The last few days I’m waking up with awful pains in the top of my thighs.. doesn’t matter how long I’ve been lying down, after an hour or two it’s there… anyone had this? I’m lying on my left side as much as I can and not moving much in my sleep as what I was now I’m the size of a whale!

@CallMeHollywood how are you doing?

@kayefeluu20 happy due date!
Really struggling actually. We’re still in hospital as he’s so wee. He’s amazing though. So much fun. Unfortunately one of the midwives woke me up yesterday morning to tell me we could go home, to then be told we couldn’t. I was just a ball of rage yesterday. Waiting on weighing to see if we can go home today. Not sure what to do about my near exploding boobs either.

I had this and have only just gotten rid of it - pillow between knees and a hot water bottle placed basically by my a kept it at bay for me. Unfortunately I also have to move every couple of hours throughout the night. Could try a duvet under your sheet to soften the mattress/skin contact? It's the worst pregnancy symptom I have, so I completely sympathise 💓

I got this when I was first pregnant. Before I did a test it was one of the first odd things that made me think I was. Throughout pregnancy I have had bad sporadic leg ache at night which is normal I think. Sometimes at the top of my thighs around my pelvis too.

I think the last week or two I’ve been having some braxton hicks as well. I’m 32+3. When I was in hospital last week they said I was showing as having uterine contractions on the monitor. This was the whole time I was there (4days). But the doctor who sent me home in the end said sometimes smaller women do show this constantly throughout 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry to hear you’re still in hospital. Just think though, soon you’ll be home with your little one and enjoying Christmas.

Ladies who are a little further along, what pregnancy pillows do you recommend?
I got a cheaper version of the Babybub pillow as I’m a side sleeper but roll onto my back a lot. I’ve found it very supportive, it keeps me on my side, it’s fully adjustable and it doesn’t take up too much space in the bed! I got the one with a large pillow that you can add in to put between legs as you get bigger and need more pelvic support.

Did you buy a pump in the end? Hospital should be able to let you use one too actually (if you want to of course)

Oh the sore boobs is the worst, I cried the whole day when mine were rock hard! I hand expressed a little bit to try to ease it but it didn’t touch the sides!
Hope you get to go home soon!

@CallMeHollywood ask your midwife if you can use their electric pump, they should have pre-made sterilised bottles and a special fridge to store the milk in (if you wish to BF of course). Sorry you’re having a rough time with baby, I ended up staying in for 5 nights and couldn’t wait to get home!

No, I didn’t have time. I can’t be bothered to even try at the moment. I just want to go home and no one is telling me anything.

Morbid as it sounds, it’s good to hear the stories of people who haven’t had such a good time. Thanks duck x

Yeah, sounds like you've been in hospital absolutely ages, you must be exhausted :(

Thanks ladies. Not worried about it taking up the whole bed because I’ve kicked Mr R in to the spare room because of his snoring 🤣
