So I’m really sorry for the TMI post, but I keep reading about and seeing people talking about constipation in pregnancy and I’ve been the complete opposite throughout 🫣 anyone else the same? It comes from nowhere and it’s like when I have to go I have to go RIGHT NOW

Not had the runs (food poisoning aside) but definitely when I have to go I have to go!

👋 yep! 😂 I’ve had a bit of constipation too but mostly the opposite problem. I can’t even think of a curry without dashing to the toilet 😭 I think it’s to do with progesterone? Or some other hormone? The same one that causes period poops 🤷‍♀️ I’ve found my stomach has become so much more sensitive, not that it was made of steel beforehand but I can’t even stomach nandos salt on my chips 😭

Haha yup, me. I’d rather take this over the opposite though. 🙈

Yep I have a mixture of both its lovely ha if I don’t eat enough fruit I can get constipated easily and have bad stomach cramps but can’t go. However normally when I have to go I have to go! It was worse in the first trimester it seems to have settle a bit now dare I say

Haha, don't worry. I have IBS-D and normally I take an immodium every morning as well as a stomach relaxer... otherwise I am on the loo constantly! The first and second trimester were amazing because I was more constipated than anything which meant normality for me :D now in the third trimester it's definitely swinging back to my normal habits, which is slightly irritating (especially as everyone says that having stomach pains and diarrhoea are the first signs of labour...). I figured it's the pressure of the baby on my bowel that's moving things through quicker than it was before or something.

Does anyone else find it very weird when baby is transverse and you can see their head on one side & feel kicks the other? My OH stared at my stomach this morning looking a bit disturbed at the shape of it 😂

Anyone else have the occasional pain in the ribs type thing? I'm 23 and a bit weeks and every day from about 8pm, it feels like baby girl likes to sit basically on my right lung and it feels like a bruise when I touch my stomach. Assuming this is normal but as she's my first and I have no clue, thought to ask lmao! Just feels so achey when she's there.
I had pains last week once turning 24 weeks and at times it is really difficult to even get up from the sofa. Definitely call your midwife unit, they will do all the checks to make sure all is OK and even if you just come off there with reassurance it’s normal then it’s worth doing in my opinion! I was scared of coming across like they thought I was being dramatic but they were lovely and although I still have the pains I’d be a wreck by now cos I just overthink everything 😂 a warm bath worked wonders on my aches and pains last night though!

So I’m 20+4 and I’ve definitely felt less movement since yesterday, to the point I haven’t felt anything today. I called my midwife and she isn’t working today so told me to go to the hospital to be checked.. well, the midwife that saw me could not have been any more obvious that she saw me as an inconvenience. “We wouldn’t even invite you in this early” and “is there a reason you couldn’t see your midwife”. EVERYTHING online says to call immediately for reduced movements, but now I feel like I’ve been a massive drama queen. She also told me they aren’t concerned by about reduced movements until 28 weeks?!
Baby is fine anyway, thank god.

My unit say it's not until around 28ish weeks that the baby has a pattern that's recognisable and that it's normal earlier on to feel movement sporadically. I think they'd be the same re going in at 20 weeks to be checked, but I'm not sure what else they expected you to do really... you called your midwife and then you followed her instructions which were to go in 🤷‍♀️ Bit ridiculous/rude of them to be condescending when all you did was follow a medical professionals advice. Plus, as you say, google it and it says go in. If they don't want to monitor for reduced movements at 20-24 weeks (for example) they need to tell you that and have some instructions/information written on your notes about what to do.

You did the right thing. In my experience, midwives are either actual angels sent from heaven or totally rude and seem to resent doing their job - you must’ve just been unlucky there.

I’m debating calling myself, I’m 24 weeks and have definitely felt kicks today, but he’s been much quieter than usual. Going to have a cold Glass of water and see if that helps. I also think I’ve been having braxton hicks too - had some stomach cramping/tightening across my bump.

Yes been suffering around a week with pelvic pain now (am 33+2)! Baby is also head down. I’ve got such a heavy feeling in my stomach too, like lower stomach that’s the only way I can describe it. I don’t feel that my bump is even that big considering I’m 33 weeks but it’s just starting to feel like I need to lift it up at the bottom to stand up 🤣🙃

Did anyone suffer with bad pains in early pregnancy?
How early and what type of pains? I'd speak to a GP or your midwife if you've got very bad pain. I had period like cramps early on and get stretching/round ligament pain now. I do get bad abdominal pain which is made worse by pregnancy, but that's a known problem that they are keeping an eye on and I need to go into A&E if it suddenly escalates.

I had what felt like period cramps on and off from 5 weeks to 10 weeks, felt like it was going to come any minute! Think it was just my uterus stretching. Also had some round ligament pain which was less crampy and more sore but that was only when I was turning/twisting too quick

Currently wondering if it's too early to book onto a baby massage course. I'm due in mid March and the local village one is taking bookings for a course that starts mid to late April so baby would definitely be here and spaces are limited but equally... is that stupid XD

Thanks both, 4/5 weeks so very early. I've spoken to my GP and they're monitoring hcg levels at the moment, just looking for other peoples experiences. It does feel like my period is going to come and any time i cough or sneeze it's sharp pain.

I am 5 weeks and I'm also feeling a bit like this. Not been in agony, just felt like i am getting my time of the month and sharp pain if i sneeze/ pulling pain if i stretch.

I just assumed that it was all normal though so haven't been worried. Did your doctor seem concerned?
