when does everyone plan on putting their car seats in the car? i don’t want to put it in too early at all in case of having an accident and then the seat being deemed as unsafe but now my due date is saturday i don’t want to be stuck somewhere without it and end up going into labour. arrrrggh
I think we put it in about a week before my due date just to make sure it was in and ready - however, if whoever's driving you home is good under pressure you could just carry it to the hospital loose in the boot and they could fit it in the carpark the day you're allowed home! As long as you leave the hospital with baby in the car seat that's all that matters 😊

We just had the base in a couple of weeks beforehand, and practised putting it in and out (HILARIOUS how long it took us that first time vs now 😂). We left the base in and my husband was going to come back and get it (he had to come and feed the dogs anyway), I was in for 5 days so not a worry but he would have just popped back anyway as we’re only 20 mins from the hospital.

I’ve told both sides we want to spend the first Xmas as a family of 3! We will be spending the whole day in our pjs, watching Xmas films and enjoying our new baby bubble! She will be about 4 weeks at that point! We will see my family Xmas eve and his family Boxing Day. We are all entitled to do what we want, never mind anyone’s opinion on it.. it’s a big deal having a new baby!
For those due before Christmas, what's your take on what to do for the festivities? We usually have a really busy Christmas of driving to my parents for dinner and then driving straight to my OH parents for tea and we are usually out of the house from 12pm-9/10pm. Our baby is still going to be so young at this point so I don't particularly want to drag them out all day and it's also the issue of being in other people's houses when baby needs to nap (where will they sleep?) And still navigating feeds and nappy changing. I feel like I'm going to be so stressed out so I suggested us having people come to us instead (we have a very small family) but already my parents are saying for us to go to them, even after I've said we'll host at mine. I think I would just feel so much more comfortable at my own home where I can put baby down safely for a nap and pop into another room to feed and nappy change etc but I'm being made to feel like I'm being awkward and unreasonable 😔

Looking for some advice regarding GP bed rest sign off. I absolutely hate work right now (not promoting me in the department due to baby but that’s another story), and my PGP is getting really bad. I already work from home, so can I justify not working if I’m signed off with bed rest, which is highly plausible? Don’t really know how it works. Has anyone had to do this? Btw, Im not a jobsworth, and if they’d sorted out my promotion six months ago, like they said, I wouldn’t feel like this - I used to love work.

Got to 12 weeks today and bam the insomnia last night was something else, and the hunger this morning - my snack drawer at work needs restocking! Any good ideas for (quiet 😆) snacks at work? I’ve been chomping my way through cereal bars at the moment.

Bump is measuring 2 weeks behind, first issue we've encountered with her size so far. Currently 34 weeks and 4 days, she's measuring at 32 weeks by fundal height. Have a growth scan next week anyway so a referral wasn't necessary. Did anyone experience similar and found the growth scan measured different?

Dried fruit? I ate a lot of dried mango in the first trimester (can't stand it now 😂). Easy peeler oranges are my current fav. Yoghurt covered raisins! Pregnancy has made me basically a fruitarian - been v weird with meat all throughout and am 29 weeks now so if you're looking for savoury options I'm afraid I can't help 😅

Yes, not with this pregnancy (yet) but with my first h the fundal height would say she’s behind then the growth scan had her at the right size for her age. Fundal height is wildly inaccurate IME but obviously that’s just my experience!

Yes! I can’t remember how many weeks I was, possibly 28ish. I was measuring 2cm behind too and went for a scan the next day. All measurements were fine, baby was following the 50th centile with no issues.
My midwife did tell me at the time of measuring that it is a very inaccurate way of measuring fundal height but it’s just something they have to follow! 🤷‍♀️

I'm the same I've completely gone off meat 🤢

Pregnancy has definitely turned me into a snack queen! I've been having a lot of flavoured nuts from aldi (peanuts so they don't really crunch too loud), satsumas and bananas, dried fruits (aldi also do dried mango which is cheaper than other supermarkets), dates, hummus and dippy bits, and peanut butter and apple slices. Also been suffering from constipation so really trying to up my fibre haha and snacks help.

And I sometimes get pms like chocolate cravings so chocolate buttons!

I don't know what it is, honestly 🥴 from the moment I found out, I've been off meat. It's been better recently but honestly our diets sound very similar. Carrot and cucumber sticks, satsumas, bananas, apples, blackberries, I've been all over salted peanuts as well! I do miss salami though.

woke up this morning at 39+3 with the worst upset stomach, looks like i’ll be living near the toilet for today 🥲 i am absolutely shattered

Hopefully you get some rest today. I’ve read that this can happen before labour starts ❤

Yes I carry neat! I’m only 24 weeks now but I bet I have this issue again. Growth scans showed she was fine and she was born a healthy 7lbs at 39 weeks.

I had to be signed off with bed rest from 12-20 weeks with a really bad virus. GP had no issue with it but if you’re not already seeing a physio they might send you that way first. I really feel for you my PGP in my first pregnancy was horrific and really spoilt that time for me it is so draining being in pain all the time. The other thing to check is your work’s maternity policy-depending on how far along you are they could potentially start your maternity leave even if you don’t want them to!
