Around 16 weeks for baby no2!Quick question….When did you ladies feel baby’s first movements?
I’m 15 weeks and have just sat down after a manic day and I’m so sure I can feel some movement. This is my second baby and I just can’t remember when it started last time so I’m wondering if it’s baby…or wind?![]()
Hi! I’m 40 weeks with my first, from my experience at my last midwife appt at 38 weeks she booked me in for both my sweep (tomorrow) and induction at 40+5. The induction she was really laidback about and said I can ring on the day and push it back by a week if I want. The sweep I’m not sure but from my understanding you can refuse if you want, I guess it might just depend on the area you’re in and/or the midwife?
ETA I think they’ll let you go to 41+5, from what they were saying to me, and you can go over but it’s not massively advisable. But again, this was my hospital saying this, and I know some have been told other things.
I've had 3 inductions.Had my last midwife appointment today. Didn't get the dreaded sweep and she booked me in to be induced Monday at 41 weeks
I was so ready yesterday for some progression now I'm like omg im not ready for thiscan't win
Does anyone have any tips on induction, I have been induced before but can't hardly remember anything. Any must haves to take with me etc
Thanks for the advice, there's me repacking and packing my bags all weekendI've had 3 inductions.
Be prepared for it to take days, although the further you are, the quicker it usually is.
Be prepared to want an epidural as the hormone drip is very painful compared to normal contractions imo (didn't have the drip with my first)
Make sure you've got plenty of clothes/nighties ect as I went through 4 with my second.
Download some movies/series to keep you occupied/something to do.
Snacks for before you're in labour too as you may be there longer and any chance given, go for walks around the hospital, speeds things up![]()
you can ask them not to turn it up. You can also ask to be given more time before going on the drip. I had to be on a very low dose because of my previous section and I managed to have a successful VBAC, so just remember sometimes they can be led by their impatience and you can always advocate for yourself - a good midwife will listen to you. The one thing I learned between births 1 and 2 is that your care through childbirth is a conversation that you’re allowed to be part of.Thanks for the advice, there's me repacking and packing my bags all weekend
Last time I was induced at 41+5 went in at half 4 in the afternoon had the gel an she was born 6am the next day. Hoping for something similar. Iv heard horror stories of that hormone drip midwives turning it up because nothings happening then people ended up having emergency c sectionsor being allergic to it. basically hoping for the same thing as the first time round

Yep this happened with my first, it was awful and not Braxton Hicks for me! I think they sometimes call it false labour. I was 8 days overdue and it began at lunchtime on the Monday, ended up calling my husband to come home because he worked over an hour away. He got home and called the MLU as they were unbearable with only paracetamol. They told me to get a bath and see how it progressed. As soon as I got into the bath (after about 3 or 4hrs of contractions), literally everything stopped! Didn't start again until the early hours of the Wednesday morning, was very frustrating on that Tuesday. But yes, I'm sure you're close to meeting your BabaWell after thinking this morning I was progressing well contractions stoppedhad my midwife appointment today and the sweep didn’t work as she couldn’t reach my cervix, although she said I won’t make it to my induction at 40+5 given how things are progressing. She said it’s completely normal, especially with you first for contractions to stop and start. I’m confident it was contractions given I had them for like 7 hours and not braxton hicks. Anyone else had that? Looks like no due date baby for me!
thank you for sharing- omg I know, I was gearing up for a day of labour, managed to nap, rang triage who said to go to my midwife appointment as normal and felt absolutely fine! I would say it's "normal" exactly. It can be, but it's also a symptom of pre eclampsia.I’m almost 31 weeks and my feet and ankles have suddenly really swollen up today, my feet are also a bit patchy - almost blue in places and then white in others. Is this normal? Google isn’t helping!
Are they even on both sides? Maybe double check with your midwife, they like it to be on both sides but even so, with my legs swelling it made me nervous. Have you got a blood pressure monitor at home you could use as someone says above that swelling and high BP can be signs of pre eclampsia?I’m almost 31 weeks and my feet and ankles have suddenly really swollen up today, my feet are also a bit patchy - almost blue in places and then white in others.
