The new baby bubble is just so lovely also if I've any advice relating to hospital bags etc, it would be to pack more muslins and nappies than you think you will need! I've been in hospital since Wednesday and packed my bag based on a list from the hospital but I've had to send himself out for more supplies. Might be worth considering having a back up bag packed if that's a possibility!

This is great advice! I ended up being in for five days with my first and my bag lasted us about 1 day hope you’re doing okay and you get to leave soon

I always leave a bag in the boot of a car with extra bits in! Thankfully I’ve never needed it but tbf, having them close to hand when you get home is handy too

When I was packing my bag, I was trying to avoid overpacking and bringing too much so I literally stuck to the list they gave us but then I suppose the other side of it was I didn't expect to be kept in as long either, I'm fast learning there's never enough muslins though

An extra bag in the car would have been ideal, it would have been much handier them trying to send a clueless man off in search for nipple compresses and big pads

Another question guys as this is my first. I'm having some regular cramping across my lower abdomen which has been radiating into my inner thighs and bum. Im 33 weeks.. could this just be Braxton kicks or pelvic girdle pain? Just find it strange that it's radiating into my thighs

I have the same problem ! We’ve been trying on and off the last month of shutting them out but they just scratch and meow at the door and sound so sad hubby’s worse about it than me and just let’s them back in..

I’ve brought the snuzpod in the bedroom some evenings for a bit just before bed to see how they are around it and both just want to jump in it

Hoping when baby comes along they’ll just be scared of a crying pooping machine at first and won’t want to be in the bedroom anyway

When we had our first I started locking the cat downstairs, but depends on your house layout whether that would work for you!
Both times we’ve had a baby the cat has loved their crib/playmat/nursing chair/next2me etc this time he loves the changing mat too

If it’s any consolation @WeepingCassandra he is still super cuddly with us the rest of the time so he isn’t holding a grudge for being kicked out the bedroom at night time

We’ve only really got the living room they could stay in as the rest is open plan. Hoping if we put the throw they like sleeping on in the other bedroom they’ll settle in there!

For those of you with cats, just see what they do once you bring the baby home. Don't stress too much beforehand. My cat slept on my bump for 5 months, he must have got used to the baby then, he'd get in the Moses basket to warm it up then get out when I needed to put the baby in.
If I laid him down on the sofa next to me for a nap, cat would just like down on the arm near him, or curl up by his feet.
Cat never once went to lay on him at all. Funny thing is son is now 31 and always been a cat man, they love him, we joke about it to this day that all started before he was born.

Was hoping my girl cat would be more interested in me but no difference with her! So odd as with my first pregnancy (early miscarriage) she was a completely different cat and would spend hours on my lap or near me until I was no longer pregnant.
She doesn't sleep in our room anyway so won't be any upset to her when baby is here but our boy cat sleeps at the end of the bed
him being a snuggler I just don't know how much I could trust him to be in the room with us and baby when we're all asleep

They're funny creatures anyway and always do what they want, they can be different one month to the next however old they are. I've had cats since about 6 years old, I'm 54 now, I can honestly say I have never had 2 the same.
I'd say don't expect the worst or pre judge what will happen to anyone with a cat, in the first few weeks it's likely nobody will be getting much sleep and with all the new monitors and equipment there is nowadays, most folk seem to have the baby in their room till at least 6 months or more it seems. Xx

Totally see your point but one of our cats is super clingy, like wants to sit on your face and lick it 24/7 clingy XD He's already been in the moses basket and I really don't trust him not to get into the bedside cot with the baby when we're asleep! The other one is a bit more skittish and we're more worried that he'll be startled if the baby wakes up in the night and starts crying, more for his mental health than the baby that one.

Plus they were rescues and we think they were given up because their owner had a baby and couldn't manage the three of them together which isn't a great sign...

Oh bless you. And them. They're very resilient adaptable creatures so just give them time. I can understand in a busy world of managing a newborn and animals how someone could struggle tho. I was lucky, my little cat was a superstar with baby. I have a 12 year old girl now & she's son's bestie even at his age. I hope you find a solution all ways round so you're all happy x

My dogs haven’t- one is slightly more protective of me on walks but other than that they still try trample all over me they know when every other woman in the world is pregnant except me it seems.

Does anyone have really bad congestion? The last 3-4 days I’ve woken up with my nose so blocked and full of dried blood. As if breathing isn’t difficult enough, I wake up like I’ve got a full blown cold. Any advice or tips to avoid appreciated.

Woken up feeling so sick. Pretty sure it’s a bug rather than pregnancy sickness as I’m 25 weeks and haven’t felt sick since I was about 14 weeks. Had to stay at home with my daughter last week because she had been sick so naturally feeling really worried about calling in sick myself.

When do we need to start monitoring movements and being concerned when they’re reduced? I’m 21 weeks and have been feeling movements from 19 weeks. He was less active last week than he was the week before, and I hardly felt him move yesterday.

You can call any time but they tend to say 24-28 weeks is when they start to get into a pattern as before then, they're still small enough that you may not feel them at all times.

Always call if you're worried though
