so sorry love ☹ hope the scan and results give you some positive answers!
Thanks so much chick, she is wriggling away here now and I'm feeling a bit more positive and know I'll be in the best possible hands! Think it's just been a long (almost) 37 weeks lol but hopefully not long for the both of us now! X

People should just get the fact we’re irritable / sensitive about certain things 😂 I’m getting more irritated about people asking me about my 20 week scan and whether I’ll find out gender even though I’ve said repeatedly NO, we want a surprise. It’s next week and I’m actually thinking about leaving messages unread and phones put on silent.
Honestly, I did that with my twelve week. Because we thought we were twelve and we weren't, we told people. Then we had the scan and had to go back for a second. But people knew we had the second scan and on the day I just muted my phone. Couldn't deal with the messages and requests for pictures. I'd say do it, honestly. It's such a private thing and I get people are excited but it's about you primarily.

New to this thread - 6 weeks pregnant with my first baby! 😁 what’s everyone’s thoughts on when to
tell people? My husband feels very strongly about not telling ANYONE until the 12 week mark post first scan. I am so excited though and just want to tell people, especially as we were trying for a while.
Congratulations! Maybe go for an early private scan and see if he feels a bit more comfortable telling people after that? We told our parents, siblings and best friends as soon as we found out but did wait until after 12 weeks to tell everyone else

Pregnancy is such a wild ride, isn't it? Got my 20 week scan next week and I'm back to panicking and worrying 🙈 I've probably felt the baby move three-four times in the past three weeks - twice was flutters and once was more like proper kicks but I keep thinking I should be feeling them more? I keep telling myself that it's just the position they are in but I'm also barely showing and thought I would have "popped" by now. I'm anxious for next week but also can't wait to see if everything is okay 🤞
All completely normal with your first, the flutters will get more frequent and you’ll get more kicks soon. I didn’t pop until about 26 weeks with my first. Normal to be nervous for the 20 week scan but try to enjoy it when you’re there, it’s incredible the detail you can see. xx

Just got my blood test results back. 1/505 down Downs and 1/5000 for E and P’s. Trying to decide whether to have a private test done.

I’m 8 weeks and have my 1st midwife appt (UK NHS booking in)

this afternoon I had a tiny streak of red/pink when I wiped at the loo.
Nothing further since.
I know that spotting is either “normal” or “alarm bells”

Panicking. Please send good vibes
I had this and obviously panicked. I bled for about 4 days and rang the hospital, they told me to get in touch with my GP and they referred me for an emergency scan. They were marvelous and luckily my pregnancy was confirmed as okay. It's always best to get anything like this checked out so definitely give your GP a call and then you can go from there.

I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and I'm so over this, I just want my baby here!

I always feel daft for moaning as I've been really lucky so far and had a relatively easy going pregnancy but nothing prepares you for how bloody tiring third trimester is. How I long to get out of a low chair without grunting like a sweating pig. Or feeling like a sweating pig in general 😂

Does anyone have any experience of having a transverse/oblique baby? Mine still has plenty of time to move but she's basically been head down diagonally for weeks now and hasn't budged at all - I'm going to start doing some exercises to see if that will help her move but just wondered if anyone had experience of transverse baby in later stages of third trimester

silly question really but anybody had a 'gut' feeling from the beginning that the baby was definitely a boy/girl? this baby was a big shock but as soon as i saw that positive test I've only been able to see a boy! i am trying to also vision a girl so if i'm wrong i'm not 'disappointed' but even the few people i've told (not 12wks yet) have also told me they think it's a boy.

am i just odd ladies help me out :ROFLMAO:
Yeah I think mines a girl and loads of people have said to me they’re getting girl vibes!

I’m 14 weeks today can’t believe how quick it seems to be going🙈 scary!

Anyone else cry to their partner/husband about the 1st trimester morning sickness and exhaustion?
🤰👋🏻👋🏻 ⬅⬅⬅⬅
I’m sad becuase I’m supposed to be happy but I just feel so sick and tired.

I know people will say “women have been doing it for millennia” but I’m pretty sure it’s only modern women who’ve had to maintain a 40 hour week and commuting whilst batting morning sickness and pretending to be normal
I complained for the whole 1st trimester. I was sick, tired and just felt downright miserable. I spent many nights crying that I didn't want to be pregnant anymore if I continued feeling like that. Pregnancy hormones had me totally screwed up in the head.

Thankfully by week 14 I feel relatively back to normal self! Now 21 weeks, found out we are having a much prayed for baby girl and I am delighted and so so thankful to my body for keeping her safe and well 🥰🥰

Hey all, I'm 21 weeks and 3 days and have an anterior placenta - wondering when people who also are in the same boat felt any movement as I haven't felt any. I also don't "feel that pregnant" haven't got a "D Bump". I was a size 12/14 slim waist before and I just look like I have a belly atm which is getting me down a lot as all you seem to see are perfectly round bumps! Mine is more like B with a dip like before I was pregnant but more exaggerated
I am roughly same as you, 21 wks today and was a 12/14 pre pregnancy. I've gone to a 14 now but don't look pregnant, I too have a B belly and just look like I've been eating too many cakes. I felt slight movements last week, but I was sitting stationary at my desk on my phone. I have only felt odd movements since like small faint flutters, nothing like I expected and not noticeable busy in day to day life!

Oh I hope I didn’t come across as flippant “just sack him off”, I cannot even imagine how hard it must be when you’re about to have a baby with him! But it sounds like he isn’t emotionally or mentally supporting you, let alone financially, and you deserve far far more than that level of mediocrity!
Not at all, I’d most likely be saying the exact same thing if it wasn’t me going through it! It’s just deciding what to do about the birth now, I feel really bad about maybe not having him there, but chances are he’ll turn up stoned and wanting to smoke while we’re in hospital which I’ve told him time and time again he can’t as it’s just social services waiting to happen, again causes another argument that he knows that etc.. just wonder if he’s even bothered if he took nine hours to text back about her turning into the correct position and hasn’t text since 🤷🏻‍♀️ Is he just expecting me to chase him and act like everything is okay if I do go into labour and stay here after playing happy families or do I just take him telling me to keep the baby to myself literally 🤷🏻‍♀️😕 really didn’t need this stress!

Hi all, is it normal for breasts to feel sore/tender so early on? (I’m only at 6 weeks) I’m trying to stay away from Dr Google now 🙈
Very normal! It's how I've known I've been pregnant every time because they've been so sore!

Aw hun I honestly really feel for you! I’m only 12 weeks and I’m so stressed about it already, I can’t imagine how you’re feeling! My boyfriends family are the same, they think he’s a golden boy and they know all about his addiction but if he asks to borrow money they’re still more than happy to lend him it. My boyfriend never has money to himself because of his habit and I’m so worried that all financial responsibility regarding the baby will fall on me. He’s always making false promises that he’ll change and he can stop etc but week after week it’s the same. It’s such a draining situation to be in honestly
I think it’s just harder too because I have the two kids already and had to find money for half of everything for the baby, maternity wear, hospital bag etc all while managing having my own place. Baby wasn’t planned either as I had the coil in at the time, so was a Complete shock, but partner convinced me to carry on with pregnancy and he’d be around to support us!

it is so draining! I just can’t deal with how nasty he gets when you bring it up and the way his eyes just dilate and he starts calling me every name under the sun, it’s actually quite scary at times because he gets that mad about it I don’t know if he could control his anger if he couldn’t just run away to mummies.

Omg the bloating in early pregnancy I'd never known anything like it 😂 I was in maternity jeans quite early on because I just couldn't deal with feeling so restricted!

I had planned to work to 37 weeks as I have an office job but I've been really struggling with my energy levels and brain fog, even when working from home, so I'll be going at 35 weeks instead, not long to go now and feel so much better knowing that I'm leaving a bit earlier.

Weird rant incoming:
My husband and I were doing our online antenatal classes last night and they spoke about how some mums catch their own baby, but sometimes the dads do it, especially in waterbirths - which is what I was hoping to have.
After watching the video husband asked me if he can catch the baby. It honestly freaked me out a little. I couldn't explain why other than I knew I wouldn't want someone pulling the baby out, but I'm sure that's not how it works? In the end I said please let me think on it for a moment as I didn't even know it was something that someone could do. He said he would love to do it as he would love to be the first person the baby meets (now I'm going to sound really petty) but I feel like I should meet her first? I did the hard part of carrying her and birthing her?

Am I being ridiculous? I feel like I'm acting a bit stupid about it.

We've compromised and have decided on a quick hello before we settle with just the three of us. I think it just wounded me that he wouldn't consider how I'd be feeling at the time and I felt a little bit like he was being too focused on his parents and making them happy. Probably a hormone thing 😂 it's all resolved and okay now.
My in laws were there when we came home (but asleep in bed as it was midnight!) as they were looking after the dog. We all got up in the morning, had cuddles and celebrations etc and they then left. We didn’t then have visitors or see anyone for 5 days apart from the midwives etc (the 40 degree heatwave didn’t help!). I thought that was a nice balance. Conscious I am very close to them, especially my MIL (I couldn’t have coped with my own mum there). It’s all your decision though! Your body, your rules in the early days.

I can’t believe my little baby is almost a week old! Going to move over to the new baby thread, but will keep checking in here too.

Thought I’d give a quick update on how the section went in case anyone else has one and wants a positive story. I won’t put it under a spoiler because there’s literally no negative, but feel free to skip past if you don’t want to see it.

Arrived at the hospital for 6:45am, was told I’d be second so had a quick sleep while we waited to go down. Went down to theatre for 10ish, cannula straight in and then prepared for the spinal block. It was at this point that I had a little bit of a wobble feeling anxious but the midwife, anaesthetist and my partner all did a good job at calming me down, and I can’t even remember if it hurt or not!

Catheter then went in as soon as the spinal block was ready, which was a bit of a strange sensation as you’re not totally numb but can’t feel any pain. Baby was delivered 15 minutes later - so strange literally feeling the pressure and my stomach deflating as he came out! My partner got to trim the cord and we had skin to skin straight away before they cleaned him up a bit and weighed him. It then took another 35ish minutes to stitch me up, very minimal blood loss (around 200ml which is apparently very little for a section!).

Wheeled back round to enhanced recovery where we got some bonding time as a family. Managed to eat some toast before being sick🤦🏼‍♀️
Then after around 5 hours we were moved to the ward. Partner was allowed to stay until 9pm, catheter out by 11pm so I was up and walking around and caring for baby at that point.

We got absolutely no sleep in the hospital but all of both of our checks were perfect the next day so we were home mid afternoon.

He is an absolute dream 🤍
Thanks for sharing this. I’m dead set in a c section and this has definitely confirmed my choice. So partner went home at night? How are you finding /did find the blood thinner injections when you got home? This concerns me a little and I’ll have to take them for weeks because I’m geriatric 🙄

I noticed in my zoom call today that my face is filling out 😆 should probably tell my manager soon.

Caesarean tomorrow, currently rushing around the house cleaning and tidying like a mad woman to try and get everything as perfect as possible for when we get home so I don’t have to worry about it for the first week or so 🤞🏻
Good luck! I'm booked in for Friday, my mum is currently cleaning our bathroom haha
