Oh wow, that’s really interesting to know about the night time thing. Thank you. Did the Omeprazole get rid of it completely? We have been prescribed infant gaviscon so hoping that helps but a bit worried as a lot of people have told me it causes constipation!
We had gaviscon first and it didn't help, it just constipated him so we stopped. They will want you to try it for a while before moving you on, which was our experience anyway. Omeprazole definitely helped, the biggest change was when he went onto dairy free formula so we suspect the reflux was actually being caused predominately by an allergy. He is still on omeprazole but a small dose based on his weight, he's been poorly recently and teething so we are waiting to cut the dose completely to see if he can manage without it now. Are you putting the gaviscon in every bottle? We did every other bottle and none at night apart from his 4am bottle.

Can I ask who you spoke to have the debrief? I’m really keen to speak to the people involved in my birth too but just haven’t felt ready until now. It’s nice to hear someone has had a good experience having one, apart from the fact you had to relive everything again, but it’s proof that talking about these things can help!
Have a look on your hospital website at my hospital online it's called birth reflections it's also on the front of my red book given by the HV, your HV might know the contacts aswel xx

Thank you for your replies regarding baby boys gunky eye. I rang 111 who basically said there was nothing they could do. So I rang the GP Monday morning and sent photos. They said it's conjunctivitis and he's been given an ointment. It's clearing up thankfully. However I had the health visitor come today and she left saying he was fine, then left me a voicemail 2 hours later saying she had thought about it and wasn't happy with his jaundice or the fact he hasn't put on weight in 48 hours since last being weighed on Tuesday. So we've been referred back to the midwifes tomorrow for an emergency appointment.

I feel so drained by it all. Each person I've seen has told me different things. I can feel my mood plummeting because it feels relentless. I'm so annoyed because she left our house saying she had no concerns and then suddenly there's an issue that needs escalating 2 hours later.

I'm sorry to come back on the thread to moan, having been absent for a few days but I don't really know what else to do. I need to write it down somewhere and I've chosen here, sorry!

Does anyone have any experience not jaundice? Baby boy is 2 weeks today and I'm too scared to Google... X
Have they done any blood tests for the jaundice? My little one had it and they did bloods a few times over the course of a few days, her levels improved so she didn’t need to go under the lamps.

Does anyone have any bouncer recommendations? Bought one of those ridiculous 4moms and she screams every time I put her in it 🙄😂 not sure whether to persevere as she’s still so young she might just not enjoy it yet or whether it’s the bouncer she doesn’t like!

Hi I'm jumping on here having read a few of these posts but not all.

I'm nearly 6 weeks post csection delivery of my beautiful baby (first time mum). Recovery has been pretty good and tbh I've felt strong to do most things for a couple of weeks now but I've stopped myself. However this means I've been really reliant on my husband for lots of things to the point where I think I've become a bit too dependent.

From next week I want to start doing more things just myself and baby such as walks, meeting people for coffee and being able to finally drive! However I'm getting a lot of anxiety around this and I already feel like in these last couple of weeks since my husband went back to work I've been stuck in a rut of being cooped up in the house just sitting in front of the TV watching junk and looking after baby. I don't want this rut to continue but equally I'm really anxious about everything. Any tips? Hoping to start with a short walk every day and build from there but even that is making me a bit nervous 😓
I’ve felt exactly the same as you post section and still do at 10 weeks, the thought of going out with a screaming baby fills me with such dread, but I’m trying to push myself. The first month is a complete blur now but I was so depressed as felt I was couch bound and was gonna be forever with a baby attached to me!

Daily evening walks with my partner after he finished work helped. I’ve also been slowly going back to the gym with my partner looking after baby which has helped me feel myself again and not just mum 24/7.

I also looked into local children’s groups and been to a couple of mother and baby sessions. This would usually be my idea of hell, forced socialising but it got me out and helped break the monotony of my day/week. Give the app Peanut ago too, I met someone last week and wasn’t awkward at all. It was nice meeting another ftm with a kid of similar age.

Today I also met with another mum who posted on a local mum group on Facebook asking if there are any mums who want to go for a walk together. Maybe you could look there too or make a post to see if anyone would like to join you? I never knew I could be such a social butterfly 😂 but it really helps to get out.

My next thing is to tackle public transport as that’s my biggest fear right now!!

Can someone remind me of the difference between teat flows? Am now expressing as well and have switched to Mam but accidentally bought 2+ months with a teat 2 flow. She’s only 6 weeks so not quite there yet
We are still on mam teat size 2 at 7 months as we found the size 3 ridicilously fast - he is on very thin milk so it was literally pouring into his mouth and he couldn't keep up. I think we swapped to size 2 at about 3.5 months. You'll know very quickly if she can keep up or not!

Hi everyone I am currently in the madness of looking after my just turned 3year old daughter and my 3 month old son! Hope everyone is having a good day! I try to keep up with this thread when I can even though I don't post much. Has anyone gone through the hair loss stage yet ? A few weeks ago my hair started falling out so badly and its still an issue. I know it's down to hormones and all natural but still so scary to see. Just wondering if there are any suggestions of vitamins maybe or something that might help my hair become healthier again?
I have a 3 year old and 3 month old too. Well, nearly 4 month old!

A lot of people recommend body shops ginger shampoo. In my mind it won't work because your hairs bulked up and thickened during pregnancy from hormones and once those hormones have gone, it has to come out 😂

Thank you! He is better, still using saline drops before feeds. It really helps. Also a snot sucker is the best thing invented!
Lots of viral infections going around atm 🥺 xx

Anyone with older ones, should I get a cot or a cot bed? I’ve no idea what age they grow into a single bed or even if they go straight from cot?
Don’t want to spend extra on a cot bed if they’re crap but don’t want to be buying a new bed solution, mattress, sheets etc every 6 months either.
Any thoughts welcome please.

Sorry to be gross here, we’re all mummies here so I’m sure you’re all used to that by now but I Just finished my 3rd period since baby (31 days late 😭)
It was so so heavy, I leaked on my sofa twice even though I changed my pad & tampon every 1 hour.
I do have stage 3 endometriosis so always have had very heavy periods so I’m used to it but this is just something else.
I had clots coming out the size of strawberries! Is this normal?? To be so late & have such a heavy one?

We have been doing the same and putting it in every other bottle during the day and then 4/5am bottle. It’s definitely not helping yet, in fact she seems to be even worse and trying to feed her is just a nightmare. It’s so hard but just keep reminding myself that it will get better eventually! I’m tempted to call the GP again tomorrow but I know they’ll just tell me we haven’t tried the gaviscon for long enough :(

Ahh remember the other day I was saying about taking spare clothes for yourself when you travel with a baby?

Guess who forgot her spare clothes today?

Guess who got vommed on 10 minutes in to the plane journey?!

🙄🙄🙄
oh no! Were you at least flying somewhere nice?

Might be a stupid question but got 8 week jabs coming up soon and want to put baby in an outfit that I don't have to faff around with afterwards when I'm sure there'll be tears. How far up the thigh are the jabs given? Can I just put baby in loose short dungarees so the fabric can just be pushed up rather than having to take anything off? Also any other tips? Got infant calpol at the ready.
It’s quite high up. I’ve taken mine in leggings and just pulled them down, not had to take them off fully.

Does anyone have any experience with silent reflux? I’m convinced my daughter has it, spoke to the doctor this morning who seemed reluctant to agree and asked me to take her to be weighed to see if she’s lost weight but if it’s silent reflux I’ve read that babies don’t usually lose weight as they’re not being sick!
Oh I feel for you. What makes you think it’s silent reflux?

Does anybody have any recommendations on baby carriers? We had the ergo baby embrace which I loved but baby is too heavy for it now (11kg) so looking to upgrade. We thought we’d managed without one but we love walking in the Peak District and there’s only so many pram friendly walks I can repeat 😂

I’ve been looking at the ergo baby omni 360 carrier, but if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great so I can compare ☺

Has anyone let their baby sleep on their front/side before they can roll? Baby girl is a month old now and still will only really sleep on me (which is fine, love the snugs) but I’ve managed to master feeding her lying down and she’ll fall asleep on her side. If I roll her onto her back she wriggles and doesn’t like it, but if she stays on her side she’s fine! I keep the pillows out the way and the duvet down at waist height and lie with my arm under my head so I can’t roll, but I’m still paranoid about sids with her like this 😬

Thanks ladies.

I will head out tomorrow and get a mam bottle and try that as well. We had some of the mini aptamils that came with the teats but she won’t even attempt to take it 😭

Unfortunately she hates dummies and wouldn’t take one from day 1, and would literally gag on it and seems to be having the same reaction to the bottle now

Hopefully it is just a short phase.

I just can’t imagine it being issue with the milk eg allergy etc.. as she has been absolutely fine from day 1, whatever temp etc

babies literally have one job and that’s to drink milk so its very worrying she won’t take it 😭
My daughter also did the same with the tommee tippee dummies.
She still doesn't take one great now but she hated the tommee ones!

Dont! We’ve just bought another car seat but it’s great and I’m after one of those “foamy floor things” as you call it 😂 totter and tumble do some lovely ones but jeeeeeze they’re pricey
We also have a totter and tumble mat and love it, it's probably one of our best buys. It looks great too! Comfy for us down on the floor playing with baby as well. We got us a discount code that gave us about £20 off I think. I think they're well worth the money! We went for the compact size one as we are in a flat.

I always offer her both, but quite often (especially in the night/early hours) she doesn’t want it and stops after one side because she’s sleepy. Will try those tips and will see if I can persevere to get her to take both sides to help as well! Thank you 💕
Have you tried a few different holds on the side she won’t feed from? when No4 arrived he was having trouble feeding on the left, so I held him in rugby ball position and it definitely helped, I like to think it fooled him in to thinking it was the right 🤣
How old is baby now? Sometimes difficulty feeding on one side (a sustained difficulty) can be linked to torticollis, have you noticed any other signs of that?
