I had that with my last pregnancy in the last few months! It was horrible had to get drops and oils for my ear and nothing worked, praying I don’t get it this time 🙏🏼
Noo that’s awful! God I’ve been struggling with having it since lunchtime let alone months. I didn’t think oil in the ear would be advised but according to the NHS website it’s a thing - who knew

Yesterday I was really quite nauseous from moment I got up till about 12pm. Today it was noticeably less.

is that normal?

I am already dreading pregnancy. I’m on week 4 now. I remember it being uncomfortable and all the horrible side effects. The constant UTI’s, tiredness, hair falling out, morning sickness, my gums being sore, getting a rash all over my body. I struggle to see how I will get through the next 35 weeks :( It’s different this time as I’ve got a toddler to look after too and can’t just sleep all day
What’s the best app to track pregnancy? I know some of them do the days /
Months weirdly
I use this one.
I've used it with all pregnancies now 😊

I thought skin to skin and delayed cord clamping were in the NICE guidelines? They should be being done as standard unless there is a medical reason to take the baby away from the bed quickly to be assessed by paeds etc
Yes they are, I believe. My first two did need immediate attention which is why I didn’t get s2s or delayed clamping with them. But with my 3rd there wasn’t such a need (at section). That said, neither of us were the worse for wear from it

I’m doing the digital pack by the same company. Found it very good apart from the judgmental comments she made in one video about hospital vs home birth but I’m heavily biased as I work in a hospital and don’t see it as unsafe like she does!! Have enjoyed the course overall and it’s made me totally revise my birth preferences from being “all the drugs and lots of doctors please” 😂

Welcome and congratulations to the newbies!
Ive thought about doing the digital pack also. Are the videos mainly ones that area already on youtube?
Yeah alot of the reviews on the book mention about it being quite biased in favour of midwife led and home births, but i havent got to those bits so far. The tips about breathing and understanding how the uterus is working during contractions is really useful😊

When do people start buying stuff? I’m 15 weeks with my first and feel the need to buy something cute....

Wait until 20 week scan?

More brown blood today :( why can’t this just be stress free. I have blood like once a week. After losing the one, I’m so frightened about the other one :(

I’ve texted the midwife to see what she thinks.
Oh gosh, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about and the midwife will offer reassurance, but thinking of you x

I’m quite lucky with my maternity pay, I get 6 months full pay, 3 months SMP and can take an additional 3 months unpaid. I’m going to take 9 months and then a month of A/L. My work’s maternity policy is so complicated to read, I had to read it a few times and show it to my mum before I understand what I actually got 😂
This is the same as mine, I'm still undecided if I want to take 9 or 12 months off - need to figure out asap really since I'm due in May and they need to hire for cover.

I'm planning on working up until 39 weeks, take 5 days holiday then start maternity at week 40.

I have this one since early second trimester. Keeps its shape reasonably well, washable cover and stops me rolling into my back. The benefit of it being U shaped is you can turn from left to right in the night without having to move the pillow too!

That’s the one Iv got too and I agree it’s really good! Worth the money xx

Hey! I'm only 17 weeks but went from being fairly active before pregnancy to almost nothing except a few longish walks during first trimester as the exhaustion was horrendous. Finally feel like I'm coming out the other side now and starting to work out has made me feel much better. I hate the feeling of not having moved properly for so long!

I have an exercise bike at home so I'm aiming to ride at least 20-30 mins 4-5 times a week plus some yoga/pilates type stuff which it's starting to feel like I NEED to do as my hips and legs get so stiff from sitting around all day. And walking a few times a week too.

However the sugar addiction is real! Currently on my second bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes which are horrifyingly sugary but just so good!

Someone mentioned leggings- I ordered some Love Leggings and they were horrendous, not supportive at all and slipped down. I usually love my compressive Gymshark leggings but they are getting a bit too restrictive now. I've ordered a pair of leggings off Amazon called 'Sinophant' which aren't maternity but are high waisted and apparently super stretchy as the size is S-L! Only 11 quid too so will see how they fare...
Thanks for the legging info I am only 5ft 4 gym shark are so long for me but I will have a look on Amazon. Zara made these amazing ones called limitless contour but they don’t sell them anymore how annoying x

Going by my period dates my due date is the 1st Sept, but my early scan showed I was about a week behind and they said 8th. My cycles have varied in length so it makes sense. Omg yes fizzy drinks and fizzy sweets! Nope I can't stomach veg either, but fruit is still ok so I'm trying to eat as much of that as possible to try and balance out all the crap I'm eating! 🤦🏼‍♀️ When is your 12 week scan? Mine is the 16th, but I think I will only just be 11 weeks then so not sure if I'll have to go again
On my early scan at 5-6 weeks I didn’t have an internal scan and could see the shapes and heart beat using an ultra sound I think you will be able to see at 11 weeks. If I had gone by lmp I would have been much further mine is on 19th I will be 12 weeks by then xx

Im the same haha. Can I do aerobics? Is my shower too warm? Can I do a gentle yoga video on youtube (some of them specifically state not in first trimester, but i dont understand why). Can I have mozzarella and goats cheese on my pizza? Haha 😂 i cant wait for second trimester!
Yep exactly this! The other day I was hanging around in the kitchen for ages before I could make dinner Googling whether I could have parma ham on my pizza 😂

I went for my 20 week scan yesterday and was offered a transvaginal scan on the spot to check the length of my cervix. It was put to me as entirely optional and I declined (I like to be mentally prepared for these things!) but I’m regretting it now. Does anyone know how important it is and if I might get the chance to have it done later on? I’m feeling really guilty now, I just wish they’d told me sooner that it would be offered.
Have you ever had LLETZ/2nd/3rd trimester loss/birth difficulties like second stage CS or instrumental delivery? A friend of mine had special cervical scans as she had had a second stage CS following failed ventouse and she had cervical incompetence (thinned cervix). It’s certainly not routine but there are risk factors that they offer it for (don’t know them all of the top of head, just from what my friend has told me about it)

Hope your midwife can reassure you and all is ok ❤ I wonder if the strain of being sick has unsettled your tummy? I hope you're ok xx
