Who would’ve thought someone who isn’t carrying my baby could have such an opinion over whether he comes out vaginally or the sunroof!
Wasn’t aware that when induction isn’t working I should ignore doctors advice (and my own gut feeling) & wait to go into labour potentially endangering us both! 🤯
I’d LOVE a beautiful water birth but it isn’t likely to happen. That’s life and I’m glad I’m taking some control back over his birth.
Why are some mother in laws like this??
“the recovery will be horrific” “she won’t be able to do anything” “why don’t you just wait longer”
thank U!! For the support and encouragement dear MIL 🙂🙂👍🏼👍🏼
This makes me so angry! What a cow. I had an emcs and despite the trauma I actually had quite a quick recovery and was up on my feet. The main thing is your bub arrives in the safest way!
Just ignore her. Your body, your baby, your choice.

It’s so bizarre how entitled to an opinion people think they are. I feel like there’s nothing else on earth people are so pushy and weird about.

Did anyone’s amniotic fluid increase by 2cm from 35/36-38/39 week of pregnancy? I thought it only decreased but scan picked it up today.
Sonographer also thought she saw meconium in the waters but consultant said they’re fine.
Now obviously I’m at home concerned that something is wrong for it to increase that much so late on

Any tips on relieving pressure? I’m 35+5 and baby is 2/5 engaged as told by my midwife yesterday and my goodness don’t I feel it! 😂

My MIL is so anti c section but I really don't care what she thinks and I'd be minded to tell her that if I do end up in a position where I have one. All that matters is baby and mum are safe, however that outcome is reached doesn't matter!
Mine doesn’t speak much English but learnt enough to say “natural birth. No caesarean!!!” And I ended up having a c section because that was the only way for my daughter to be born safely 🤷‍♀️ I later found out my SIL had 3 c sections so not sure what her problem was lol.

Having a bit of a rant so putting behind a spoiler so people can just scroll past if not interested 😂

So basically I decided to tell my one close friend that I'm pregnant because she has children so I thought she'd understand and I could chat to her openly with no judgement. Found out today that I was wrong. I have a lot of confusion over how far along I am. The first day of my last period puts me at 11 weeks but my emergency scan put me back to 8 weeks so until my scan in May I have no idea where I am in this pregnancy. This week I've started getting proper nausea that lasts all day. I don't feel the need to physically be sick but the feeling is there of queasiness. I mentioned this to her today and she shut me down and told me I wouldn't be this nauseous this early and that she didn't have any nausea until she was almost at her 2nd trimester so I felt very invalidated. To add to that I've had a particularly stressful few months and it all got on top of me today and I ended up in a full blown panic attack, sobbing etc and then started getting dragging pains in my ovaries and across the middle section between my ovaries. Obviously started panicking more so I'm trying to calm myself down. I fear having a MC so much that it consumes my every thought. I know I need to just chill out but I can't wait for this pregnancy to progress just to know that everything is going okay. Sorry for the rant if you've read this far, just needed to get it all off my chest 😔

I mean everyone is different, but most of my friends and my sickness started between 4-7 weeks, so she needs to stop judging!! It’s so much easier said than done to chill out so please don’t beat yourself up! Would another early scan put your mind at ease?

I'm so sorry you've had such a stressful time 🙁 firstly, your friend is not only rude/unhelpful but also very wrong! Everyone is different but it's really normal to start feeling nauseous quite early on (I think mine started at about 5 weeks) and most people tend to find it tapers off towards 12 weeks, so if anything your friend had the unusual experience! Even if she'd been right, it sounds like she was really insensitive with how she spoke to you - is she often like this or was she having a bad day? It might be worth distancing yourself from her for a bit as she doesn't sound supportive and you don't need extra stress at the moment.

Secondly, have you already had your booking appointment/do you have contact details for the maternity team? I'd suggest contacting them to discuss your stress and low mood, and to ask for a referral to specialist pregnancy mental health support so you can look at talking therapy/medication to support you. Try not to worry about the pains - it could be they were round ligament pains where your uterus is stretching from baby growing 🙂 I hope you can have a chilled out evening and that things feel better tomorrow ❤

Thank you for your kind words 🥰 I think I'll avoid being so open with her in the future. Yes I've had my booking appointment and an early scan because I was spotting for about a week. I did mention to the midwife that I'm a bit of a worrier and she just said to try to practice mindfulness and meditation. My scan is early May so hoping I can feel a bit more relaxed once I've seen everything is okay. I had a lie down and a shower when I got home today and the pains have eased off so hoping it was just nothing. Thank you again for responding, it really means a lot ❤

Thank you for responding ❤ I was considering another scan but my husband isn't keen on the idea as he thinks I'm obsessing a bit (which I guess I can see it from his point too). Up until today I was fine but I think I just worked myself up and since having a shower and a rest I do feel a lot better. No one really talks about how hard early pregnancy can be, as in the viability of it etc so I've just been finding it hard and wanting to get to a stage where I can start enjoying the pregnancy if that makes sense. Like my husband says, another scan is all well and good but if I keep panicking over every twinge then it doesn't really matter how many scans I have because I'll never be satisfied that everything is okay. He does make some sense to be fair to him 🙈 thank you again for taking the time to respond ❤

It's really natural to not be able to relax until later in pregnancy - we wanted to try to put the pregnancy to the back of our minds until the 12 week scan because we didn't want to get our hopes up, but obviously that was impossible and it was all I could think about every day (especially when I was feeling really nauseous and bloated!) - what your husband is saying is similar to what we thought, as we were tempted by early scans but because the first 12 weeks are the highest risk we decided to just wait for the 12 week scan and then relax a bit after that if all looked to be well. I promise things get easier a little bit further on in terms of worry/obsessing, and that time starts to fly rather than drag after a while! It's really mentally draining though, so look after yourself and do the meditation and mindfulness recommended to you when you can to help ground yourself and ease some of the stress 🙂

My consultant shut down the idea of me having a c-section because of birth trauma last week, today my midwife said she’d be my advocate and she’d talk to the consultant and come to my next appointment with me. So relieved!

So sorry your friends being rude. I literally had nausea everyday from 4 weeks to 16/17. I’ve had friends who had no nausea at all. Everybody is different and she shouldn’t be making you feel like that.

I have a pain, almost feels like a pulled muscle type pain quite high up, in the centre above my my belly button that’s coming and going. Could THIS be a sign of labour!? I’m so impatient and every little knock or fart I’m like 👀😂😂

Oh my goodness this is so me. Laid in bed now with lower back pain & I'm like "is this is?!" Yet I've had back pain for blooming ages. Like you say every slight different feeling I'm like oooo this is it, and it never has been 🤦‍♀️🤣
Best tip ive been given is ring triage for advice if needed, especially if the pain worsens or your concerned, and they'll advise you.

Any advice please on what to do with Covid? My partner has tested positive - I’m still negative but not feeling well and this is how it went last time we had it - he tested positive before I did, but I still knew that I had it.

I’m nearly 33 weeks pregnant - should I contact my midwife?

I had covid a few weeks ago and I just text my midwife, she wasn’t concerned at all, not sure how different it is being further along though so best to check?

My friend who is 34 weeks had it last week, she was just told to rest and take paracetamol if needed but call if reduced movements or anything. She was fine though :)
