Has anyone had any uncomfortable conversations with strangers through their pregnancy? I'm quite a reserved quiet person and the idea of random people in the supermarket talking to me about when I'm due etc makes me feel terrified!! But I wouldn't know how to politely shut down the conversation either 😬

I’m due in 2 weeks but convinced I won’t last that long! Getting strong braxton hicks and like a stitch feeling when I walk now. I can’t remember how I felt before I went into labour last time though!

ok does anybody else think their deodorant isn't cutting it anymore since being preg? I got into bed last night and I stunk like I'd done a 3 day workout. Any recommendations? I know the hormones can change stuff but wow I didn't realise it would make me smell so bad 😂

Amazing 😄 congratulations. All the bleeding ok now?

Oh sorry, not the laughing face!
Yes it was only that one time last week! Think it was just normal pregnancy bleeding 🙈 baby was so stubborn today it wouldn’t get in the right positions for all the measurements for ages 😆

I think nausea is worse. In my first pregnancy I had three ‘states’: feeling sick, being sick, just been sick. Just been sick was bearable for an hour or so. Feeling sick relentlessly is horrible and so draining. I’ve escaped it for the most part this time, although brushing my teeth can trigger sickness sometimes.

We didn’t have any help and I would have killed for some to be honest. It’s surprising how consuming a little person is in those first days, it’s nice if you have people who will come and make you a meal or a cuppa, do some housework to keep you ticking over and make you feel looked after. But, if you don’t really want anyone around you then just say you don’t and get a taxi home instead.
We've compromised and have decided on a quick hello before we settle with just the three of us. I think it just wounded me that he wouldn't consider how I'd be feeling at the time and I felt a little bit like he was being too focused on his parents and making them happy. Probably a hormone thing 😂 it's all resolved and okay now.

Maybe he doesn’t realise that a 1-2 day old baby isn’t going to be able to be “taken off by them” for a while to give you respite. Baby will be on you and screaming and crying, you’ll have your boobs out most of the time! Can’t he respect you wouldn’t want his parents there for that?
I've tried explaining this but he just doesn't get it. To be fair he didn't say the taken off by them thing, that was assumed by me because I'm not really sure what else he thinks they'd help with? He just doesn't want to appear weird or controlling but it's not controlling to want to be alone for a few days. Not a single person on this planet is entitled to our child. I'm at a complete loss 🤷🏼‍♀️

Could you compromise and have them stay for an hour or two to meet the baby and then ask them to leave you alone to settle?
I could, but honestly I'm such a horrendous feminist that I don't really see why I, the person who is giving birth, should compromise? I'll end up compromising for an hour or two, I imagine. But I'm not happy about it.

Urgh 33 weeks now and not sleeping well at all, the insomnia from the first trimester is back with vengeance and my pelvic pain is adding to having to rotate all night.

Also feeling very lonely at the moment, I ended up in tears last night as I tried to have a serious conversation with my husband about the birth and what options we have and what I need from him during labour and he’s always so jokey about everything, making jokes about how he’s gunna be on the golf course or something and it was funny the first time but I genuinely want to have a serious conversation.
I know for partners, nothing has changed yet and it’s hard for them to understand what we are going through mentally and physically at the moment but I’m so full of worry and anxiety, I feel like it’s all on my shoulders to burden and I just want him at least to give me a hug and say it’s going to be ok we are in this together ☹. It’s a very vulnerable feeling.
I’ve had moments like this with my partner where he’s just not taken it seriously, it’s very frustrating especially when you just want some support. He only really started taking it seriously recently when we thought baby was transverse and that it would mean we wouldn’t have a straight forward birth if things didn’t change.

Hopefully the closer it gets to being a reality, your partner will be more supportive and understanding

Hi ladies I'm new over here, hoping this time things go well☺🙏 Just a quick one, my lmp was 2 May, clearblue is saying I'm only 2-3 wks, Flo is saying I'm 6 weeks. First midwife appt booked for July 18th. Does this seem about right? Which am I actually using to measure how far along I am please?
Eta I have late and irregular cycles, I ovulated 29th May.
you probably won’t be able to find out for sure until you have a scan. I went for a private scan when I thought I was 9 weeks and I found out I had ovulated later in that cycle and was actually only 6 weeks. My LMP was 13th feb but I’m currently only 15 weeks pregnant and due December 6th!

Re. weight gain.
Me and my partner have gone on a last minute holiday to Majorca. I’m getting quite sick of people staring, I know I’m probably overthinking it but feel like asking people if they’ve never seen a person pregnant with twins before. Yep, I’m getting big and feeling very self-conscious.

I work with mostly men and haven’t done a big announcement of it so they’re all too scared to say anything to me. I’m 23 weeks with my third and catch a lot of double takes whenever I’m in the office though. 😂
Do you get any comments about having a third?I get the most rude reactions when I tell anyone who asks that I’m having a 3rd. They seem to think it’s acceptable to ask whether it was an accident as well!

Well, I was in a restaurant this afternoon and there was a baby shower there. The poor pregnant lady had some awful friends 🙈 she walked in and one of them immediately commented on how "huge" she looked and another said she was "massive" I felt so sorry for her. They also asked if her baby was measuring big because she was so big etc. It was so uncomfortable to overhear it and the poor lady didn't say anything, just sat there looking gutted. They could have commented on her lovely outfit or anything else but they focused so much on her size. If I were her I would have said "you look a lot bigger since I saw you last too, what's your excuse?" 😂
I met a former colleague for lunch and she told me I looked like I was having triplets. I laughed nervously and she went “no, seriously, is there more than one in there?” :/

We’ve been lucky so far, my friend sold us her egg 2 travel system for dirt cheap, and she’s given us some other baby bits and my nephew was born in September so my brother is giving us loads of bits too! But for the rest I’ve been looking on Facebook marketplace! Baby doesn’t know if it’s brand new or not🙈

Do more people experience this: when people at work found out I was pregnant (very bad morning sickness and all day fatigue) they started commenting about how tired or sick I Look.
I’m quite fed up with it, I already feel rubbish. can’t fit in my normal clothes but also don’t have a belly yet, so I don’t feel like myself at all. Having colleagues telling me I look sick/tired/ bad makes my confidence go down hard!
Definitely. I got told I look bigger every day today. Well yeah I’m a week from giving birth obv I’m gonna look bigger but I don’t tell people they look like they’ve got fatter this week. It sounds so petty but it pisses me off that people think pregnancy gives them a reason to call someone fat!

Yes I’m drawn to totsbots as I think with their nappies being designed for 8lbs-35lbs it’s definitely worth it in the long run! But I’m with you on using disposables for newborns as I know in my case my baby will be in the NICU straight from birth until who knows when and cloth nappies would be wayyy too much hassle 😂 but definitely considering them for when baby is home!
There’s a really good interview with the Nappy Lady here that talks through the benefits. If buy second hand it’s even better. She also has a really helpful and friendly Facebook group. We’ve clothed since about two weeks post birth (use disposables on holiday) and would never go back now!

Back from the private clinic. Baby is measuring 7 weeks+2, not 8 weeks+3. I’ve looked at my calendar and it’s impossible for her dating to be correct but the disparity is odd. Did anyone else have such a gap in dates?

Kinderkraft xmoov 😊
I had a mamas and papas sola pram for my other 2 and I much prefer the kinderkraft!

Another lady in my daughters class has it too for her baby and she said she loves it too!
You should be an influencer 😂 husband and I are completely sold. We can get the travel system plus an actual carseat to take them through infancy for under £500. We were looking at the Joie Versatrax but it's so expensive.

I’m very early (almost 5 weeks) and got what feels like quite mild period pains/cramps. Feeling paranoid and hate that you just have to wait around and see whether it’s anything. So difficult 😩😩
Period type cramps are very very normal
Id say 95% of people at least get them in those first few weeks!
