Thats normal aswell, baby blues can kick in around day 5ish or when your milk comes in if i remember correctly. I was the same, think once you get home it just hits you aswell. Best advice i can give is take it easy and ask/accept help if you need it.
I just kind of got on with it after my daughter was born, that's the way I cope with things and thought I'd just forget but in the longer term I look back and I really should have spoke up about how I was feeling more
thanks, my mum is coming every day to help us which has been amazing. I’m quite physical so find not moving around etc very frustrating. Something else that’s annoyed me is that our care has been transferred to a different hospital. It’s more local to us but I deliberately did not pick to give birth there because it’s not the best, so I feel a bit cast aside.

I'm only 7 weeks but the fatigue I'm feeling is unreal 😭 I've always suffered with tiredness but this is next level. I feel like I could fall asleep most days at work, I get super dizzy and as soon as I get home I have zero energy to do anything else. Weekends are pretty much a right off as I need to try to recoup as much energy as possible to get back into work on the Monday. I feel awful because family and friends ask me to do stuff with them but I genuinely don't have the energy to get out of the house most days. Is this normal? And will it get better by the 2nd trimester? I've started panicking thinking I'm not cut out for motherhood because if I'm this exhausted now how will I manage when baby is actually here 😭 sorry for the long rant, I'm just freaking out that something is wrong with me 🙈 I do have low iron which I have tablets for that make me really ill so the doctor has told me to cut back on the prescribed dose. I feel like I may have low blood pressure or something and I get breathless from simple chores around the house. My BMI is in the normal range and my midwife has no concerns and has put me as low risk so maybe I'm worrying unnecessarily.
I have genuinely not known tiredness like first trimester exhaustion. My first has only just started sleeping through at nearly 2, I went back to work full time at 7 months and spent well over a year working on a maximum of 4 hours sleep a night (she was a really terrible sleeper, worse than most of my friends babies so hopefully unusual don’t worry haha), and I was still less tired than I have been the last 6/7 weeks with her sleeping through and me being back in the first trimester with number 2. Last time it went at about 15 weeks and I had more energy than I’d had in my life until I was 37 weeks, so praying for the same this time 🤣

How many bags is too many for hospital? I have a cabin suitcase, bath changing bag and my every day handbag. I feel like I’ve not over packed and have only taken essentials but my OH says it’s too many bags 🤣

Thank you everyone for the reassurance re: tiredness. I've definitely heard that the 2nd trimester is better so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Today I was wondering how on earth I'm going to get a nursery ready when I can barely do a load of laundry and wash a few dishes 🙈😂

The lady next to me had a bag the size of putting into the hold in an airplane so I wouldn’t worry 😂

I mean, worse case, even if you stay tired, hopefully your nesting instinct will kick in and override the exhaustion 😂 I am the least organised person ever, but I had an absolute compulsion to learn how to fold bedding properly and reorganise our airing cupboard and refold all the baby clothes in a certain way. I didn’t even have a choice I just felt I HAD to do it. Pregnancy is weird 😂😂

Holy moly are shooting pains going up the tina normal at 38wks? 🤣 feels a bit like lightening crotch but way more intense! I notice when he moves it happens & if I’m sat fully upright creating more pressure. Takes my breath away when it happens.

When it happens to me I literally have to clasp my crotch!

Yes!! I keep thinking how the hell will I manage in labour when this is so painful, it’s how I imagine it to feel when they start to crown but could be completely wrong 😂

Ah it’s such a long process isn’t it, I will keep you all updated! Was hoping he would be here by the end of the weekend at the latest but I’m not so sure now 🤣🤣
Good luck! It’s ultra boring being in hospital waiting around, I totally feel for you!

Yep - I mentioned it to my MW and she said “yep, shooting pains up through your noony? Very normal”

yay….

I had a medium size suitcase, the changing backpack and then a large bag for life with the extra bits I couldn’t fit in. Clothing I took newborn and a couple of 0-3 but they absolutely drowned her, she was 7lb 1 xx

My second didn't fit in newborn clothes. She was straight in 0-3 😂
I'd maybe get some "up to 1 month" too as they're a little bit bigger 😊

Morning everyone, I’m 36 weeks and have been getting shooting pains too which I’ve read is lightening crotch (lovely 😂) but when I have the pain it like, doesn’t go away for ages. Like I can be getting the pains for 10-15 minute intervals. I’ve also yesterday developed really bad pain around the bottom of my bump radiating out towards my hips which when I google says round ligament pain but I thought that was when your uterus was growing in the second trimester? Has anyone experienced this much later on in pregnancy? I can barely walk or lift my legs.

Not being able to walk and lift your legs sounds like PGP.
Mine started with pain directly under my bump where they thought it was actually a UTI and then over time it got worse

Bit of a different question - what are the best 0% alcohol drinks people have had? Going to centerparcs soon and don’t want to be drinking juice in the evening when everyone else is on wine and beer 🤣 From previous experience, fake Prosecco type stuff can be ok, fake wine is awful and fake beer is ok but just curious to see what the best ones are people have found?

Gordon’s 0% Gin is so nice, tastes like a real gin and tonic, and the 0% Rekorderlig cider is nice too!

Mcguigan estates white wine and Noughty Prosecco were both good!

I always liked the 0% Budweiser beer and Brew Dog Nanny State.

0% gins in tins from Tesco refreshing.
