Hey everyone it’s my first post on here since having my baby just over a week ago! I am loving being a mum and I have never loved my partner more watching him with her abs how attentive he is even if he did record me snoring and dribbling this afternoon.
This is such an odd thing to say but has anyone had the feeling when they wake up that they are still holding their baby abs have to looking him or her I know she’s in the cot but it’s like my arm is still holding her x

So glad you’re enjoying it :) and yes! I think I’ve had the same thing as you. I’ve woken up a few times feeling like I’m still holding him and panicking that I fell asleep holding him and then he’s just asleep in the crib next to me.

There really is nothing better than seeing your partner become a dad is there  I definitely woke up a few times in the early days and had a blind panic that I was holding the baby! I remember once I woke up in the early hours of the morning thinking I had fallen asleep with her on my chest and put the duvet over her. I pulled the duvet off the bed to make sure she wasn’t under it but then woke up properly and realised that she was still in her Moses basket🥴

I had this so much. End up waking up in a huge panic looking for the baby! Only to realise she's in her cot!

Yay welcome 🥰 so I’m gonna completely out myself here but I have always slept with a cuddly toy, like I literally spoon it every night. When my baby was first born and he would start crying in the night, I used to wake up in a blind panic that I had fallen to sleep with the baby and squashed him! It really shook me up so slept without the CT for a bit 🤣 I think it must be fairly normal judging on what others have said too

Ah congratulations, so glad it’s all going well for you!!
Haha yes every night - glad it isn’t just me 😂 I always wake up at least once in the night and have a panic that she’s under the duvet even though she’s in her crib

Congratulations! I had this all the time in the early days. I'd think the feeding pillow was him and would pat it, feel it and think it was baby as it slipped down the bed! I also would pat/stroke my other half's back thinking it was baby! There were also many times when I would sit up and ask where he was, with my partner telling me he's in the crib. Think it's just sleep deprivation and adjustign to having another person to look after!

Does anyone have any recommendation for comfy baby leggings? I bought some but the waistbands don’t seem very comfortable for her - trying to upgrade from sleepsuits to leggings and bodysuits for when we leave the house. Got hundreds of cute little dungarees dresses and she gets so uncomfortable in them I end up taking them off, so back to basics we go! (And why on earth does anyone put buttons on the back of baby clothes?!)

Also, she was just feeding and I was watching tv and I noticed she’d come off the boob, looked down and she was just staring at me with the happiest smile on her face, melts my heart 🥺🥺🥺🥺

H&M leggings are great although they have different styles, but I like the ones with the really thick soft waistband that can also be folded over if too big. I'm a massive fan of their baby clothes in general, they're cute and trendy but still comfortable, and so reasonably priced! One of my favourite baby dresses was from there, cost £3.99 not even in the sale and every time she wears it we get comments about how lovely it is.

Ive found Matalan ones to be really comfy for my little girl, the elastic round the waist isn’t too tight and they sit nicely over a vest and nappy. They’re a good price too, I got a 3 pack for £7!

@LilyRose1234 i second the H&M ones, the waist band is very big so doesn’t dig in at all.

@Sw4 H&M summer dresses for girls are only £2.99 for some of them! Biggest bargain ever! (Although I try not to think about the ethics involved 😬)

@Hbirdette i also still sleep with a cuddly ☺

😂 must remember to put secret snacks in my bedside table
If you’re like me they’d all be eaten before the next nap time anyway 🙈🙈

You know if you’d brought a cup of tea up with you the baby wouldn’t have slept for long enough to let you drink it though. Only when they can sense our discomfort do they sleep so soundly 🤣🤣

Thank you everyone for the comments on feeling like the baby is in your bed still I keep. Having it but now I know at least I know it’s normal I thought I was losing my mind! We went to a bike outlet today got loads of new I pretend to go to the gym clothes but really I just wear these to be put together and because I wanted to push the pram… daddy actually took over the pram 😐

So our specialist appt got brought forward today and baby officially has epilepsy. Feeling relieved we know what we are dealing with and hoping as she’s so young that starting medication now may mean she grows out of it.
