31 weeks on Saturday and all our furniture is still in boxes. We can’t organise anything until my FIL gets his new house which keeps getting delayed. His furniture is all stored in what will be our nursery. Clothes are still unwashed in bags and I don’t even have a bag topack for hospital. You’re not alone 😅
34 weeks tomorrow and we’ve been sent the wrong crib today and the stroller doesn’t arrive until next Wednesday 😂

baby measuring small today so got a growth scan on Saturday, fingers crossed all is ok or she’s gonna be swaddled using the dog’s blanket if she arrives soon!

Thankyou all so much for your reassurance yet again! Think Iv just felt abit overwhelmed with husband down to one arm and the thought of everything that needs doing! Your right I’ll slowly get bits done and I’m sure it will all come together soon enough!

Has anyone ever had a rash in pregnancy? Currently sat at hospital waiting on a dr checking it.
I had loads of rashes at beginning of pregnancy, went to Dr who told me it just happens in pregnancy sometimes and that I couldn't take antihistamines. Now four weeks postpartum and itchy skin has returned again!!

I’m 20 weeks and my next midwife appointment isn’t until I’m 29 weeks…is it ok to text my midwife to ask for my prescription exempt certificate and my MATB1 form you think? Or should I wait?! I’m sure my work need the form sooner than later?
Yes I text mine and she posted it to me 😊

Please any reassurance that’s it’s not totally bad to be totally disorganised at 32 weeks. We have most stuff brought but it’s still in boxes/needs washing. Furniture isn’t up, piles of stuff all over the spare bed!
Looks like husband will be having surgery on his elbow… so just feeling abit overwhelmed with how much needs doing!
All our baby stuff was still in bags and boxes, my office was only half way rearranged for the baby and I'd disassembled the snuzpod to clean it when my waters broke at 36+4! We survived thanks to my MIL doing all our laundry and finishing setting up the room while I was in hospital. I also hadn't packed a hospital bag so we were running around at 1am trying to pack while I used almost every towel in the house trying to protect the carpet!! It was stressful at the time but it's a good story now haha

37 weeks here and not even got a bag backed yet! Ultimately the baby doesn't really need much in the early days, a few clothes, nappies and a blanket. That's what I'll keep telling myself anyway 🤣

I had pupps with my 3yo. Most irritating thing ever 🙃
Did it ever get better? Were you prescribed an antihistamine? I’ve been gave one to take three times a day but leaflet says should only be taken when pregnant if dr thinks absolutely essential so a bit concerned to take them! I’ve came away from the hospital with some creams and tablets so hoping it will ease off a little bit!

I have an antenatal class for breastfeeding in a couple weeks but in the meantime was wondering what the essentials are? I’ve ordered a pump, pads and nipple cream so far.

Any tips for sinus infection in early pregnancy? I’m around 8 weeks and it’s agony! The only positive is that it’s taking my mind of my nausea 🙈

Paracetamol, search for sinus massage in youtube and (if you can face it) buy a sinus flush thing from Amazon - gross but worked WONDERS for me to flush out some of the crap

Big packet of biscuits, bottle of water with a long straw…. I had a breastfeeding cover that I used for probably the first 4 months when out and about but cover ups are personal preference. I never leaked so I didn’t need the pads - I think what you have is fine, just see how you get on and buy as you need… although I’m serious about the biscuits and water, cluster feeding demands calories and water x

In my experience, if a doctor has prescribed them and knows you're pregnant, they will be fine to take.

Tablets that haven't specifically been studied on pregnant women, say the same thing on everything as they can't conduct studies on pregnant women.

Initially because my stomach was absolutely covered in patches of hives and I was causing scratches where I was desperately trying to relieve the itch. The antihistamine settled the hives down and I had a steroid cream. My biggest tip is keep your skin cool, I used to freeze muslin cloths to lay over my bump when the itch really set in, other things that helped were menthol aqueous cream kept in the fridge, oat baths and olive oil on any stretch marks as they get insanely itchy.

You’ll find most leaflets will state something of that sort as like whatabore said they haven’t specifically been tested on pregnant women 🙂

Hey everyone, hope you’re all hanging in there ❤
anxiety seems to be constant for me at the moment (and tears). I’m 30 weeks now and all I do is catastrophize every little thing. I’m also kind of focusing on strange things that pale in comparison to having a baby, I.e random small town gossip, falling out with people I don’t really care about, peoples opinions of me, how I’m coming across while being hormonal and self centred. Anyone else experienced this? Not sure if it’s my brain focusing on stupid little things to distract from the stress of having a little human. Also I lost a family member last week and so did baby’s dad so this is taking a toll. Sending love to anyone else struggling as this feels lonely and really hard.

I’m really sorry for your loss xx

on the anxiety front do you have anything you can use in your toolkit that helps calm you down? I had CBT a few years ago and had a sorting exercise where I would list my worries then sort them into practical worries (things I have control over) vs hypothetical worries (things I don’t have control over) - the idea is your brain eventually identifies the things you don’t have control over quite quickly and let’s go of them without bothering your mind with them. The other thing I use is asking myself if something will matter to me jn 5 years time - then I try and let it go if the answer is no.

I’ve been really anxious to the last week or so tbh. A lot of general anxiety about the baby’s health and delivery.

Thank you ❤
I haven’t tried this but it sounds brilliant, I’ll definitely be giving this a go! Xx
