I managed to get a spot for June 2025 and baby will be 16 months going.. Mind boggling but they're ridiculous in my area in Ireland and staff is a huge problem

I managed to get a spot for June 2025 and baby will be 16 months going.. Mind boggling but they're ridiculous in my area in Ireland and staff is a huge problemI wasn’t complaining at all, I was grateful to have gotten a lot of scans as the thought of not having any from 20-40 weeks scared me!
We submitted the registration form so our wee one can go to the same nursery as our son. Waiting to hear if we can get a full time place for January 2025
There’s 3 I want to view and I imagine they will only have a few spaces for little babies as ours will be 3 months by then! Feel mean for wanting to put it in at 3 months but I need to go back to work early and it will only be for one day a weekOur nursery is little and is booked up until the end of 2024Start doing some research at least.
Honestly I’d get viewing sooner rather than later, hopefully you’ll be fine anyway but just in case, nothing to lose from getting it sorted earlier. If you can change from Mondays, I would as most bank holidays are Mondays and you still have to pay for them even though the nurseries are closed.Just a heads up I contacted 8 nurseries and only one will take her one day a week. Now that is golden knowledge. Are there any preferred days from mum’s pov? I’m thinking Tuesday and Wednesday for our guy.
Wednesdays are a good day to go for-they seem to be quieter for some reason (I think a lot of parents who go back to work part time take Wednesdays off as if breaks up the week).
I’m thinking a Wednesday or Thursday, I think when I go back to work I’m going to take Monday and Tuesday off and just work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday to start off with and an occasional Saturday
My mum said she can have it on a Friday and hubby can on the Saturday and I’ll bring it with me on the other day it won’t be in nursery! (Hate saying it but gender is a surprise so not sure what else to say)

I put my son in for a Wednesday morning when we were paying for him to go. Then when he got his 3 year funding we chose M W F afternoons. If I was paying again I'd do the Tuesday and Thursday to break the week up a bit and to avoid paying for bank holidays. Some nurseries allow you to swap the bank holiday sessions so you aren't losing out on money but it's usually a first come first serve basis and depends on availability.
The one place that will take her one day a week said no Wednesdays something about if they have kids there 5 days a week it skews the numbers and takes up a place. We’re going for Tuesday or Thursday.

What makes you think you might be? If you have any health concerns you can speak to your GP, midwife or a pharmacist for advice

One of the nurseries has replied to say they don’t have any baby spaces until august 2024 so that one’s out! I never knew it would be this stressful
