Aww thank you for asking! He is indeed breech 🙈 I guess I wait to hear back from a consultant about my options now! I have a midwife appointment in two weeks but I could presumably go into labour before then.
I realised it probably seemed weird that I replied but I've been lurking on here since having my baby last year. I'd love another but just live through you all instead. 😂

If you have any questions feel free to shout, happy to share my experience (not advice of course 🤫). He may still turn like @Jellybean093 mentioned the other day!

It’s through the day and night but does wake me throughout the night 😑 I should try and do that with the mattress, I’m not sure how but I’ll have to take a look! I’ve been trying to drink water in the night when it happens but I’m already up so much for the toilet it’s never ending 🤣 I’m going to try all of the above and see if I can get any better relief!
She tells me that books apparently are good to prop it up with.

She also, btw, says that mastitis can be relieved by having a hot bath and putting cold flannels on your boobs. YMMV. Could be a Wheeto sock a la Aunty Barb situation that one.

Soooo unrelated, but what does YMMV? Is it a regional thing?
It's proper frying my brain🤣

Your mileage may vary! Took me ages to figure it out first time I saw it online 😂

Not weird at all, I appreciate you thinking of me! ☺ would be interested in whether anyone has felt pressured into an ECV, as the consultant I spoke to before my growth scan sounded like she would favour that over a C section but I really don’t fancy it…

@imtakingabath (it’s funny, because this is what I’m actually doing 😂) do they know what kind of breech you are? Are they going to attempt to turn? They wouldn’t turn me because his foot was obviously down, and I think the percentage of him turning was 2-3%. Tbh, he was a menace then and is a menace now. I hope you are not in for the same 😂 he is a lovable little rouge though!

I don’t think we need to say no advice but use your own judgement when taking advice from others - checking with your trust about what is acceptable for a GTT or when to call about reduce movements for example, as like you say every trust is different which makes it hard to know you’re saying the correct thing anyway. We are all just trying to find little ways to muddle our way through pregnancy and not end up down a Google hole.

Please can someone help me with really bad heartburn though 😅 it’s got so bad in the last few days, every time I eat it just burns and I feel so acid-y. Overnight has been the hardest 😭 I’m taking Gaviscon as and when I need to but does anyone else have any tips? I did try a glass of milk but not sure that did much 🫠
I found full large yogurt helped with my heart burn 😊

I lived off Rennies, and I used to down gaviscon by the bottle with my 6yo. Obviously don’t do what I did without professional advice, but it worked at 2am in the morning when everything I ate sat on my chest

I have my glucose test tomorrow and I’m already panicking about not being able to eat until midday. I normally have my breakfast by 7am 😂

I didn't mention this yesterday as I didn't want to make you worry unnecessarily, but my first consultant was quite pushy towards the ECV. We found out baby was breech at 38+5, which was a Friday. They said I could have the weekend to think about it (they knew I wasn't sure) and on the Monday I got a call from a midwife to say they could do the ECV that afternoon. At that point I just said I'd decided to go with an elective C-section, and that was that, so in the end I felt heard but I think it would have been easy to get swept away. I was the same as you, the stats and risks for me personally didn't feel right (everyone is different) so just advocate for yourself and trust that you're making the right decision for you and your baby, whatever that is!

I can’t live without omeprazole atm it’s been a lifesaver. Was prescribed no fuss at my request. If I forget to take it boy do I feel it!

Has anyone been on citalopram whilst pregnant? I’m trying to conceive but not ready to come off meds and a bit worried when reading online!

I feel like I need to give a disclaimer after all of the drama: not a medical professional, this is just my experience and your trust may advise differently.

I wasn’t on any form of antidepressants when I fell pregnant but do have extensive mental health history (a bingo full house with all of the conditions listed in the green book). My midwife said there are antidepressants which are considered safe during pregnancy. Obviously, there’s little research due to ethical issues, but her point was that it’s easier to wean a baby off of them if they do end up being born dependant on them (very rare) than it is to try and save a baby if the mother is struggling so much she takes her own life.

I was thinking about mentioning this at my next appointment because I am struggling at the moment.

thank you for commenting, hope you’re okay. I was thinking that because I’ve tried to go down to one every other day the past few weeks and my anxiety has been awful and it’s really affecting me. So gone back up to one every day!! Know Id feel awful without them so I feel like that would definitely be worse for a baby. Congrats on the pregnancy!

Not citalopram but I take fluoxetine. My GP told me to try to reduce it as it has a very small chance it could cause heart defects in baby so I reduced it basically until I came off of it. My midwife & obstetrician told me I didn’t need to do that as it’s perfectly safe to take in pregnancy. It’s confusing & conflicting to say the least! But I would say if I could go back I wouldn’t have stopped taking it as I’m struggling mentally now.

Yes I take it but I am planning to talk to my midwife at my appointment next week. They have always said it’s fine however I saw on another page that new mums and babies were having to be kept in hospital 72 hours for monitoring and that you couldn’t breastfeed whilst on it. Apparently it’s a new rule so I’m planning to ask about this as I want to BF and if that’s the case I’ll have to potentially ween myself off before then

---

As per discussions last night this could be different from one trust to another but those are questions to have in mind I guess!

I second this 🙂 please speak to your midwife or doctor if you want advice or are struggling - the health of mum is always a priority, so they'll want to find a medication/therapy that works for you. As someone else said, lots of medications can't be proven to be completely safe as it's unethical to test on pregnant women, but there are plenty of medications (for a range of physical and mental health issues) where the potential risks are so low that on balance it's preferable for mum to take them than not. Look after yourselves 🙂

Positive induction stories please? Baby cheese is getting their eviction notice in 2 weeks time... Eeep.
My second was induced at 39 weeks and it was pretty quick and straightforwards... I can't quite remember the details lol but it was definitely less than 12 hours from the pessary I had. I went on a walk (probably too far, don't know what I was thinking!! I did 17000 steps :ROFLMAO:) outside of the hospital, came back and my waters broke, went on the drip and she was born fairly soon after that. We were back to back so it was painful but I managed with just gas and air. I think if the same thing happened again I might ask for an epidural this time. I was put off before because of the experience of my first birth, plus they said it might slow/stop things progressing. Then again, I just sort of wanted it all over with as quickly as possible so maybe not :ROFLMAO: I certainly wouldn't be worried about having another induction x
