Why is she getting her solicitor to put in the offer for her, is that normal in Scotland?
Yes. We'll we gave our verbal offer via the estate agent and once this was accepted it had to be followed up by occipital offer from our solicitor. I guess it shows you are a serious buyer.

I think she’s just spinning absolute lies, why would they advise her to see the house first. Yes most normal people would view the house before offering but surely if your a seller and someone offered you would either accept or decline. She’s playing a game and trying to keep everyone hanging on. My guess is on Friday the “other party” will outbid her and that will explain why they didn’t get the house.

To be honest if I was selling my house I wouldn't accept an offer unless they viewed the property first. She's going to look so desperate putting an offer in at the actual viewing!
If I was the seller I’d want to know they were serious before accepting. How can they possibly be committed without having seen it, therefore I would say the same and wait for them to view it before accepting etc. What are the chances they view it and don’t like the road it’s on or something. I doubt they’ve done a drive by to check out the area.
Absolutely bizarre that they’re making an offer on the first house they will have viewed so no good comparisons yet. So misguided. She’s impulsive to say the least.

Where did they find the broker? I know it was mentioned on her about his fees, but I wonder if he is just leading them down the path. They don't exactly hide the fact they (she) like somewhere so he could just be putting them through it for an easy £££ when he knows they'll get rejected or won't get the house
I think you don’t normally have to pay brokers (that charge a fee) unless you get offered the mortgage
The house owners are not going to accept the offer and effectively take it off the market until it’s been viewed as they don’t want to waste time. If they accept the offer and then dumb and dumber view it and change their mind and pull out the owners could have turned other buyers down during that time. They’ve made themselves look desperate and put themselves in a vulnerable position, you never view a house too keen! You leave ‘thinking about it’ it’s all a game!
She honestly doesn't have a clue and all this pish about not paying over the odds is hilarious. If you want a house in this market you need to put your hand in your pocket. Yes the market has cooled a tiny little bit but money talks and the sellers are hardly greedy for wanting the best price. Fast forward however many years when Abby is selling her 'forever home' and she will be giving it 'well we spent this on it and upgraded that so I'm not accepting any less than blah blah'.

I don't understand how wanting the most for your home is greedy! The sellers will more than likely need all the equity for their new home and rightly so, everything has gone up. I'm not sure how I came across this account but I cannot stop watching... Stocking up on home and kitchenware for your first home, I get, you're starting from scratch but when you already have a home and the goods, save every last bit you can and use it as towards the deposit, not £10k on Spanish holidays! I may be from a different part of the UK but £70k could be a deposit or even a loan for most, not the whole damn thing!
