I agree. With that in mind, I can’t feel a whole lot of sympathy for the mother, who was neglectful at best.
That seems a bit unreasonable. I have a friend who was abused as a child by a family friend. Their parent's didn't know. They were groomed as well. Let's not place blame anywhere other than where it needs to be - with the abuser.

Someone already mentioned we should use this recent Jack Monroe thread title for the next Philth thread title.

Thread title suggestion:

Phillip Schofield #32 Tattle Was Right About Everything All Along!

He only made a statement as the story was going to break with or without him. His recent humiliation has left him rather vulnerable, a time in which the media love to prey on people, therefore he has no protection to prevent the story we already knew about from breaking. I do think the press need to stop picking at this scab and leave the man alone. He's lost his career, and is now known for what he really is, so it should be left there before the man ends up topping himself. If there is a legal matter to answer to, the chap he was involved with all those years ago should speak to a solicitor, then the police.
If he ‘tops himself’ that’s on him. He acted on his perversions. He knew what he was doing was wrong yet indulged himself . What about his victims? Don’t they deserve to see him get his comeuppance? I’m tired of hearing people saying oh poor Philth. He’s bought this on himself and it’s been a long time coming. The only people I care about are those who he’s abused

Agreed. I’ve seen this online ever since the Caroline Flack tragedy, people basically saying if you call out an individual’s bad behaviour they’ll take their own life. It’s gaslighting

Cheating on your wife is not a crime. What we are being breadcrumbed is that what he has done IS a crime. The media will play it very carefully because they have to. He is pulling on the last strings he can do and then he’s done. This isn’t an isolated incident, this is who he is - an insidious, toxic, groomer. I really hope MM is getting support now and I think everyone in this thread is throwing a lot of love and support behind him. Bless MM.

Erm how long is it since Liz Kershaw was on radio 1!?
I’m pretty convinced Ruth’s complaint about PS’s bullying was about MM (or at least in part). He was passed to her at Loose Women, wasn’t he?

TV bosses got rid of Eamonn & Ruth, and MM, to protect and back Brand Schofield, Willoughby and This Morning. Can you imagine facing such power if the authority in all this (itV) acts inappropriately to defend such a person? The ethics at itv must be in the sewer.

Grooming is not illegal either unless it leads to sex with someone under 18 or financial abuse
You want to spend a day doing my job. You'll see first hand the impact it has on young people for the rest of their lives.

I really don’t see why Eamonn is being cast as a villain for not outing this story himself. He’s one of the only people who has ever openly criticised PS while everyone else just put up and shut up.

Is everyone forgetting what Alison and Dermot said about him THIS WEEK during the tribute? But yet it’s Eamonn who is at fault??
Are people forgetting the power Philth had at ITV?? One word from him could do serious damage to careers of people who dared to disrupt his narrative. I don’t blame them at all.

As well as all the grooming stories this will run and run. We will have all the bullying stories coming out as well.

Lots for the media to unravel.

Simon Schofield and his theatre school, with all those kids
Phil has apparently been living with a male escort for the last three years, assume that Ben guy. That Ben guy is a suspect character - had police run ins etc.
PS being gay was open series (Joan Collins inadvertently confirmed that) - expect others to emerge
His wife - what was her role? What did she know?
Ant n Dec, Holly…real close friendships

Eggs on faces for Clodagh, Richard E Grant, Charlene White (isn’t she meant to be a top class journalist but didn’t know anything about PS?), Vanessa, Piers

I’ve never understood why Lorraine and the rest have the school holidays off. Their ‘kids’ are adults. Not sure how old Holly’s are.
It's to give us all a break. I think I enjoy Lorraine's holidays more than she does.

Everyone knew at itv, after what happened with his brother they all realised shit was going to hit the fan and they was all a target to be dragged down with him, Holly would be a fool to return to This Morning now he's admitted the truth.
It’s definitely untenable for Holly to stay on TM. In fact, TM is just now untenable, full stop.

It is illegal to have sex with those under 18 or watch sexual images of those under 18, none of which is in dispute. However there is also no evidence Schofield engaged in either activity. Unfortunately some on here with IQs of 2 figures or less can't understand that and the difference between what may be ill judged behaviour and illegal behaviour
We do understand the law. We just find his behaviour repulsive whether it was illegal or not.

The reaction from ITV, the management company and his former colleagues are out of all proportion to an affair between two consenting adults even if one was very young. There must be more to come.

The point is there is no evidence he is a paedophile as some on here were alleging earlier in a libellous fashion and certainly no evidence he committed illegal paedophilic sexual acts with someone under 18
There actually is evidence. He followed MM on Twitter when the boy was 15 years old. MM then started referencing him and saying ‘thanks for the follow’ and other Tweets which PS did not reply to until a week after MM turned 18. Funny, that!!

I mean, do you go around following 15 year old boys / making flirty comments on social media?? I know I don’t.

I'm absolutely not defending what PS may or may not have done but I suspect he's being hung out to dry because there's too much that's been covered up! Many years ago being gay was a criminal offence let's not forget. A relative of my childhood pal took their life in the 1960s due to their sexuality. They lived in a tiny village and people were quick to judge and gossip.
I don't see what him being gay has anything to do with it. It's his fondness for young lads that's the problem, not him being gay. The vast majority of gay people don't abuse kids, just the same as the majority of straight people don't. Wish we could leave the fact he's gay out of it, it's irrelevant.
