Did anyone find carbs helped them with morning sickness / nausea in early pregnancy? Been eating so much bread and pasta this last week and no sign of vomiting (apart from the mac and cheese lol) but other than that; sickness free - is that normal?

Did you look at the ocarro in person? In my first pregnancy I was stuck between the M&p ocarro and uppababy vista but when I viewed them both in person the one of two thing that made up my mind was the basket size, ocarro was tiny compared to the uppababy vista.
Don’t want to be negative but just incase you hadn’t looked in person and were expecting it to be bigger than it actually is 😊
Yep, seen it in person and it’s right for us. Wouldn’t drop that much money without doing so.

I found eating in general helped, and it happened to be carbs as meat made me want to vom so badly (sad times). Can’t actually remember many specifics, but I remember eating lots of chips and buttered bread 😂

ETA I had about two weeks where I was sick every day, but I found if I was sick, then ate something relatively plain/dry, it would keep the nausea at bay for a lot of the day.

Yes plain carbs. I love chicken but couldn’t stomach anything that was considered protein

Hahaha yeah that’s me right now! One look at meat and I’m like trying my best. But bread, chips and mash potato yummo. So I wonder if that’s all helping me this week without realising as I’m 8 weeks where the HCG should be high to start making me puke haha. I see my doctor today for my ultrasound results! Woohoo

Made it to 24 weeks. That’s a huge relief. I now have 13 weeks until mat leave starts and that’s verrrrrry exciting.

Hello! Saw my doc. She got me to do the flu shot at 8 weeks pregnant. I felt a little judged when I said to her “I’m scared to do anything with injection since I’ve made it this far for the first time in my pregnancy “ but she said all good, it’s recommended”
She didn’t wanna do 8 week scan, next scan is in 4 weeks time. We will do NIPT in 2 weeks time.
We discovered I have submucosal fibroid.
Two things
1/ does flu shot effect pregnancy? (Google says no but your opinion all matter to me)
2/ is the fibroid bad and will it effect my pregnancy and do any of you have it?

thank you so much!

They usually recommend the flu vaccine in pregnancy as the risk of flu outweighs any potential risk in the vaccine, not that there is much risk in the flu jab as far as I’m aware.
I’m not sure about fibroid, what did your doctor say?
Ps I would keep off Google at all costs haha, you’ll always find something bad if you look hard enough!

They’re not going to recommend you do things if they’re not right for you at that stage of pregnancy. Definitely stay off google but the nhs website has good guidance.

1/ I had the flu jab and COVID vaccine when I was pregnant (I think I was about 12 or 13 weeks?) because they're recommended in pregnancy, and I normally have them anyway because of my asthma - it's better to have them and be protected 🙂

2/ They found a fibroid during my 12 week scan, I can't remember what type but I think it was high and at the back so didn't interfere with pregnancy or labour. They should be able to tell you more at your ultrasound and let you know whether it'll affect anything, but it's nothing to worry about 🙂

I know it's hard, especially before 12 weeks, but try not to worry or to read too much into things because you'll drive yourself insane at an already stressful time ❤

Just had my early pregnancy bloods/height/weight. Fainted after!!! think my BP dropped as I'm not scared of needles or anything.

When will my next blood test be in pregnancy so I can be prepared?? !!

When you say early pregnancy do you mean your booking appointment? if so (at least in my trust - Oxfordshire) it'll be optional bloods at the 12 week scan to do the screening for the trisomies.

Kind of! just went to hospital for bloods and other checks, my booking appointment is over the phone in 2 weeks time. I'll take something sugary to have after if I get another one at 12 weeks! I'm only around 5/6 weeks

im exactly the same - had a really bad experience with a blood test once and now always a bit worried about them. I had bloods at my booking appointment, 12 week scan and 28 week scan. I asked at my 28 week if I need to get anymore and they said no, unless I’m iron deficient! I feel very fortunate that my pregnancy blood tests have all gone well but I think thats because i always tell them my horror story of a blood test 😂

definitely take something sugary!! I now always bring chocolate just in case 😆

Yeah, so should just be 12 weeks! And then 28 weeks as person above said. I honestly thought there would be more blood tests during pregnancy (I'm okay with the act of a blood test, always nervy about the results 🥲) but so far I've only had 3 (booking appt, 12 week scan, have 28 week appt this week)

From memory I had blood tests with my first at 12, 28 and then quite regularly after as I was anaemic.

I had bloods at at my booking appointment - around 6 weeks - then at 12. Urine has been requested at all appointments. I keep snacks in my bag constantly, as I’ve had some dizzy spells without having blood taken. Good habit to keep x
