How’s everyone doing? After a pretty non-emotional 9 months I’ve spent the entire day today on the verge of tears for literally no reason other than I just feel miserable. Hoping it’s because of a surge of hormones that will kickstart Labour
Honestly!! I wake up and I’m like how is what I’m dreaming not real!!I’ve been drinking the last push! Ordered it on Amazon.
My dreams have been so vivid and insane on and off since I got pregnant![]()
As a one off I’m sure it won’t hurt, and it’s just a reaction after no caffeine for so long! My midwife made it clear I didn’t need to cut it out, just cut it back, so I’m sure the occasional one will be fine! FYI - I saw an article showing Costa cappuccino had 5x more caffeine than Starbucks, so different chains vary but I try and stick to Starbucks now as even 2 would be well under the 200mg limit xxI’ve removed all caffeine since finding out I was pregnant nearly 2 months ago. Today I went and treated myself to a Costa cappuccino and I’m currently wired and feel light-headed. I feel really stupid that I’ve done this and should have chosen decaf, but thought that one cup would have been in my limit and since I haven’t had any, it would be ok. Googled it and a medium cappuccino is well over the 200mg allowance.
Hope I haven’t done anything bad and I’m just a bit intolerant![]()
A Costa cappuccino only has around 65mg of caffeine, so I doubt it'd be over 200mg.I’ve removed all caffeine since finding out I was pregnant nearly 2 months ago. I’ve just read that article on my Google search, silly me. Thanks for the reassuring words but can’t help but worry because I’m all panicky! As a one off I’m sure it won’t hurt, and it’s just a reaction after no caffeine for so long! Honestly please don’t panic! I have one, sometimes two, iced coffees a day (which should still put me at less than 150mg because I usually make them at home with only one espresso shot but still), and I reckon having one strong coffee in two months is probably far better than that!I’ve just read that article on my Google search, silly me. Quoting myself to add a quick sorry because telling someone who’s panicking not to panic is the least helpful thing ever hahaHonestly please don’t panic! Don’t worry! As others have said, even if you have gone over the daily amount (which is unlikely) a one off won’t hurt.I’ve removed all caffeine since finding out I was pregnant nearly 2 months ago. We have cover at the moment for our mortgage and critical illness and such, but now we have children I want the type to have an amount for them if anything happens but I also don't want to talk to a person for this but all seems to be a call back.I think I just used a comparison site, put in our details and went with the quote that offered the most cover for the least money! We took out a fixed amount enough to cover our mortgage, any debts, and would let us take a couple of years off work if needed/go part time around childcare etc. think it’s about £25 a month for both of us, includes terminal illnesses but not critical illness cover (need to sort this tbh). If you have a mortgage and used a broker, they usually have insurance experts who can advise you too, or you can find an insurance broker to help although it might be more expensive!
Can you just increase the cover with your current provider? We have cover at the moment for our mortgage and critical illness and such, but now we have children I want the type to have an amount for them if anything happens but I also don't want to talk to a person for this but all seems to be a call back.
Your first labour can take a while!Has anyone here has latent labour. Started contractions 5am Friday morning. Thought we were getting somewhere at 1am yesterday as they were 5 mins apart last over a minute for over an hour. Midwife said try to stay at home till they’re 2-3 mins apart. I found them really painful but managed. They they went to every 10-12 minutes and now stoped.
I got checked over this morning as I hadn’t felt him and I’m not even dilated. Makes me so worried for how I’ll manage pain when it happens.
Any advice on how long this latent phase can go on for? 1st baby and just so tired of it![]()
I didn’t so no advice from me, but my friend’s early labour started on the Tuesday evening, early Saturday morning she went in and baby arrived Saturday afternoon. She said she survived on painkillers, warm baths and her tens machine (not at the same time!) and the baths especially were really helpful. once you’re in active labour there are more pain relief options available for you to consider. I have a really low pain threshold and found pethidine really helped, unfortunately didn’t get time for an epidural so can’t comment on those, but honestly you will manage and you’ll be so proud of yourself!Has anyone here has latent labour.
