He offered his services for freeMaybe ok if they are paying the specialist diving guy.
It wasn't you who set it up, was it?Very unpopular opinion. But if I was godforbid to go missing… I earn £500 a week in my bank nhs job. I would instantly not be being paid, as it’s bank. My husband would not be working, because of the obvious. We would instantly be financially fucked. So if the money is paying for bills and food on the table while they go through this horrendous time I have no issue with that. Missing or not bills need to be paid, and food on the table. She’s a mortgage broker, same as my hubby. No work is no money. Add in possible existing financial issues (which I wish everyone would stop judging them for!)…. Not everyone has savings. We don’t currently. What the family are going through is the worst of the worst. If financial burdens can be eased in this time for the sake of a load of people donating a fiver, why not? If you can’t afford to donate? Don’t.
also. As and when Nicola is found…. Whether drowned, murdered. Whatever you believe… if the money means the husband can spend the next year being with his girls every minute of the day to ease their mental suffering then I’m all for it. And if the money is put Away for the girls one day, it’s a small compensation fortheir mum being taken away that May one day make their life easier which will be bloody well deserved after the suffering they will go through.
And if they use it to pay for private investigations, speciality searches then good for them. If my family member was missing I’d leave absolutely no stone unturned and if I had to beg borrow and steal to do it then too bloody right I would.
You don’t have to donate. Yes some people can’t afford to heat their homes etc like ive seen people saying on twitter, but that will be the case go fund me or no go fund me. It’s not taking away from those people.
Sorry I’ll get off my soap box now…
have they changed the amount it now says £50kThat GFM being created has left a bad taste in my mouth and I am beginning to think of unlikely and ridiculous scenarios. £100k? When people are offering their services and volunteers searching for Nicola with their own free time at no charge? Taking the piss. If it does turn out to be a friend or family member there’s something off about the entire thing. Shannon Matthews springs to mind
Police don't charge for their services its their jobUsually when there’s a tragedy in my area anyways people make food, offer to cover childcare expenses or mind the kids and even the go fund me pages are created to cover the cost of unexpected funerals and support the remaining family members if they are in need but I’ve never seen such a specific amount being requested like this, surely the police & divers wouldn’t charge the family of the victims for their services would they?
Because she pinched the last line of my recap you mean?Maybe she's reading this forum...
I was thinking that 🫣wonder why they decided on 100kPolice don't charge for their services its their job
I agree with what you’ve said. I’m quite shocked at this actually. The money for the police search is coming from the public purse and the Specialist Forensic guy is doing his work for free?I detest GFMs, sickening that this situation is being monetised. It’s also sickening that Nicolas friend who appears on interviews is done up to the nines every. Single. Time.
I’m not expecting her to be looking as rough as arseholes but come on now
Nope not at all i live in Kent Don’t know the family from AdamIt wasn't you who set it up, was it?
Yes so it's been changed. I don't know if GoFundMe verify people's identity when they create a fundraiser. The GFM is showing the target as £50k now - was it £100k?
I don’t disagree with you, I would be totally fucked if I suddenly had no income (as would most people I imagine), but the thing that makes me nervous is the fact it’s a GFM and the fact it’s been set up by a ‘family friend’ for a huge amount of money when there’s no actual outcome yet of what has happened to Nicola.Very unpopular opinion.
