3rd failed sweep this morning so had the pessary to try to kick start things. Not feeling anything yet, so it may be back tomorrow to discuss next steps 😩
Come on pessary…. i’d heard lots of good things about you!

Had a really tit midwife appointment today. Babies heart beat was quite high even though baby was not moving, it eventually came down and traces of protein in my wee. Have to go back tomorrow morning to be re checked. If anything changes or reduced movements I need to go straight back to hospital tonight. Also had my induction booked and just feeling really tit and worried about it all. 🥲
Poor you, I’m sorry it’s been a rubbish appointment. When’s your induction booked for?

For those of you who had or having c sections how far in advance did you get a date? I’m 38+3 now and they said it would be around 39 weeks but not been given a date yet due to ‘no slots’. They don’t seem to be in a hurry and wondered if this is just my trust or common? Half expecting a phone call to say can you come in tomorrow 😂🙈

My consultant told me I'd find out appointment date around 36 weeks for a date at 39 weeks (ish I suppose 🤣)

Weird rant incoming:
My husband and I were doing our online antenatal classes last night and they spoke about how some mums catch their own baby, but sometimes the dads do it, especially in waterbirths - which is what I was hoping to have.
After watching the video husband asked me if he can catch the baby. It honestly freaked me out a little. I couldn't explain why other than I knew I wouldn't want someone pulling the baby out, but I'm sure that's not how it works? In the end I said please let me think on it for a moment as I didn't even know it was something that someone could do. He said he would love to do it as he would love to be the first person the baby meets (now I'm going to sound really petty) but I feel like I should meet her first? I did the hard part of carrying her and birthing her?

Am I being ridiculous? I feel like I'm acting a bit stupid about it.

Even if he was the person to help pull the baby out, it’s encouraged that the baby goes straight onto the mother for skin to skin. I think it’s very normal to expect that as the woman giving birth!

Does anyone have days where they don't feel pregnant at all? I've gone from having all the symptoms for the last three months to having a few days of nothing and now I'm panicking 🙈

I think it’s normal to feel less symptoms at 12-16 weeks! I’ve been feeling relatively normal (13+4), trying to enjoy it but definitely looking forward to the reassurance of our next scan.

I’m 15 weeks and my symptoms have practically vanished. A few bursts of energy too which can make me forget my current condition for a minute. I still feel quite bloated though, can’t work out if I’m starting to show (twins) or just large. 😆

I’m overdue now and have noticed such a difference in my sleep. Waking up constantly these past 3 days, like every hour with anxiety and night sweats. I really wanted to be rested and more prepared this time round but I feel like I’m sleep deprived already! So annoying 😩

38+4 and been having period cramps on and off all day, keep feeling sick, hot flushes and back ache and generally just feel rubbish 🤣 has anyone else had symptoms similar to this? Want to think it’s the start of something but daren’t get my hopes up incase it all goes away by tomorrow

Consultant appointment went so well today!
He was completely impartial and just explained the benefits and risks to each option available to me without being emotive or trying to sway me, and then asked what I wanted to do.
totally supported my decision for an elective section, should have a date booked in soon! It does mean I’ll have to bring my mat leave forward which I’m a bit gutted about but also so ready to stop working.

Did have a complete breakdown in the car park though because I couldn’t get parked and I was already late and desperate for a wee.

Sorry, I missed this update as things have been a bit of a blur - I really hope the pessary worked or that if not, the gel etc got things going. I'm not on this thread as often anymore but I'm thinking of you ❤

Section date booked for 29th, Mat leave brought forward to 22nd 🤞🏻

stupidly mentioned to my boss who has been a fool all of the way through that I’ve got a section booked and the first thing she said to me this morning was a sarcastic comment about being ‘too posh to push’ 🙃

Delighted for you that you got your section date - the two of us are now on the final countdown! 🎉
I def wouldn't let your boss off with that comment. Absolutely no need at all for it; what does she think she's achieving by saying something that like?!
