I don’t know what’s wrong with little crazy cat but she is choking and coughing on every single sip of milk from her bottle. She cannot drink anything and I don’t know what to do or what it is.
She’s always been bad at taking bottles but I’ve never ever know this.
GP? I guess
Did you hear anything back from the swallowing assessment?

Does she snore at all when she sleeps?
I wonder if it's tonsils/adenoids?
Although you'd think they've already checked that 🤔
She does if she’s congested but not normally. It has crossed my mind. I just don’t get it. She’s worse than ever she can’t drink an ounce without having to stop and cough after every sip. Poor girl ☹

OH just picked up Baby Bluebird’s foot and said “there are bones in there!” Like so surprised her teeny toes already have bones 🤣

Baby has a rash sort of all over, but he's fine in himself, a little cough but basically fine, very cheerful and eating well. He passed the glass test so I'm planning on just keeping an eye on it, I'm not being negligent am I?

Hi all I hope you don’t mind me posting just wondered if anyone could help?

I have a 6.5 month old baby who has been weening the past couple of weeks. All was going well with fruits and veggies so I started to introduce some breakfast foods the past few days. The kid will not touch formula so I have been mixing porridge and weetabix with cows milk (cooked it each time) she had had weetabix and porridge once or twice (barely ate any of it but it got on her face and in her mouth) however on Friday she had a reaction to weetabix and ended up with a red rash round her mouth and on her neck with white raised bumps. On Saturday I dabbed a bit of milk on her cheek as I had added some fruit purée from a pouch she had never had before to the weetabix on Friday, to check it was defo milk and she didn’t have a reaction. Fast forward to today and I was eating a babybel and she wanted a taste so I let her and she has got a rash shortly after tasting it (she didn’t swallow any).

Both times the rash has gone within half an hour and doesn’t seem to bother her. Does anyone whose child has a cows milk allergy think it sounds like that? One thing I can’t understand is when she was about 16 weeks old we experimented with combi feeding and she was fine off formula, no rashes and nappies were normal, but then she would just totally reject having it at all so has been ebf since then, so is it possible it was making her feel crappy and I just didn’t know?

Also I eat plenty of diary and we’ve had no issues breastfeeding, no reflux or anything like that? I’ll obv be taking her to the dr but I imagine it might take a long while to get any help so just wondering what other mums experiences have been with this as it’s my first baby?

Thank you and sorry this is so long!

Hi.
Yes mini Waka was on formula (issues but doctors aren’t interested in the reasons why) but it’s highly hydrolysed so so the cows proteins are much more broken down. These are stronger in dairy foods.
go to gp, get referral for allergy testing and dietician (you may need to have a chat about dairy ladders and hidden calcium in non dairy foods) but sounds like she’s intolerant rather than allergic.

@Crazycatlady18 im not sure if it’ll be relevant but just had a thought when reading your posts - have you heard of foxandthemoon_sleep on insta? I followed her looking for advice when baby G’s sleep started going up the wall, but she posts a lot about feeding/tongue tie/oral exercises too. Her little boy had issues feeding and if I’m remembering rightly she’s now a qualified specialist. Might be worth a look? X

Thank you both! Eldest never really got viral rashes so I'm not used to it, he's definitely got a low level cold virus going on, snotty and coughing, but no temperature and very cheerful so I'm not going to worry.

On a completely different note... It's so lovely having a cuddly baby! My daughter got cuddly once she was about 1, before that she wouldn't really cuddle up and liked her own space, but this boy is such a cuddler! Which is the reason I can't get him out of my bed at night but it's such a short phase of life really and it's so cute 🥰

ahh ok thank you for responding, gosh as if watching them eat isn’t daunting enough sometimes then there are these things to contend with! I will get onto the gp this week. Makes sense about the formula that was the bit that was throwing me off as I knew it has cows milk in it.

My baby girl also has a viral rash, cold and cough 😩 I gave her some calpol then her bedtime milk but she was sick pretty much straight away, am I right in saying I shouldn’t give her anymore calpol even though she was sick soon after she had it?

I never do, because I don’t know how much they took in beforehand. But actually if you scroll up a bit there is a post from @I’mThankyou_ showing how much paracetamol babies can have for their weight. If that is over the standard dosage that you gave your baby, then you could offer the rest now
Eg if your baby usually gets 2.5ml based on age but can have 3.8ml based on weight you could give the other 1.3ml now without worrying about overdose.
