Just come on to complain really! I'm 30w5d and the lack of sleep/uncomfortableness during sleep is really starting to get to me. I sleep on my side and switch up during the night, but my hips are in agony! I have a V shape pregnancy pillow, put it under me and between my knees and I am just so uncomfortable. Is anyone able to recommend a good sleeping position or is this just me until she's here? 😂
I can only offer you empathy - I had to switch sides hourly in the third trimester- it’s agony isn’t it. When I had my chest infection and bruised ribs I slept on propped up pillows basically in a sitting position as I wasn’t able to lay down. Injuries and illnesses aside, I also slept on the sofa curled up against a stack of cushions. Probably not to be advised but I did find that quite comfortable - especially for naps.

Could you try a mattress topper? Or put a duvet under the fitted sheet to give you a bit more comfort?

I have the same problem with my hips, to take some pressure off I try to lay on my back but in a sitting up position or slightly more slanted in the bed with pillows propping me up. I know we can’t sleep flat on our backs but my midwife said it was fine to sleep with a few pillows as if I would if I was laid on the sofa. I don’t do it that often and often sleep like that but I find it helps take the sting off it they go numb and I get tired then I roll onto a side and fall asleep but that can take me an hour or so of laying on my back to help ease the pain and feel myself dozing off again. Sometimes I have got up as well to walk it off but then I find I’m wide awake

Thanks all - will try these! I'm ready to try everything at this point cause I am so over it! 😂 ❤

Hi everyone, currently in hospital 41 weeks and being induced. I had the propess just after 6 o'clock and been patiently waiting for something to happen since. Anyone else had this and if so how long did it take to kick in for you?

Hello everyone, a little update from my last post. I did indeed go into labour early hours of the morning from the propess. Well it fell out and when I was examined they said I was 2cm and I would need it back in. Then all of a sudden the contractions came on strong an I was 6cm and straight to delivery. Next examination I was 9cm, too late for epidural, baby was in an awkward position an heartbeat was dropping so was rushed to theatre for an emergency section.
My beautiful baby boy was born yesterday weighing 8lb 12oz 🩵🍼
Wishing you all lots of luck in your pregnancies/deliveries 🩷 xx

So I'm starting to really worry I won't know if I'm in labour or just having cramps. Been getting cramps now for the past couple of weeks. Went to triage last week for reduced movements and mentioned them and they said my cervix was closed still and no signs of labour.
I'm 37+5 weeks with my first baby so everything is starting to feel massively overwhelming, like how will I know?!
Currently getting lower back cramping and period type cramps but they don't seem to have a pattern. They've been present like this for about 3 days though now 😫

From my experience the pain will start to escalate and cramps/contractions become more intense and regular. I was the same though with my first - came early at 35.5 and I had an upset tummy, cramps, backache one day and thought zero of it until my waters broke that night 🙃 Either the pain will become more intense and regular or you'll have something else afoot like waters breaking... you'll know, or keep calling triage for advice if you're unsure!

I’m 37+5 today and keep getting a weird pain in my stomach but it’s quite sharp rather than like what I imagine contractions feel like. (Plus tmi sorry and can’t stop going number two). Honestly I’m hoping he’s coming im so done lol

Might be! It crossed my mind when I was going to the loo loads that it might be a sign of labour, but then I ignored it 😆 less than 12 hours later there was a baby in my arms!! I had so many braxton hicks the second time around I kept thinking I was in labour every other day for about 3 weeks though

I'm only 30 weeks now and already starting to feel a bit impatient!!

Did anyone else find it really hard keeping it a secret?? I’m 4+3 and I know I can’t tell anyone but I’m too excited 😆 I’ve told a couple of my friends because they new we were trying, but I wanted to wait to tell my mum and dad when we have the 8 week scan photo but finding it so hard I tell my mum everything!!

You can if you want! The whole 12 week thing is very traditional tbh. I personally told anybody who I would have wanted their support/would have told if it hadn’t gone to plan. It’s entirely your decision who you tell and when!

I’m 1 day behind you and have felt the same but mine have been on & off so assuming they’re just braxton hicks considering my stomach also goes SO tight! It doesn’t hurt but feels so uncomfortable with how tight it is. When is your next midwife appointment? Maybe she can check? Although not sure if they do that at a routine appointment

Thanks I just really want to have a scan photo to show them when I tell them! But I don’t know if I can wait another 4 weeks I’ll have to just see how it goes 😆

We got the keys to our new house today and I feel so overwhelmed. We’ve been looking for more than 18 months and I should feel so happy but I feel absolutely crap about it. We have 12 weeks til baby arrives and a whole house to decorate and move into and actually settle in. There are things I didn’t notice when we viewed (minor things that non pregnant me would defo say I’m being fussy about) but I just feel so overwhelmed and panicky.

Am I being normal?! Please tell me it’s going to be ok 😂 I’ve also spent the morning throwing up which is not ok as I thought this had all stopped!

I’m close to my parents and told them when I found out. I just showed them the positive digital test 😂 I was going away for the weekend for a hen party with my Mum so knew I needed her support over the weekend through the whole “why aren’t you drinking” questions! If you’ve told a couple of friends I would definitely tell your parents you could maybe order something nice online as an announcement I’ve seen a couple of nice you’re going to be grandparent things I just didn’t have time to pull something like that together!

Had my midwife appointment today and baby has shot from 50th percentile at the last appointment to 90th at this. I know the measurements aren’t the most accurate so will wait for the scan before I start asking too many questions about what it means.

Was offered a scan tomorrow but had to decline as we’ve got a night away booked. Woman on the phone was super snotty and made out I was being totally unreasonable for not wanting to cancel and lose all the money we’d paid for the hotel, trains etc. I wouldn’t mind but the next appointment that she offered was only 18 hours later, surely I’m not harming baby by waiting less than a day for the scan??

I don’t think you’re wrong in waiting the extra time, enjoy your night away! If it was that urgent they would have sent you for one straight away. Measurements can be way off! Probably just annoyed she had to look at a different date 😅
