I’m bowing out ladies. My blood test results are indicating it’s a loss. My heart is broken. Good luck to each and every one of you. I hope you have healthy pregnancies and babies.❤
I'm so sorry, we were all really hoping it'd be good news 😢 look after yourself and make sure you've got people you can talk to while you process everything ❤

So sorry to hear this. Like the person said above, take as much time as you need to heal and lean on people for support. Sending you so much love ❤

Hi everyone, I'm currently 40+3 with my second and have a midwife app tomorrow. I know they will offer me a sweep but I reallllly don't want one. I had 3 last time and still had to be induced so my thoughts are go for being induced to avoid the discomfort of the sweeps for potentially nothing to happen. Does anyone know what happens if you say no to the sweep like do they give you an induction date or are you left to go further overdue and if so how long overdue can you actually go? x

Hi! I’m 40 weeks with my first, from my experience at my last midwife appt at 38 weeks she booked me in for both my sweep (tomorrow) and induction at 40+5. The induction she was really laidback about and said I can ring on the day and push it back by a week if I want. The sweep I’m not sure but from my understanding you can refuse if you want, I guess it might just depend on the area you’re in and/or the midwife?

ETA I think they’ll let you go to 41+5, from what they were saying to me, and you can go over but it’s not massively advisable. But again, this was my hospital saying this, and I know some have been told other things.

Been in early labour with 10-min apart contractions for 24 hours, how long can this tit last

You can decline your sweep and just explain to your midwife your reasons why, you can ultimately say no to any procedure or intervention you don’t want!

At triage because I couldn’t tell if my discharge was discharge or slow leak of waters, the midwife made me feel like a fool as though “you’re only 36+4” as if waters can’t go before 40 weeks.
Cried all the way here thinking I’m worrying for nothing, hopefully I am! But I’d never forgive myself if I didn’t get it checked & something happened to him. And considering it was only this morning at my scheduled MW appointment I was told “if you’re ever unsure then ring & they’ll be happy to check!” 😒

I'm sorry ❤ they really are such pricks, if anything went wrong they wouldn't be long blaming you for not coming in sooner and the idea that you are "only" 36+4 is rediculous. I had my first at 38 weeks and second at 37 weeks, how medical professionals can be so ignorant I have no idea.

Ugh I’m so sorry they had this crappy attitude. Don’t let them fob you off. My sisters waters broke early and cos she was young and naive they didn’t listen to her and she and baby ended up with sepsis. It’s better to be safe than sorry and they should bloody know that!

My waters broke at 37+2 it can happen at anytime. You definitely are doing the right thing by getting checked over as you are pretty far though your pregnancy!

Never feel bad about questioning health professionals. It's their job to check you over and your right to that service. Hypnobirthing really helped in focusing on that, making sure you ask questions and you get then to explain why they are doing things, they should easily be able to explain things to you.

Thank you all so much!! ❤
Home now, no waters thankfully but a clear case of thrush. The doctor was so lovely & said any sign again or worry to come straight back so going to forget the crappy midwife’s behaviour / attitude and focus on the positive of just needing a pessary instead of early labour!
I know so many who maybe would’ve not gone due to the way she spoke on the phone that it’s quite scary. I will happily rock up without phoning now if the same midwife refuses me

Ladies quick question! For any of you that have had uti's how quickly did your results come back? My midwife suspects I have one so sent my sample today after my appt based on dipstick and some minor symptoms but because I'd just finished a nightshift I didn't think to ask 🤣

Thinking of you! I was in your position on Christmas day 😖 it is rough and exhausting, no point in trying to sugar coat it! But try and get some rest if you can, even if it is only 5 min blasts of sleep between contractions. I promise you, it does end ❤

Urgh, glad it's all okay now. It's AWFUL how rude they can be - and like you say, you are encouraged to call up by your own midwife, then get some arsey, condescending grump bag on on the phone making you feel like a ridiculous drama queen for daring to ring them with (legitimate) concerns. It was exactly the same with my two last time and my waters did break at just before 36 weeks  I think I might get my husband to call this time... he's got a thicker skin than I have!!

Well I think somethings happening. Started losing the mucus plug yesterday, annoyingly the hospital insisted I go in when I rang because there was a pinkish blood, then I got there and they said “oh yeah you didn’t need to call” 🙄 they checked baby over at least and she’s fine.

Woke up at 5am and had what I would call mild period pains that come in waves. They don’t seem to be massively frequent but there’s a pattern. Got a midwife appointment today anyway so assuming they don’t get any worse I’ll see what she says. Maybe baby Muffin will be one of the 4% to actually come on her due date today!

Ohhh exciting! Good luck 🤞🏼.

I had a few contraction type feelings through the night but just braxton hicks as it’s stopped now! I’m 37 weeks today so would love it if I go naturally in the next two weeks so I don’t have to get that early induction/section tbh.

Happy due date 🥰 it’s a good day to have a birthday on 😉
