Google is telling me that about 1-5% of all men are paedophiles. It's hard to get an accurate figure for obvious reasons. And some of them "just" look at child porn and may not actually go onto abuse. But even so on average, each one of us will have 1 or more paedos in our circle. And each of us, again on average, will probably walk past several in the street every day. From my time in the criminal justice system, I can attest that some are quite young (in their 20s) and perfectly nice looking/charming. They have good jobs and even girlfriends.

So I don't think it's a stretch to think that YES the local scoutmaster/football coach/teacher could well be a paedophile. As we are seeing with PS and Savile, they are often hiding in plain sight. Indeed, they could be the local GP or, let's face it, church minister.

In fact, I doubt I would allow my child to attend sleepovers at other children's houses. I'd be a bit unhappy about them going to scout camp but I do have to balance that with keeping them wrapped up in cotton wool. It's very difficult.

Just to politely point out, I think the preferred term is indecent images of children rather than child porn - porn is a consensual thing and that obviously can’t be the case if there are children in the pictures/videos.

I do get where you’re coming from - I work adjacent to the criminal justice system and I’m the victim of sexual abuse but I can’t go through life thinking every male could be a paedophile or child abuser. Just talking about myself here but if I had that in my head I think I would be thinking I could see that in someone even if it wasn’t there. I have a non-verbal child in school - I would drive myself nuts if I thought every teacher, driver, bus escort, dinner person was one of those who took that job to get close to kids.

Keeping on the topic of Schofe, is it worth hoping there will be a summer cull and he gets the boot then or is it just another waste of time given he’s like bloody Lazarus?

I speak from experience that I felt very much an adult in my teens, any decision I made was my own, it was cool at 14 to have a 21 year old bf, it was ok when I had family troubles that my friends creepy older brother gave me brandy and weed and had sex with me when I was so high. Philip uploaded a photo of himself with Ben’s dog to his Insta stories fairly recently, so I’d say so. Rather than an actual relationship though I think they have an arrangement of some kind because it’s quite obvious Ben is high end escort IMO. I’m guessing he shags Phil who keeps him in the lavish lifestyle he’s become accustomed to. Ben isn’t one to be trusted given his past behaviour and he will not be silence and shipped off like MM was. He could well be Philth’s downfall.
