Sat in the car on the way to swimming. Baby B hasn’t had a nap and he’s been up since 6. Pray for me 😂😂 he’s not gonna know what’s hit him

Yes with our 3rd we had a few times we got there and she’d fallen asleep in the car so I just sat and watched the others. No crying shame though, I hate swimming!

Good luck! I've always found the after swimming naps are the best it totally zonks them out (in my experience anyway) hopefully it's the same for you and you can have some relax time later! X

Feel like I’m being a bit stupid here... so in terms of weaning. He’s 6 months next week and I’ve started giving it a go. I’ve been doing some puréed veg and then a bit of finger food too. I know the first couple weeks especially is just about baby getting used to different textures and tastes so at his 12pm feed I’ll give him his normal bottle, then about half an hour later I’ve just been putting him in his high chair letting him try the foods. At what point do I get to where I drop that milk feed? And then I’m like.... do I then introduce breakfast and then a couple weeks later dinner? It’s kind of stumbled me and I’m slightly confused 🙈

honestly, milk is easy. 3 nutritional meals and snacks sounds like a minefield 😂 and this is coming from someone who loves food!
We are 2.5 months into weaning and my little one has only just dropped one bottle, the middle of the afternoon one he used to have. We've only just gone onto 3 meals a day as he wasn't really eating much at all and wasn't that interested. Even now it's hit and miss! I know other mums on a facebook group have said they have introduced a 2nd/3rd meal when baby was consistently eating the first really well.

I'm not going to drop any other feeds until he basically refuses the bottle consistently at that time - it's how we dropped one bottle. Dietician we are under said not to worry about dropping bottles and milk is their main source of nutrition until 1 so to just go with baby and what they are doing! It is such a minefield though. I find it hard to judge when to give the solids and then the milk!

The main goal, especially at this age is for them to learn the foods, textures, flavours ect and until 1, milk is still supposed to be their main meal.

So don't worry if they hardly eat anything. You may find some days they'll eat loads and won't want a bottle, and other days they eat next to nothing and most ends up on the floor so they want a bottle 😊

Thank you for the advice on weaning ladies 💗

Swimming was a success! No tears, he just looked completely knackered but still lots of smiles 😊 cause of covid you’re not allowed to use the lockers, stupid really, so that was annoying that I had to bring everything to poolside

You see I'm not breastfeeding. But I'm worried as I'm having major hot sweats at night! Im worried because mum went through early menopause at 40 and I'm 38. Could it be that? Or os it just my hormones.

Glad you and lo enjoyed swimming, I’ve wanted to take mine but don’t feel brave enough yet. Which is really silly as I’m sure it would be fine and lo would love it.
We are 3 weeks into weaning, he currently eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Has dropped 2 bottles of his own accord, so we are on 5x 6oz per 24 hours. So far the food is only puréed. Not sure how or when to introduce more lumpy food.
How are people’s babies sleeping? Mine is 7 months (6 weeks early) and has good and bad nights, I see good as only waking twice- once is generally for a feed, the other time is general complaining and struggling to settle. Bad nights can be waking every hour.

I’ve just this moment noticed that 4mo has a lip tie. It doesn’t affect feeding at all, but does anyone have experience with them? I’m worried it could affect speech later on (although he babbles impressively now)

Taking my baba for his first swimming lesson tomorrow 😭😭😭 must remember to shave my legs 😂
I can’t keep up a lot on here but wanted to say legs are the least of my problems 😂 my mum stayed last night and my ten min treat of self care was to trim my 🐱 hair as postpartum and tangling down below isn’t cute 😂 while OH played COD and went to footy. Lucky mummy eh!!

also, I’ve reached out to a local lactation specialist who can hopefully help me decrease my bubba’s formula and up my BF/milk
Bed day today and lots of on demand feeding x

You should definitely try and do it, all the baby’s were so chilled in the water it was lovely.
sleep-wise we are generally ok. We usually
Have him in bed at 6 and wake at 6 and then probably a couple
Of times a week he wakes at about 3am for a feed. Daytime he very rarely takes more than 45 mins a nap and has 3 of those a day. He’s dropped his nap at 4pm so he’s usually awake from about 2pm and by 5.30 he’s FLAGGING, makes me wonder how he will be when I go back to work 🙈

Your so lucky with sleep. Mine doesn’t seem to know what it is. He wakes at 7.15 on the dot everyday, will have 20 mins at 10.30, then 50 mins about 3/4pm, followed by 20 mins at 6. He won’t go down for the night until 7.30/8 p. Then as I said wakes numerous times.
Did you go to a swim class specifically for babies or a general swim session?

I know, I don’t know whether it’s because we had a very set routine from about 8 weeks but I do feel
Very lucky.
we booked onto water babies swimming lessons, I believe they are a national franchise

Sorry if Tmi - My boobs have been getting a bit sore and when I touch or squeeze my nipples, there's like watery milk coming out (sometimes shoots out haha). Is this normal for 4m PP? I stopped expressing after a few weeks due to an infection and my milk completely dried up

I believe a lot of people still produce small amounts of milk long after they finish feeding. If they are sore though keep an eye that you aren’t developing mastitis

My baby was 8 months on the 29th and a good night for us is waking once/twice..he's been really up and down recently, last night woke 3 times, night before just once. So hit and miss. Desperate for him to start sleeping through! He naps great in the day though.

Finally after a week long battle with the GP they've agreed to prescribe liquid Omeprazole rather than a dissolvable tablet (that doesn't actually dissolve properly!) Hopefully this will help with LO's silent reflux. I'm not surprised they didn't want to prescribe the liquid though... £197 for 75ml 🤯
