I also have and like the purflo pillow! I did also consider the babymoov one but just ended up with the purflo one after purchasing at the baby and toddler show recently!

40 week appointment went well - she's fully engaged, heart rate perfect and FH exactly 40 cm ✨️ we love a bang average baby! Declined a stretch and sweep bc I feel like it'd undo all my efforts to be relaxed and just let labour come when it comes. Midwife was lovely about it and said it probably wouldn't work if I was tense anyway 😅 will probs continue to decline them for that reason. Induction will be scheduled by 14/12 if she decides not to show up 😬

Really struggling actually. We’re still in hospital as he’s so wee. He’s amazing though. So much fun. Unfortunately one of the midwives woke me up yesterday morning to tell me we could go home, to then be told we couldn’t. I was just a ball of rage yesterday. Waiting on weighing to see if we can go home today. Not sure what to do about my near exploding boobs either.
I can sympathise, I was in hospital for 11 or 12 nights before birth and 3 or 4 after. It is long & draining but worth it. Praying to avoid that situ this time

Ladies who are a little further along, what pregnancy pillows do you recommend?
I used a dreamgenii pillow with my first which is in the loft ready to be used again. Like most things from my first pregnancy I got it severely reduced in the Mothercare closing down sale 🙈

Just popping in from the new baby thread as I was sorting my freezer out today and came across a random batch cooked meal from months ago and it prompted me to write here 😂
The one thing that saved my a and I CANNOT RECOMMEND MORE is to batch cook freezer meals before baby gets here! I started just cooking one extra lot of meals a week at about 32 weeks. By the time baby arrived we had about 4 weeks worth of food in the freezer and then when it started getting low I would do a batch cook once a week to top it up. For me, it wasn’t until about 12 weeks pp that I felt like i had the time or energy to start cooking again so it was a life saver to have them! Don’t forget to make sweet slices and cookies for the night feeds either lol.

I planned to do this with my first and just didn't 🤦🏼‍♀️
We survived on a lot of takeaways. Thankfully it was the first lockdown in COVID and a lot of restaurants started doing takeaway to keep their businesses going so we got decent food and we justified it by saying we were supporting our local businesses in a difficult time 🙈

I definitely plan on batch cooking more this time around, we've got a much bigger freezer now which helps 😆

A few family members dropped off home cooked meals for us to put in the freezer when we had our first and it was amazing!! Hoping they do it again but will defo be making the effort to do some myself beforehands too, especially for my toddler so at least she eats well!

Our freezer broke 3 weeks before baby came (landlord wouldn’t replace it either until he came out to look at it but was on holiday at the time) so we couldn’t batch cook 😂

luckily it was when gousto were doing the free boxes so we managed to get two weeks of those then we had some lovely friends who bought us deliveroo/Uber eats vouchers as gifts, it was soo appreciated and probably one of the best gifts ever 😂

With my first on the night we came home my fellas auntie dropped us off a roast dinner and it was amazing. Then my mate came a few days later with a big portion of pasta, also amazing. Then another friend came with a tesco meal deal, equally amazing 😂 Think everything just tasted unreal because I was sleep deprived. Hoping with this one there’s also some food dropped off 🤣 it’s such a good present for when you’ve just given birth. Nothing tastes as good as the toast after birth though

Such a good present and I’d much rather something like that than an outfit etc for the baby 🤣🙈 makes such a difference in those early days

Oh sorry me again, I’ll shut up after this but the other one piece of advice i think is worthwhile is try and use cloth wipes as much as possible (even if you’re not using cloth nappies). We use cloth wipes all the time from when we are out and about and haven’t had anything remotely close to nappy rash whereas pretty much all by mum friends who just use wipes have experienced it with their babies, also saves money too as wipes are expensive!!

Second time pregnancy here, had an emergency C-section with my last. Only 10 weeks but the bump is coming in and it’s really odd, like I’ve got an internal belt above the CS scar creating a kind of overhang. Has anyone had this, will it smooth out? Did it ache around the scar or anything?

Going for the NIPT this week as I’m 41 so aware there are some risks, just 🤞🏼 all is well. Had an early scan to establish dates for the blood test, can’t say window to the room was impressive so I’m also 🤞🏼 the blood draw and test is all ok.
I don’t know how these influencers breeze through with “meeting my baby today” when they have scans, the whole process is just anxiety for me!

I’ve got cloth wipes but haven’t started using them yet as we’ve been given so many packs of wipes as gifts! How do you use them, do you prewet them all or wet as you go?

I personally just wet them as I go, I have a tub I fill with warm water. I like him to have warm cloths instead of a cold one haha but I know people just fill a jar with water and cloths at the beginning of the day and just take one out as they go along through the day but honestly it takes no time to do it each nappy change! I know some people also add oils to it too but I’ve never done it and haven’t had any issues with just plain warm water!

Has anyone here ever had an emergency caesarean at full dilation?

I kinda feel really annoyed at my body that I didn’t know this was even a risk factor, but apparently it’s quite a “rare” occurrence to have a caesarean at 10cm and it puts you at risk of preterm birth with subsequent pregnancies, due to potential cervical trauma?

Due to this I’ve been referred to the preterm clinic and told I’m currently at intermediate risk for preterm birth with this pregnancy. I’ve since been researching why this is and have kinda freaked myself out with the statistics. I’m so happy to be pregnant with baby number 2 but I had absolutely no idea this would potentially be a problem ☹

Thank you! What about when you go out and about?

I had one at 9cm dilated. No one ever mentioned the risk of preterm labour to me for my second and my (current) third pregnancy BUT I have opted for elective sections and they usually do those at 39 weeks so maybe it wasn't deemed an issue.

hmm strange, I’m not sure if it’s got anything to do with because pushed for 2 hours before too?

All I was told is that apparently you’re at higher risk of your cervix having been damaged and it could be weaker for subsequent pregnancies. They don’t officially have my answer but I decided early on I will be opting for an elective section this time. Apparently the preterm clinic will measure my cervix so hopefully they are just being extra cautious and it will all be okay! ❤

Has anyone on here had an opted c section?
My first labour was horrendous and nearly ended up with emergency c section and I'm really considering just an opted c section for this baby but only thing I'm nervous about is the healing when I'll have a baby and a toddler
