Has anyone had like a stomachs flipping sensation I have had it a few times the past two weeks could just be trapped wind xx
Are you wondering if they are movements? I had first movements at 16 weeks and they felt like this, like something rolling over low down in my tummy

Can’t remember if we’ve discussed this but anyone got any thoughts on getting the covid vaccine while pregnant? Don’t know if we’ll be offered it before we are all due but I’m leaning towards waiting to get it til after baby is born.

I haven't told my family yet. We had a private scan this time last week and was told I was 8+4, and I was tempted to tell them after that but my boyfriend's sister is due any day now and he said he wants to tell his family after her baby has arrived. I, on the other hand, would have told them before, so I am waiting to tell my family around the same time we tell his.
How did you find the private scan? I’m really excited for mine!

That is really good you can do it on zoom
Who knows maybe I will ask about this on Wednesday but my area is not the best I don’t think for this type of thing everything feels so hard to book and contact people x
Yeah definitely worth an ask, with my little boy the antenatal class details were at the front of my maternity notes, I've just had a quick look in my book and nothing is in there this time round so they must of took it out due to covid, they night give you details nearer the time as I think you only go on the classes nearer your third trimester (in my area anyway) xx

I was sick today whilst eating my breakfast so there’s a new one.

Took the day off work today. Don’t think my husband is happy about it but I was awake for hours in the night feeling sick and with a bad stomach and I feel rough.

We also have to have the front door open at all times and man the front desk for over 2 hour slots and I don’t think it’s fair to sit by an open door when the high today is 1 degree. I’m not putting myself through that when I already feel crap.
I sold not sit by an open door have you also had snow where you are it’s Baltic here (Midlands) I also woke up feeling ill again I haven’t had a day off yet but if the sickness continues I might have to because going on zoom looking very pasty is not great. I hope you have a nice cosy day x

try not to worry about any of it, some people are just soo lucky and their symptoms pass earlier than others it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong. Wait a week and you’ll have every symptom going and think you’ve jinxed yourself lol.
The sonographers will totally understand and be sympathetic because of the situation. Mine explained everything she could see and that really helped put my mind at ease.
Fingers crossed everything goes well for you tomorrow (if you’re early you’ll just have to go back again, that means 2 scans so more time seeing baby)
Oh really? That could be nice, although I'm sure the anxiety will still be there a week later!! 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Yeah totally get it - it’s a weird time at the best of times without all this going on! Are you WFH too - I think the isolation can make it harder in some ways. I’m due on 25 August according to my scan today. And yeah - I think between 11-14 weeks is recommended so hopefully you’ll be able to see a little baby! 🥰
I am, which is pretty unheard of in my job role so I feel very lucky. Although I think once lockdown is over I will be back to the office. Oh that's lovely I think I'd rather it at the end of August compared to the beginning of September, although I'm not sure why x

I’m cracking up 😂 I’ve got my midwife appt this morning at 10 (31+3) and just woken up so thought ooh I’ll go do my urine sample with my FMU. hahahaha did not realise it’s only 3.30, I genuinely thought it was about 7am and now I’m wide awake 😳 pls someone tell me that pregnancy insomnia disappears as you go later into the 3rd trimester 🙈
You guys can bring in your sample to your appointment? Here in the US, we have to pee right then and there at the appointment, needless to say my first appointment I was so nervous and dehydrated from feeling so poorly, I just couldn’t do it 🙈 so now I really have to pee at my next appointment, which puts even more pressure. Why is it so hard to pee on command? Ughh

This is a lovely thread 😊

I’ve had my 12 week scan appointment through. It says that my husband cannot attend but I can FaceTime him. It says that he is allowed to attend the 20 week scan.

Is this pretty much the same for everyone?
It's different with every hospital. In mine, you are allowed partners at both 12 and 20 week scans 😊

No, I didn’t and I won’t. I did have an appointment for it and whooping cough vaccine, but had to cancel when they shut the schools and haven’t rescheduled. I never get the flu vaccine usually in pregnancy, was just going to do it this year as they’ve asked people to. But by the time I’ll be able to get there flu season will be over.
What about whooping cough is that one everyone tends to have?

Check your works maternity policy. They can’t make you start leave too early.

I went off sick for a few weeks with anxiety due to the stress I felt being in a public facing role.
Ill check when I'm next in, I know it says about if you go off 4 weeks either before your confirmed maternity start date or due date they'll start maternity early but I can't remember which one it is! Thank you!

I’m a long way off it but I’ve been informed by my work that I should go off at 28 weeks and my manager said ‘oh but we use screens etc so you’ll be fine! Mentioned this to my midwife at the booking appointment and she said if there are any issues closer to the time she’ll write me an email stating I have to go off. Might be worth seeing if your midwife might do the same?
That's so so good they're gonna do that for you! My partner called my midwife for me when I was at work and they said to follow HRs policy 😢 we don't have any protective screens and very hard to social distance at times/no clean ventilation at all. I'm gonna call the midwife myself and tell them how bad it is to see what they advice x

Oh my god, I’m actually gonna wet myself when she pushes the thing into my stomach at the scan. I’m so desperate to go I could actually cry a bit.
I think you'll be fine if you let abit out they just need a bit of liquid in there not too much so you are uncomfortable xx good luck!!

Ive sent them links to all the websites stating that and they just insist it will be safe pending risk assessments. I just know they won’t even offer me the jobs and I’ll be without pay.
I’m so sorry to read about your father I hope all will be ok. Sending you love x

This was one of the emails I received and my response. I’ve sent further emails with links to the guidelines as I can’t see how they possibly think various classrooms in different schools is considered safe for a vulnerable pregnant employee. I’m not leaving it go and will continue speaking with them to try and get further clarity.
Yeah that just doesn’t sound right to me. I think that’s the best thing to do, to continue asking them for clarification around all of the guidance and why they don’t think that it applies. I feel for you though, it’s stress that you just don’t need!

Hi guys I'm 9 week and have been so sick and exhausted since week 5. I've been very Ill on previous pregnancies so I was so mentally struggling at the thoughts of the months ahead. However I've felt less sick in the last week. Still exhausted but hopefully that will lift soon too? Has anyone else experienced a really constant nausea and exhaustion on previous pregnancies and gone on to have a reasonably manageable one?
Sorry to hear you’re so feeling so unwell. Hopefully it stays away for you. Not me, but a friend had HG in two pregnancies and her third was fine.
If not, would you consider medication to try and manage the sickness? It’s the only way I’ve gotten through my last 2 pregnancies.

Anterior placenta here too! First baby and 22 weeks. Felt a couple of popping feelings but nothing else at all. Feels a bit disheartening when everyone else says they feel loads but my time will come 🤞🏻
I have an anterior placenta as well, first time (4th pregnancy) and I definitely didn’t feel as much early on as I would have done with the others. Now at 30 weeks and while it’s still not the massive movements of other babies, it’s definitely big movements now. Your time most definitely will come x

Anyone have any tips on how to stay sleeping on your side? I've got got pregnancy pillow and I can fall asleep in my side but everytime I wake up I'm on my back (this is how I always slept) it's worrying me because so many people have told me it's bad for the baby

Thanks everyone! I didn't bother getting it either but was wondering if I should before then end of the flu season but think I'll just leave it.
My whooping cough jab is booked for the same time as my 20 weeks scan so that's ideal for me

Hi guys nee to this thread
I am 16 weeks pregnant today
Has a scare the other day in the hospital with suspected blood clot on lungs but all scans came back clear
However I'm getting an awful tight feeling chest pain recently, may be indigestion but I just wanted to check if that's normal?
Sorry this is my first so sorry if that's a really stupid question
I agree with @WhatABore that chest pains aren’t normal.

Don’t think you can get it while pregnant or breastfeeding
