Has anyone had their baby and lived quite far from family/a support system? We’re so happy living where we are and I’d love to raise kids here but only having a handful of friends and no family here is starting to panic me. Fortunate that our families will be brilliant help but we would have to leave/change our jobs and don’t know if we’re ready for that. I’m first to have a baby in my friends & family so feel I’m in uncharted territory so would really appreciate some advice

Bit of a different question - what are the best 0% alcohol drinks people have had? Going to centerparcs soon and don’t want to be drinking juice in the evening when everyone else is on wine and beer 🤣 From previous experience, fake Prosecco type stuff can be ok, fake wine is awful and fake beer is ok but just curious to see what the best ones are people have found?
Alcohol free Heineken and birra Moretti are good. alcohol free kopperberg is nice if you want something sweeter. Have fun :giggle:

I had 0% brothers toffee apple cider at Christmas it was amazing! My dad was a big beer drinker but hasn’t drink alcohol since he had cancer 10 years ago and I always use to find it hard to buy him drinks for events but Christmas gone I got him a variety of brand name 0% ales and ciders from the supermarket, there is such a broad range of alcohol free options these days.

The best 0% alcohol drinks I've found are alcohol-free lagers because they actually still taste like beer! Other stuff can taste like a nice drink to me, but not the same as the original 😆 Nosecco was quite nice too last time I had it. I bought a really expensive non alcoholic gin and it was like I'd mixed the entire contents of the spice cupboard with a tonic water.. rrrrank!

I am not normally much of a drinker but I am daydreaming about a nice cold glass of rose in the garden already...roll on summer 😆

The kopperberg alcohol free is lovely and refreshing. For non alcoholic beer I've found Erdringer and the Corona Cero the closest to the real thing. Lots of choice out there these days so hopefully you find something you like! X

yes - my husband and I are in this position - our eldest is nearly 5 now.

Do you have any specific concerns or questions ?

Came in for reduced movements this evening & been offered induction as they’re worried about it happening again and what’s going on with baby.
I feel soooo underprepared and was so against it but they’ve said 48hrs of 2 pessary then if nothing has happened I can choose what happens next. I hope it stays that way but ultimately feel so nervous/excited/scared to finally be meeting him at some point this week 😬 I get to go home after the pessary so hopefully can sleep.
Any tips or advice please shout my way!!! 🙏🙏

Keep as mobile as you can -lots of walking, climb the stairs like a crab, try cow pose, do some bouncing on your birth ball if you have one. Be prepared to be kept waiting. Check if you can have a bath - have a nice long bath with candles and nice music. Try to stay as relaxed as you can.

when you go in to hospital remember your ear plugs, ear buds and sleep mask, home comforts and snacks.

good luck 😊

Thank you 🙏 I suddenly feel very not cut out for this but I’m sure it’s just nerves!

I was induced last time after a few episodes of reduced movements too. Definitely try and keep active to help start things off - go for a walk, use a birthing ball etc. The midwife told me to take some warm baths when I was in hospital (I wasn't allowed home with the pessary). Have you already had it or waiting until the morning?

Good luck!! xxx

I had a wobble like that around 38/39 weeks. I thought if the baby pokes its head out I’d be inclined to push it back in.

Amazing thank you, decided to wait until the morning (have to call up in a bit & find out when to go in). Otherwise it wouldn’t have been put in / allowed home until 1/1.30am then back at that same time Tuesday morning so seemed a bit silly. Although I didn’t sleep properly anyway so probably should’ve 😂
Going to ask if I can stay in once it’s gone in today as the pressure is so intense where his head is!
Thank you!! Xx

Be prepared to be pushed back 😊
Last time, when I was told to call, I was 40 weeks exactly, but didn't end up going in until 40+4 because they didn't have space.
I just had to keep ringing up every morning, sometimes lunch time too to see if they had space yet.
I was told to go in at 7pm on the 2nd day but then they rang me at 6.45 to say I couldn't anymore as the delivery suite was full again 😊

Hi I'm hoping someone can offer me some comfort I'm 11 weeks and 2 days and my pregnancy symptoms have disappeared the only thing I've still got is a strong gag reflex. I've booked a private scan today I'm beside myself thinking I've had a missed miscarriage. I took a pregnancy test and it's fainter than the ones I was getting at 6/7 weeks x

Symptoms can come and go (and they tend to ease off at around 12 weeks anyway) so they're not an indicator of how well the pregnancy is progressing, and pregnancy tests rely on the levels of hormone which are stronger in early pregnancy (and can be affected by the time of day you test/how much fluid you've drunk) so please try not to worry about either of those meaning anything bad 🙂 I'm glad you've got a scan booked for today so you can reassure yourself, I hope it goes well ❤

This is what I’ve been thinking all night / morning 😅 They said to come in at 3pm today but still waiting for the call to say they’re suddenly busy & can’t start today 😂

37 weeks today and had awful period like aches in my lower stomach yesterday and this morning. Hoping this is the start of the end! So ready to not be pregnant any more 🤣

Symptoms alone are an indication of how your pregnancy is going.
Symptoms come and go, not everyone's are the same, some people don't even have symptoms at all.
The darkness of the line doesn't indicate anything either. Especially this far along as your hcg is still so high.
Even if you were to have a missed miscarriage, hcg would still be high as your body still thinks you're pregnant.
My test was positive 6 weeks after my miscarriage.

By around 9/10 weeks, symptoms will slowly start to decrease (usually) as your placenta starts to take over

Here for a moan. After the eight hours of contractions Saturday morning, nothing since. I feel sick, lost appetite, stomach feels tender but little man is still wiggling away quite happy in there. I’m doing all the raspberry leaf tea, bouncing on a ball and the miles circuit positions to try make something, anything happen. I’m so tired too just feels like no matter how much sleep I get it’s not enough. Frustrating!
