25 week midwife app went nicely. She told me to book in for my flu vaccination as soon as possible, if I wanted it, as there’s a rush on at the moment. So if you’re planning to get it - book in!
I booked my flu vaccination in July when boots released the early bookings. Had it on Wednesday, been feeling a bit achey and nauseous 🥲
Got my Covid booster booked for next week, hopefully I’m recovered a bit by then!

Warning - mucus plug questions…

I’m 39+3 and had a sweep on Tuesday when I turned 39 weeks. The sweep was fine and the midwife said I might experience some spotting.
Ever since Tuesday I’ve had sporadic thick discharge, sometimes brownish or pink. Can you loose your mucus plug gradually like this??
With my first pregnancy, I lost it in one go on the morning of the day I went into labour.
I’m feeling very heavy and low too.
I was 1cm dilated when I had my sweep but I think this is quite normal for a 2nd baby?
Thanks in advance for any replies! Sorry for the details!

Yes! I was exactly like you on baby 1-lost in morning of and in 1 go but I’ve a friend who lost hers over a week or so. The day before I went into labour I felt as if I wasn’t pregnant anymore-bump was very light and I could move easily again (it was very strange). But everyone is different fingers and toes crossed for you

Can anyone relate? I'm 29 weeks and I can't stop feeling down about the fact that soon it's no longer just going to be me and my partner. I'm feeling sad that the chapter of just us 2 is almost over.
Don't get me wrong I cannot wait for our little baby to be here but I can't shake the feeling of sadness when it comes to thinking it'll no longer be the 2 of us❤👫

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary while I was pregnant and we've been together since we were 15, so it's been odd adjusting to all those years of just us and now suddenly there's someone else in the mix! I'd suggest trying to savour moments with just the two of you before baby arrives (date nights, cuddles on the sofa, a couple of nights away maybe) and make sure you both tell each other regularly how much you mean to each other, and reminisce about adventures you've had together. Life now there's three of us is wonderful and we adore our son, but it's very different to before because our priority has had to shift from each other to our baby, and currently we barely get any quality time together which is tough, but we know will be easier when baby is a bit older. I think it also helps to be excited about things you've done/places you've been and the thought of taking baby to do/see those things as it's a nice way to adjust to welcoming them into your life as it is now, rather than feeling you have to stop doing everything you love and being who you are the second they arrive. If your sadness turns into something stronger then reach out to your midwife and they can refer you for support to cope with your changing emotions ❤

Yes and no, really. Every time I do feel a bit of doubt or sadness I just think about how excited I am to see him become a dad to someone other than our cat! It goes away. I think about their first cuddle, her saying dada, him donning the baby sling to go for walks and it feels impossible to be sad for anything we could be missing out on if it were just the 2 of us.

We're both such homebodies so we've been using our weekends to watch nostalgia TV (his pick is the OC, mine is Jersey Shore), eat snacks and cuddle on the sofa. Cramming in time with just the two of us before everything changes. I'd suggest as Pontiac said, try to get some time together to just exist in relative quiet!

Hi! Mine came out over several days, think iirc my contractions started 2/3 days after the discharge/blood. Hope all goes well!

Me too, 13 weeks in with baby 2 and hate being pregnant! (Although obviously grateful). Think it’s worse this time not going into it blind and knowing what to expect.😂

I regularly cried for weeks after he arrived that he wasn’t in my tummy anymore 🤣🥺 Still really miss it, my husband thinks I’m nuts because I had such a hard pregnancy… It’s a feeling you just can’t explain to anyone who hasn’t been there, isn’t it. The best 🤍

I'm the same. Until recently I've had a super easy pregnancy which I'm so grateful for as I know a lot of people have it so tough. I love feeling the movements and knowing that the baby is all cosy and safe in there. As much as I'm excited to meet them I also feel selfish and don't want to share them with anyone else 🙈 right now it feels so special that I have this time with them. Trying to make the most of the next 7-8 weeks even though I'm struggling now. I very much doubt I'll have another baby so this is such a special time for me ❤ wow getting all emotional now, pregnancy hormones 😂

My pregnancy was ok and I’m grateful I got a beautiful healthy baby, but my god it sucked 😂 I was knackered all the time and had horrendous sciatica the last month. I do look back on it as a special, unique time though, where I grew my baby and went off meat for 2 months 🙈 I was happy to have her out because I was so anxious about something happening to her and not knowing but now things happen and I know lol so 🤷‍♀️

Baby Finch has made an appearance! Despite a c-section not being my original plan for birth, I really enjoyed my experience and feel like I’m making a good recovery. I would do it all 1000x over, the love is overwhelming 🥰

Had my gender scan earlier and it’s a boy! Although I’m not convinced 😂 it looks so much like the umbilical cord rather than boy parts 😅
