So I previously said my biggest problem is cats doing their business on my front lawn…well yesterday I witnessed my next door neighbours cat poop on my lawn. This morning they kindly mowed our lawn (part of it is theirs so we take it in turns) HE ONLY WENT AND MOWED AROUND HIS OWN CATS rit AND LEFT IT 😑😂

See I think I’d be able to cope better with noise if I knew it was going to happen, and also had an idea of when it would end. I’d also be more comfortable saying something if it went past midnight like they had said. It’s a bit late for any noise prior to the note but at least they’re leaving.
Yep I think if you KNOW it will be noisy, then you opening the communication with people is only polite. You're also giving them a hotline if the noise is ridiculous which I think sometimes can be the most frustrating part. Sitting not knowing how long something will be going on and not knowing how someone will react if you complain is the worst

Just had to knock and tell my neighbours daughters boyfriend to move his crappy souped up loud AF car as he had blocked my car in and parked at the end of my drive.
What goes through peoples head as they do this? Can’t they see we can’t get in or out?

there is parking bays Free for them to use and he chooses to block us in? Is he taking the piss?
This is the same boy racer piece of tit who wakes us up almost every night dropping her off at 2,3,4am!!
How is it fair to wake people up because you want a loud car? Honestly not going over the top here but I can hear him a quarter of a mile away so when he’s revving it at 3am outside my bedroom window I’m obviously going to be pissed off right?

so now he thinks it’s a game and probably wanks himself off thinking about revving his car outside my house and NOW parking so I’m blocked in... they were laughing as they walked off into her house.

When my husband knocked the smile was wiped off her stupid face and she apologised and he came out 10 min later and parked in a bay, where he should have just gone in the first place.
How hard was that you young piece of tit!!!!??

We are the type of people who never do anything to piss anyone off or make a scene, we are so quiet and just keep to ourselves.
Why is it that we can’t even use our own drive now? What else do they want to take off us? We can’t use the garden as they are partying and out there 24/7 so we feel like we are intruding if we even cut the grass when they’re out there. As their gardens are full every day and night with people.

I can’t wait to sell this place, I’m going to be so sad because we have worked so hard on this house remodelling every single thing but I can’t stay here.
I can’t relax for even a second ever.
I’m sorry if I seem unhinged but having not one day or peace in a year and a half, I can’t calm down.
I have panic attacks out of no where.
I don’t know what to do honestly.

So sorry! Its not fair to feel like this in your own home. Its a really difficult situation when ppl are purposefully being annoying, u can react and they do it or u can ignore and they still do it. There never seems to be an easy solution 😕

So sorry to hear this, I know how it feels and exactly what you mean about being the type of people that never bother anyone else, we’re the same. It makes it even more upsetting when people seem to deliberately go out of their way to make your life miserable to the point you can’t relax in your own home.

we’re in much the same situation. We’re working on our debt and then savings, hoping to be in a detached house in the next few years with a bit of space around us, the dream. I do hope things get better for you x

Thank you, I know this isn’t a big deal to most people but I’m just absolutely sick now.
Always worried what’s going to happen next.
I wake myself up shaking because I just never know.
These people don’t work so there is never a problem with them drinking til late and having karaoke or fancy dress parties on a Tuesday night, just can never predict what’s next.

Cant wait to live somewhere people are quite normal during the week like you’d know on a Sunday night you can probably relax a bit because people are at work tomorrow etc...
They have PA system speakers suitable for concerts in their houses, so at times they just whack that on full blast honestly I’m a nervous wreck.
We are terraced houses so whatever they do I can’t escape.
I honestly feel like just running away from it all.

That’s what I was thinking well maybe ignore it but then I thought if we ignore it they’ll think it’s fine to do it again?
Thank you for being kind, I need to calm down a bit I think.
It’s just hard because I take it personally like they’re taking the piss out of us or purposely trying to annoy us.
I need to break that habit.
It’s more likely they just don’t care.

Ive felt the same way in the past. People think i overreact and "kids just being kids" but the main ringleader, although hes only a child is horrible. I think it all stems from neglect by his drunk mother but why I should be subjected to it? On days I know hes outside i draw the curtains and try to ignore it. Its caused me terrible anxiety and i feel stupid because it is a child but people dont understand unless they experience it.
There was a time where every time i would come home in the car he would stand behind my car as i reversed or sit on my drive so i couldnt get on. As much as I wouldve loved to flatten the little b@$tard, the worry of hitting him and what would happen used to make me ill! I spoke to the local police officer and he didnt care at all. All i wanted was it noted if he DID ever get hit by me or some other unfortunate soul that he had been playing chicken!

Its just horrible how little respect people have for each other. I was brought up to be considerate. I feel guilty hoovering at 9am! 😂 I turn my radio off when I start the car in the mornings. Its just a little bit of effort which makes peoples lives less stressful

Just had to comment as I've been in a similar situation. I felt like I was going crazy as it took over my life but unfortunately I developed anxiety as a result which is still with me.

Anyway something happened with the neighbours and I sold up. I took a small loss on the value to get a quick sale but I'd do it 100 times over. It didn't feel like my home anymore as I couldn't relax or feel safe there. Running away isn't always the answer but for me it worked wonders for my mental health and happiness.

Good luck xx

It's so sad isn't it! Imagine being that bothered by what someone else has done to their house that you rush out and do the same. Gates are not cheap either they must be green with envy 🤣 My husband used to say I was imagining it, but when the copying became obvious he had to agree it was more than coincidence. These are a young couple too. They need to get a grip 🥴🤣 They rent their house so can't copy everything - thank god!!
We have the same too, but these neighbours we don’t get along with. For no reason in particular, they just don’t seem to like us. I think it might be be because we own our house and they don’t? We’re a young couple, they’re middle aged but for some reason if we wash our car, they wash their cars, if we water the plants, they water their plants straight after. We jet washed our patio one day, and the next day I saw her walking past with a jet washer in a box having just bought one and then went on to jet wash her patio!! I can even remember last year when we paid to have our windows cleaned, (a luxury for us, it costs a lot in my area for some reason) they had theirs done a few days later by the same person. My husband thinks I’m crazy knowing that they do everything the same as us, says I’m a creep by watching them out the window 🤣 but surely they’re the creepy ones not me 🤣

Oh my word 🤣🤣🤣🤣 probably thought it was someone else’s cats poo…’not my job’ 🤣

Hurry up lotto win so l can move to the countryside & live in peace. With no neighbours! If only!

weekend from hell with the neighbours.
Party all weekend! Vomit on driveway. Broken glass. People coming & going. Car doors slamming. Engines reving. People shouting. Alexa being shouted at over & over again! Got to the point l was ready to go out & tell Alexa to “F Off!” Drunken singing gave me a headache! Honestly l don’t mind a party. Would just like some warning beforehand. I couldn’t sit in my own garden nor could dogs go outside. Everytime l let them out. Barking would commence as some drunk people would lean over the fence. Or they would walk up down beside the fence setting the dogs off. One drunk male thought it would be a good fun idea to bark in at the dogs & annoy them. Why do people do that? No need for it.

I don’t think they realise I have a camera so if they want a print out of him taking the dump I’ll happily post it through their door 🙃🤣

The neighbour's son who swore and racially abused me is an absolute wet wipe. He watched 2 men reverse and damage his number plate from the window and didn't say a word. At first I assumed the noise must have been a plastic bottle but I've seen it has properly cracked and damaged the number plate!!!
But he has the balls to shout and swear at me? Okay hun 😂 😂

I am trying SO hard to save up so we can leave and buy our own home. We live in a very noisy area. I've suffered with people urinating, drug taking, parking in resident bays, throwing up, having parties from their cars until the early morning for years. This all happens on my doorstep. It seems to be getting worse every weekend. This isn't exactly neighbour problems but a neighbourhood one. People (drunk and sober) seem to think it is okay to do these things because we live here. I can assure you when my husband's family loved in 30 years ago, it was not like this!

This mixed with the hole neighbours is making me desperate to get out.

I’ll never forget coming home one night at 12am and seeing that my neighbour had set up a bucket and a piece of cardboard and made a make shift toilet on the front drive for her 30 guests.
I almost laughed but then I was confronted with a man pulling his pants down and I saw his pen.
All because it was lockdown so she didn’t want them using her toilet in the house so she set up a bucket out the front...

Am I living in the Truman show?

Exactly! They ended up calling 999 for the police at the end of our chat a few weeks ago. After the son purposely parked in front of the gate to block us in and refused to move his car because they didn't like us parking inside the courtyard. They must have felt like complete idiots when the police agreed it was not a police matter before coming to our home. Then when the police popped round to talk to us, I explained what happened with the neighbours, they returned next door to inform them that a crime had taken place by THEM. Friends and family keep saying I should have made a statement for the son to get arrested for a hate crime but at the time I just thought it would make things even worse.

I'm working on ensuring the correct procedures are followed with HA, land owner, noise complaints etc. Even now I can't help but think how pathetic it is. All because they were jealous we got a new car and was driving it under her home (onto land not owned by her and under a flying freehold property OWNED by a housing association 😂 😂 😂)

I get on fine with my neighbours, but one thing that really bugs me is they have a really long drive that could easily fit 3 cars and they only have one car. They are in their 60s and when their daughter visits he moves his car off the drive and parks on the street so she can park at the top of the drive. I don’t understand why she can’t just park behind him? She’s only there for a couple of hours at most and his car doesn’t move the whole time she’s there.

On Saturday they had friends and family over for a birthday party, so he moved his car and let daughter park at the top of the drive as always, he then parked in the drive right at the bottom and another guest parked infront of my house (whilst I was out) so when I came home I had to park along the end of the street. Why didn’t he just park right behind his daughter and let the other car park infront of him on the drive? Or vice versa?

It only bugs me as our street is really busy and not everyone has a drive (myself included) so parking can be difficult.

It’s worse at the moment as the two houses on the other side of this neighbour both have skips in their drives so they are parking on the street. You would think this would make my neighbour be a bit more mindful! They’re a nice couple but the kind you wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of so I’d hate to do anything to annoy them, I find myself checking my Ring doorbell before I come home so I can gauge where I’m parking 🙈

Our ongoing noise issue with our retired neighbours continues. A few weeks ago they decided to knock down their shed with a lump hammer then do some additional smashing up of it in the skip. This made it sound like a bomb going off. They then used their circular saw for days to replace it with more wooden crap.
He is now in the drive banging away making some other wooden monstrosity. It’s just never ending with the DIY and their garden is tiny!
We came home from a weekend away and even more fairy lights are up so it looks like Brighton pier at night with less class.
I cannot wait until our sale goes though I find even hearing them outside give me anxiety. They are still blanking us after my husband lost his rag in September and asked them for a day off from endless building. It’s just like many of us find here the total selfishness and as we’re in a terrace it reverbs through the walls.

Park on their drive, Apparently, it's legal to park on other people's drive as long as you are not blocking their drive.

I cannot imagine doing such a thing but oh wouldn't it be nice to sometimes get some own back.
