or something just to see if it gets her moving a bit more to give you some peace of mind? Don’t hesitate to go back in again if you need to though, it isn’t worth you worrying if you don’t need to ❤

I've had a fizzy lucozade, not sure if we're allowed those or not but never mind. Now I'm sat slouched on the sofa she's starting to have a good wriggle so feeling a little more at ease now

I find music helps get them grooving too! Or when my dog is on my lap.
Wait & see, the minute you’re ready to fall asleep they will be Michael Flatley moving 😊

I just told my OH she's finally started giving me some little kicks, he put his hand where I pointed and she instantly stopped and switched to the other side where he wasn't feeling 😆 cheeky little sod.

I was blasting some tunes in my little home office room earlier, even got up and had a right dance, twerked and everything, I don't think she was amused I got no response back 🤣 she probably stayed on strike for a bit longer than planned just to punish me for my awful dancing haha

Cold full large coke, jam on toast, playing music to my bump from my phone and doing some jumping jacks got my baby moving when she was in there lol

I asked mr B to bring some golden syrup porridge pots home as last time I had that she turned into the karate kid judging by the size and amount of kicks I was getting. It was either the porridge or she was kicking off at me for watching Married at First Sight 😅

She’s definitely gone into hiding with the shame of your twerking attempts 🤣

Especially considering I had to hold the door frame at the same time so I didn't topple over or get stuck in a squat position unable to stand back up 🤣🤣

In my area it's a bit like being registered to one doctor within the surgery, you don't actually see them, you see who's available.
Scans are always done by obstetrics sonographers. Antenatal appointments by community midwives Your antenatal appointments - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
I've seen the same one 3 times this pregnancy coincidently because I book my appts on the same day of the week, but it's uncommon and the midwives you get in the hospital aren't the same ones either.
I had 3 over the duration of my labour because they came on and off shift.

Does anyone have experiences of what to expect of maternity care during junior doctor strikes? Worried as my C-sections was due to be brought forward and now clashes with the strikes.
Pretty well managed during strikes . Each level of juniors doctors ie F1 / F2 , SHO , Reg has to be covered by a consultant . Some elective c sections I know have been cancelled in past strikes as they need to keep it free for all emergencies
