I think it has to be re-stated, the issue with PS is absolutely not that he’s gay. And there is also no connection with being gay and being a paedophile or a groomer. There are proportionally just as many heterosexual paedophiles and groomers in this world. The issue here is that a 50-60 year old man with great fame and wealth has allegedly used that position to charm, beguile and have an affair with an innocent and vulnerable teenager. And it seems that some of his colleagues in the presenting world did not like this at all. But ITV, instead of getting rid of PS, got rid of the presenters who stood up for MM. That is extraordinary. It reeks of a cabal at the top of ITV who cover up for PS. You have to ask yourself why? Who are these people? Why would they sack decent popular presenters like Ruth and Eamonn who appear to have stood up for MM and cover up for PS?

The way the Daily Mail are playing around reminds me of the completely weird story about Holly calling police to report her car had been stolen and then it mysteriously appeared outside of her husband's office or something. Then the story was dropped like a hot brick.

Apparently the press behave this way when there is a big story they are desperate to spill but can't.

So with that in mind, what was the truth about Holly and the car? It was so weird! Maybe she sticks by Pip to protect her own secrets?

Her husband Dan was having an affair and drove the car. Apparently she called the police reporting it stolen to send a signal to him that she knew what he was up to. It was in the secret celeb gossip thread I’m sure.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I could be completely wrong, but beneath that sugar coated exterior, Holly strikes me as a very ruthless, ambitious woman. I reckon she knew exactly what she was doing befriending ‘Mr ITV’ all those years ago. It’s opened a lot of doors for her (for example, IIRC he insisted she get the TM gig after Fern left or he’d walk). I will agree they’re not best buddies any more, but she got where she wanted to be because of him, so I doubt she regrets it completely.

For all the terrible aspects of the Social Media age we now live in, one good thing is that it does make corruption a lot harder to sweep under the rug.
Not to say it can't be done, but I think it's doing its job with Schofield.

I don't know if Savile would have got away with it if there had been social media back in the day, it just seems like this hyper-connected world we now live in makes it so much harder to put the genie back in the bottle.

Google is telling me that about 1-5% of all men are paedophiles. It's hard to get an accurate figure for obvious reasons. And some of them "just" look at child porn and may not actually go onto abuse. But even so on average, each one of us will have 1 or more paedos in our circle. And each of us, again on average, will probably walk past several in the street every day. From my time in the criminal justice system, I can attest that some are quite young (in their 20s) and perfectly nice looking/charming. They have good jobs and even girlfriends.

So I don't think it's a stretch to think that YES the local scoutmaster/football coach/teacher could well be a paedophile. As we are seeing with PS and Savile, they are often hiding in plain sight. Indeed, they could be the local GP or, let's face it, church minister.

In fact, I doubt I would allow my child to attend sleepovers at other children's houses. I'd be a bit unhappy about them going to scout camp but I do have to balance that with keeping them wrapped up in cotton wool. It's very difficult.

Interesting stats, but that means 95 - 99% of men not paedophiles. Just saying. I had great fun at Scout Camp - nothing happened. Great teachers too - nothing happened. Football coach - couldn't kick a ball to save my life so can't comment.

Others can disagree but social media etc has made us think paedos are on every street corner. You do have to trust people to be good at times.

Not meaning to offend, just wanted to put another point of view - I'd hate kids to be locked up at home, interaction with others helps them grow.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Holly’s PR are pushing hard with these stories too. The best thing for Holly is still fronting it with flavour of the month AH, with PS pushed out. Seems odd that Holly is all over AH all of a sudden. Inviting her to join her established set of friends. Slowly distancing herself. Showing irritation with him on screen - that would have been unthinkable a while back. Dropping the management company. She knows she made a mistake being so supportive when he came out. She will have heard from others how hated he was. She will have seen social media. She knows that his image is forever tarnished, particularly now he admitted that his brother confessed his crime to PS and he did nothing. Shingles my arse. She has been playing the long game.
