thanks for this, I think when I feel up to it I’ll definitely contact them and arrange something. I think my hormones have got the better of me as spent the day crying. My legs have been getting better at least though. Baby muffin was worth it all I’m just wondering how I can process it all as I never likes needles or blood at the best of times and I’ve just spent the last week being poked and prodded.
Thats normal aswell, baby blues can kick in around day 5ish or when your milk comes in if i remember correctly. I was the same, think once you get home it just hits you aswell. Best advice i can give is take it easy and ask/accept help if you need it.
I just kind of got on with it after my daughter was born, that's the way I cope with things and thought I'd just forget but in the longer term I look back and I really should have spoke up about how I was feeling more

Still no baby 😭 was feeling quite frustrated and stressed last night, very much regretting my decision to be induced! Had the pessary Thursday around 5pm, removed yesterday and was still only 1cm dilated, had the first dose of the gel at 6pm but was unable to progress to the next gel when due at midnight due to baby’s heart rate dropping with contractions. After further monitoring all fine and had the second gel at about 10am this morning, still only 1cm dilated but cervix has come forward more apparently. Waiting until this evening for next examination 🙃🫠

I'm only 7 weeks but the fatigue I'm feeling is unreal 😭 I've always suffered with tiredness but this is next level. I feel like I could fall asleep most days at work, I get super dizzy and as soon as I get home I have zero energy to do anything else. Weekends are pretty much a right off as I need to try to recoup as much energy as possible to get back into work on the Monday. I feel awful because family and friends ask me to do stuff with them but I genuinely don't have the energy to get out of the house most days. Is this normal? And will it get better by the 2nd trimester? I've started panicking thinking I'm not cut out for motherhood because if I'm this exhausted now how will I manage when baby is actually here 😭 sorry for the long rant, I'm just freaking out that something is wrong with me 🙈 I do have low iron which I have tablets for that make me really ill so the doctor has told me to cut back on the prescribed dose. I feel like I may have low blood pressure or something and I get breathless from simple chores around the house. My BMI is in the normal range and my midwife has no concerns and has put me as low risk so maybe I'm worrying unnecessarily.

Honestly this is how I felt since about 6 weeks and unfortunately for me it’s stayed the same (along with dizziness- signed off at 26wks due to it).
However everyone I spoke to said it’s not the norm!!! So don’t be too worried!! The first trimester is exhausting, 2nd is meant to increase in energy levels (mine didn’t 😆) but I have got much more energy in the 3rd and have to force myself to rest at nearly 38wks.
And honestly the energy once baby is here was my worry too but everyone I’ve spoken to said it’s completely different and nowhere near the type of draining that pregnancy is.
I hope you start to perk up soon energy wise & the dizziness stops!

Yes, this was me a week ago! My contractions didn’t settle into any pattern until day 3 of labour for me. I had them Thursday evening, mucus plug went on Friday, contractions Friday, waters Saturday, went in on Sunday. I was also wondering about the lack of pattern but for me it wasn’t until I was 5cm dilated that there was any rhythm.
They’ve completely stopped now! Which is frustrating but at least I’ve been able to get some sleep.
I hope your recovery is going ok, sorry it was a traumatic experience 😢

This could’ve been me writing this about my first birth! I then got hooked up to the CTG whilst on the drip. It’s a longer process but all worth it in the end - good luck!

😭 thank you! Did you end up having them vaginally? At my next examination if I’ve made progress then I think they’ll break my waters and then it will be the drip. If they can’t break them it will be a 24hour rest 😅
I’ve been having contractions and they were at about 4 minutes apart yesterday but have slowed down. I should have also said that the actual induction process has been ok I just didn’t really want it, I wanted it to happen spontaneously. The worst part for me is being in hospital, I’m just absolutely hating it 😂

Not sure if you know this but the first trimester is so tough because you’re not just growing the baby, but you’re growing the placenta too. I’ve found the first trimester absolutely exhausting both times, for me it got better after 12-14 weeks x

Yes I did!
The midwife unknowingly broke my waters whilst giving me the gel and it wasn’t discovered until my next check 6 hours later, so it was all a bit of rush to get her out so I’m sure you’ll have a better experience! I got to 4cm on the drip and then wouldn’t progress any more, nor could they increase the drip as baby’s heartbeat was dropping. I wanted to go naturally, labour and deliver in water, not be lying down etc…. And look how that ended up 🤣 I’m sure yours will go much better, but I feel your pain about a longer stay in hospital! I remember naively downloading a couple of books to keep me going during my stay and then realising I couldn’t concentrate on more than 2 words due to the lovely labour process 🤣

Yep I’m 5 weeks tomorrow and I’ve been so exhausted but then been waking up so early no matter what time I go to bed🤦🏻‍♀️

At least you got some sleep! If they get bad ring triage as mine gave me the ok to have codeine for them (I didn’t because I thought I was being superwoman lol) but they might be able to suggest some meds :)

thank you ❤ the only saving grace is getting my wonderful daughter out of it. I hope everything goes smoothly for you xx

Ah it’s such a long process isn’t it, I will keep you all updated! Was hoping he would be here by the end of the weekend at the latest but I’m not so sure now 🤣🤣

In terms of tiredness the first trimester is tough, I used to fall asleep at 7pm when I wouldn’t normally be going to sleep till 10/11. I also felt like I could fall asleep at any point during the day especially after food. However it does get better so much better even now I’m 34 weeks I’m starting to get tired again but still not as tired as the first trimester. It might be worth getting your bloods done if you haven’t already or a blood pressure check just to put your mind at ease and make sure your not anaemic

Did they offer you the choice of induction or to wait/c section? I hope things pick up soon for you & you can meet baby! 🤞🏼

The first trimester is awful. I was WFH and my husband came home to find me fast asleep a few times as I literally couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer 😂 I just felt sick and exhausted the whole time. I’ll be 15 weeks tomorrow and have felt like a brand new person over the last week or two, so hopefully it will improve for you too.

Yep it’s completely normal, pregnancy fatigue in that first trimester is just something else and not like any tiredness I’ve had before. I had it with my first and it’s completely different when they arrive, yes you don’t sleep much so you are sleep deprived but it’s not the same as the fatigue in the first trimester. I’m 12 weeks now and just coming out of it I think but I’ve been going to bed at like 8pm most nights for the last couple of months 🤣

Has everyone decided on names for their LOs? I decided early on for my first 2 but waited until they were born to make a final decision... this time I have hardly any ideas at all! There are a few names I don't hate 😆 and that's about it!!

I was initially induced because I’m overdue and have GD, managed to push them back a little and I’m so glad I did or feel this process would have been even worse! I sat there last night thinking should I just say I want a c section but then they said his heart rate wasn’t of concern so not needed just yet. I think as I’ve got GD though I could have gone for an elective from the get go and they’d have been happy with that, although it’s absolutely your choice I guess I would have had to be less forceful to get one! I’ve progressed to 2cm so moving ward this evening hopefully and they should break my waters unless they go before rhat 🤞🏽

We've got a shortlist of about 5 but I keep changing my mind on one which I like best, I've found it so hard to find names I like.

Also re: 1st trimester fatigue, I was so exhausted all the time, I'd nap after work and then be asleep by 9pm most nights, I was like that for a good couple of months! Hardly saw my other half during that time 😂

Its absolutely normal. I lost all interest in everything, I couldn’t even watch tv I just had no energy or motivation to do anything even stuff I usually love. It did pass though by about 16/17 weeks, didn’t go away overnight as soon as I hit second trimester like I was expecting though

We had one name we both liked, and then when we told my stepson we were having a baby he was thinking up names and it was one of the first he said so since then thats what we’ve stuck to. I’m worried he’ll come and not suit it as we have no back ups 😂
