Nearly 39 weeks and really fed up now! Got the worst sciatica and pelvic pain. Midwife today said baby’s head down but not engaged. Packing my hospital bags today and manifesting little one’s arrival within the next week! ✨✨ Asked for tips to encourage labour and she said the only thing is sperm….. couldn’t even if I wanted to, I’m so sore all over 🤣

TMI sorry ladies I dunno how to do a spoiler !

Anyone had any experience of huuuuge amounts of discharge at 39 weeks? I’m having braxton hicks really irregularly and I keep thinking my water is trickling or my mucus plug has come out but it’s literally just so much discharge that it soaks through my clothes and onto my bed sheets🫣 no sign of baby yet either.

Oh the glamour!!

hmmm I did have this around 41 weeks. I thought my waters were going, but the midwives said it was thrush. I was confused because I’ve never known thrush to create watery discharge like that. Maybe ask your midwife? I did read that discharge can increase in pregnancy so maybe it’s just that?

Are you sure it isn't your waters? This is how my waters seemed when they started leaking

It sounds like it could be your waters if it’s a fairly consistent trickle? Maybe pop a pad in and then go down to your maternity unit for them to check? If it’s not then they won’t judge you and there’s no harm in asking them to look!

On a completely different topic, but one for the ones in the UK....where did you get life insurance after you became parents, we've really neglected this as I have no idea where to start!

I think I just used a comparison site, put in our details and went with the quote that offered the most cover for the least money! We took out a fixed amount enough to cover our mortgage, any debts, and would let us take a couple of years off work if needed/go part time around childcare etc. think it’s about £25 a month for both of us, includes terminal illnesses but not critical illness cover (need to sort this tbh). If you have a mortgage and used a broker, they usually have insurance experts who can advise you too, or you can find an insurance broker to help although it might be more expensive!

Hi everyone so just thought I’d pop a message in in case anyone else was in doubt (like I was). I’m 38 weeks, and today baby’s movement have been different/reduced. Not stopped completely but a drastic change from the norm. I ummed and ahhed all day about what to do and finally when husband got home decided to call and the midwives were very encouraging for me to go in, made the decision for me. I went in and even though baby was clearly absolutely fine straight away they were so nice, said I’d totally done the right thing and if I was at all worried again to call back. So if anyone was in two minds about what to do, always trust your gut!

37+2 and I have pain under my ribs but more in my back. Has anyone had this.
Yeh I’ve had this the last couple months on and off, some days it can go completely and others it keeps me up at night. Mentioned it to midwife she just kind of shrugged and didn’t seem concerned said normal pregnancy type pains.

I’m almost 34 weeks and my left side of my ribs have been painful for about 12 weeks but have really ramped up over the last week. I can feel them crunching when he moves around and I think I’ve pulled a rib from the way I twist getting out of bed! Feels like it’s burning/on fire!!

I cracked a rib coughing when I was 38 weeks pregnant last time!! 😑 Is it under your ribs/back at the right hand or left hand side? If it's at the right and it's consistent I'd mention it to the midwife because it can be a sign of obstetric cholestatis, although you would normally have itchy hands and feet (esp at night) alongside that I think xx

Is anyone else dreams absolutely crazy since being pregnant? Its not regular but every once in a while they’re nuts!!

Ideally make sure it doesn't contain hibiscus.
I think Holland and Barrett do or did a pregnancy specific one

I’ve been drinking the hot mama tea final push one from Holland & Barrett as that’s the only one I could find local to me and it’s quite pricy £6 for a box but it tastes quite good x
