So at 34 + 5 curiosity got the better of me and I decided to weigh myself this morning.

Yeah, won't be doing that in a hurry again lol šŸ™ƒšŸ™ˆ

37 weeks and went for a scan and baby is breached šŸ™ˆ they are going to try and manually turn her next week but if not it will be a c section. Found the whole thing very over whelming the consultant started talking to me about the risks of everything. As much as I didnā€™t have a birth plan I always assumed I would try and give birth vaginally with it being my first but itā€™s not even an option if she stays breached. Canā€™t tell if itā€™s my hormones or if itā€™s normal to be this emotional about it. Has anyone had a breached baby last minute?

I havenā€™t but there is a useful website called spinning babies which has lots of helpful tips and exercises to bring baby into the correct position! Good luck.

Baby GG was born on the 20th April at 36+5 so slightly premature! Total shock as my waters went spontaneously at home at 3am in the morning. I laboured pretty quickly from 4cm to fully dilated but then baby would just not come out despite me trying my hardest! In the end I was rushed to theatre for a spinal and they attempted kiwi cup and forceps to no avail so baby was born via emergency c section! It was a total relief in the end after suffering fully dilated contractions for quite some time and they struggled to get the spinal in whilst I was having them šŸ˜–

itā€™s such a surreal feeling and as odd as it sounds I canā€™t believe my pregnancy is suddenly over and I really miss my bump! Baby blues is also a very real thing. Newborn cuddles however are so special šŸ„°

I was in the same position as you a few weeks ago. I tried lots of different methods to get my baby to turn as I had a week between finding out he was breach and my next appointment to ā€˜discuss optionsā€™ - and he had turned by my next appt! Look on the spinning babies website for advice and try looking on Youtube for yoga to turn baby. I also did lots of stair and curb walking and just being active. Rocking on the birthing ball too and making figures of 8 with your hips will help too. I point blank refused a section just because baby was breach -it may be for you, in which case great, but donā€™t let them force you into a section and make you think itā€™s a must. You can actually deliver naturally even if baby stays breach. Look for hypnobirthing advice too on Insta and the likes (thenakeddoula has some good advice/positive stories but can be a bit ā€˜out thereā€™ so beware!) and donā€™t let them scare or worry you. Childbirth is becoming so much more forced and medicalised and Iā€™ve learnt lots from my birth first time around. You still have all of your options and thatā€™s even if baby decides not to turn! If you want one, personally iā€™d hold off a manual turn until much closer to 40 weeks. Let nature take its course and you still have 3 weeks until due date so loads of time! Keep us updated šŸ¤

I wholeheartedly agree that every pregnant woman should have the choice on how they want to birth and not feel like they arenā€™t allowed to have a say by medical professionals. However that Naked Doula is dangerous in my opinion. She has a thread on here for anyone interested. I think doulas have an important place and agree birth has been over medicalised but there are reasons for this and why they have NICE guidlines.
I found Dr Sara Wickham really helpful when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was being told I had to be induced.

Just seen this on instagram but sums it up better than I can.

Thank you I will try all these ā¤ they were saying as itā€™s my first baby and I havenā€™t ā€˜labouredā€™ before they donā€™t know how it will go and with a breach baby itā€™s too high risk, I would not be able to go it at my local hospital I would have to go to a specialist centre an hour away. I donā€™t know how true all that is but I am just hoping she turns before the next scan šŸ¤ž

Iā€™m not 100% sure on the amount but I hadnā€™t drank enough at my 12 week scan so I went out and drank 8 plastic cups of water (so probably about 500-750mls) and that still wasnā€™t enough so 1l would probably do it!

You may want to check if itā€™s going to be an internal scan with it being ā€œearlyā€. If so you need an empty bladder.

From my experience, they ask you to go with a full bladder first and then if it needs to be internal, they ask you to empty it.
Guess it's better to go with a full and be able to empty it than the other way around

Oh thanks! I donā€™t think itā€™s an internal one but will go with a full bladder just incase I can always go for a wee while Iā€™m therešŸ˜†

I went in with a very full bladder. Iā€™ve always suspected that I have quite a small bladder (or rather a bladder that doesnā€™t empty properly) and I drank a lot of water. They then asked me to empty it as the view was cloudy, and then when I did they could see a lot better. I think it depends on the person but they said itā€™s easier coming in with a full one. They also told me my (tiny) bladder had refilled 5 minutes later! Explains why Iā€™ve always been one to go to the loo a lot.

Ah I see! Fingers crossed she does turn for you - the more traditional methods do seem to work! Let us know!

Howā€™s everyone doing? My DD is Monday and still no signs over here! The odd period type pain but as soon as I think ā€˜This is it! Itā€™s starting!ā€™, it goes šŸ¤£šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
