Hospital bag question again 😅
What are you all wearing yourselves coming home? My mother is telling me to get Harlem pants 🤔 I honestly just planned on pjs 😂😂
I intend to change into clean maternity leggings/jumper before I go into hospital and just wear those to come home in (nothing worse than having too much stuff in your bag when you are bed bound!!). At my last appointment I seen a very respectable lady leave in her pjs and I thought well if she can do can I! After all I’ll probably get straight back into them when I get home.

Well at 40+4 my waters broke at 8 AM 😊 still not in Labour and it’s 9pm here so I’m in hospital over night for anti biotics and will be induced in the morning if it doesn’t start during the night. My literal whole birth plan out of the window haha. I did get upgraded to the expensive private hospital though as my hospital were full and it became apparent I couldn’t have a water birth anyway (the private don’t do water births for some reason).

I wore PJs, but it was my 5th day in and we didn’t leave till gone 10pm. Honestly just wear whatever you feel like, I had so much dirty laundry by the end I picked the only clean pair left 😂

On a separate note, I’ve resigned myself to the fact my work aren’t going to offer any enhanced pay, despite my (clearly not very) persuasive arguments. Frustrating given I left a job with 6 months full pay, amongst other benefits, for this job which had a number of better development opportunities that also haven’t materialised, but hey ho. Does anyone know how tax/NI works with stat maternity pay? Or how I can calculate what my realistic take home will be?
I'm a tax accountant - assuming your only income is your employment and that you have been taxed correctly up to when you go on mat leave then you won't pay NI or tax on the SMP as it's below the threshold for both. I've made quite a few assumptions though so don't hold me to it!

I hope everything goes well, fingers crossed you'll start labour overnight but if not hopefully the induction makes things progress quickly - and hooray for the upgrade!!

Yes to both! I hoped it wouldn’t be taxed as it’s so low anyway, that’d just rub salt in the wound tbh. I’ve buried my head in the sand about it all really but now I’ve come to terms with it, I’ve realised how much of a struggle it’s going to be!

Just been diagnosed with my second UTI of this pregnancy 😒 and been prescribed antibiotics that are apparently unsuitable for the third trimester. So that's great. Lack of sleep is making me a grumpy cow today and that's just the icing on the cake 🙃

What have you been prescribed? I had UTIs constantly my entire pregnancy and had cefalexin on and off and then continuously from around 30 weeks

Just when I start to enjoy the pregnancy I get a day like today and I'm clung to the bed. This exhaustion is indescribable, myself and partner are off to NYC in a few weeks and I just hope I don't waste a day in bed

I’m 35 weeks today and have insatiable hunger. Whatever I eat I still feel hungry after it. Clearly my stomach still has space to expand 🤣🤣

Nitrofurantoin? I think I was on cefalexin last time (I can't remember tbh) so I'm not sure why they've changed it, I'll have to call the surgery and see if I can speak to someone. What a faff 🙃

I wore comfy maternity joggers and a jumper. I walked out with my very fetching partially inflated piles cushion because all the speed bumps and potholes on the way home were not the one 😂

when does everyone plan on putting their car seats in the car? i don’t want to put it in too early at all in case of having an accident and then the seat being deemed as unsafe but now my due date is saturday i don’t want to be stuck somewhere without it and end up going into labour. arrrrggh

I think I had mine in a couple of weeks before my son was due just so we had time to practice getting it in and out. It was during lockdown so was only using the car once a week to do a weekly shop so never considered about an accident.
