... and with the breaking news from the Bank of England that a recession is about to hit & interest rates etc. are going up - looks to be a pretty terrible time to be getting a high interest mortgage!

See tbh I actually do wish them well. Hope they get a house etc. I think alot of people on here are trying to point out that the way she/they were spending when in the midst of a mortgage application just wouldn't look good to a lender especially with the history of not paying debt. Everyone gets excited and buys things in advance but bulky items would just make moving day a bigger pain in the a.

It went to best and final, they probably had a lot of offers. I highly doubt they got it if they only offered 2k over asking price

I doubt that the seller would have went to a closing date if they were getting no viewings/potential buyers. I reckon most people will have went AT LEAST £5k over so doubt they’ll have got it x
