We've been in children's a&e twice in January because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a GP appointment. Both times it was fairly quiet, seen quickly enough, care was great. Hospital Doctor came and saw my son, gave us great advice, set up a referral of which I received an invite to a further appointment the next day. Wonderful care. Didn't seem like an NHS under pressure to me.

Surely the fact you couldn't get a gp appointment is an indication of some kind of issue with the NHS?
So, what are we looking at here? Let's say remove the fee for annual registration to practice nursing. Provide car parking spaces for employees, especially at unsociable hours when buses aren't running. Improve the staff rooms and ensure better catering facilities (Pru Leith was looking in to this last year). Make the shifts patterns more stable and predictable.
These are things that could be achieved and it sounds as though a break down in communication between nurses and NHS governors is preventing this. That or the governors just don't care.
Paying the annual membership for nurses is something that could easily be achieved and wouldn't cost that much considering most nurses now work at Aldi

You’ve used a service twice that’s there to provide care for life threatening/trauma injuries for something that could have been dealt with by a GP. If that’s not telling you the NHS is failing and under pressure I don’t know what will. Another case of I haven’t seen it so it mustn’t be happening.
Paeds ED is usually quiet until the schools kick out. I can only speak for adult medicine as that’s what I do, it’s very much under pressure and the service being provided is entirely suboptimal

They’ve probably volunteered, I can’t imagine turning up to work & being told I’m being sent to a different country because there’s been a disaster.

tbf I think the GP is a better judge of how to use their time than you.
I left the NHS it's a tit show , I got annoyed with not being able to provide the proper person centred care. It's a ticking timebomb , like it used to be rare to see 90-100 year olds but it's common now the eldest patient I've had was 107 !!!! People can live long time with complex conditions and high care needs . I moved to private unit it's me and another nurse to 8 patients. They have 1:1 for morning routines it's so much better honestly. Vs 2 nurses even 1 for 30 patients and 2 HCAs. I'm being honest it's going to get worse we have worked out how to ensure people live longer but not how to make them good quality years.

Honestly I don't think the NHS will survive , it was designed when people would die relatively quickly. Years spent in poor health was short, the projected number one cause of death will be dementia and that can take 10-15 years to die from. It will be high taxes or private healthcare.

I don't have a doctor on site where I am it's me making the clinical decisions , if someone is in status epilepticus it's me who starts the treatment It's me who administers insulin , glycogel, CPR, oxygen. I'm virtually alone well with 111 but that's a tit show.
I'm personally happy with my pay and staffing but that's because of where I work.

The time they have, yes possibly. When you’re underdoctored and underresourced then cases have to be triaged more effectively so doctors see the sickest people first. I think there’s many better ways things could be done but that requires proper resources, which you must know but seem to ignore
Can they suddenly make car parks free for staff. I would put money on them being sold off / leased to private companies along when labour did all that ppp loans stuff.
