10 months old today 😭😭😭😭 I told him yesterday he can stay this age forever. Every time I’m snuggling him I feel so sad I’ll never have another baby, so pretty sure I’ll be forcing him to breastfeed and cosleep until he’s moving out 🤣 “come on baby! Time for boobies!” “Mum please, I’m going out with my mates, leave me alone”

6 months on Saturday! It is actually crazy how that happens. I feel like the first 4 months felt quite long and then these last 2 have been a blur. Have been pregnant and poorly though so that might be why.

10 weeks on Wednesday 😭

She also appears to have turned into a bottomless pit, she’s been draining 6oz bottles for a couple of days so I’ve made todays up to 7oz and she’s drained the first one in record time 😵💫 don’t know where she’s putting it as she’s not pooed for a few days

It's crazy!
My sister's friend's baby turns 1 on the 20th March. And I said oh, she's nearly 1, so she's quite a bit older than Everleigh then. And my sister was like... Quite a bit older? She's not even 3 weeks older.

😫😫

My husband said yesterday it’ll be Alex’s birthday soon enough, and I was just like nope, no thanks! He’s not having a birthday, then he won’t get older 👌🏻👌🏻

Ivy is 4 on Thursday and I just can't deal with it 😂
4 is so much older than 3, isn’t it? Like 3 is still a bit of a toddler, and 4 is the age my kids are when they start school 🤯 just don’t let her have her birthday 👍🏻 That’s the way forward

Finn will start school about a week after he turns 4. I know he won’t be little cause he’s a tall bean but he’ll be so young still. I think though I’d prefer it over being nearly 5 when he started if he was born like September 2nd but I think when he actually starts school I’ll be a wreck.

Abi is super tall too, I’m already dreading people/teachers thinking she’s older and expecting more from her! Like why is that 3 year old in nappies.. erm she’s 1 🥺 she’s the same size as my one year old niece! We held Abi up beside her yesterday

I think it depends so much on the child, I never once worried about my eldest starting school or preschool as she was so delighted to go. She was (is) shy and not overly confident with strangers, but she was never hesitant at all about going. Whereas my second was a different story, I worried so much about him (rightly, he found it hard). And my eldest is young for year, my second is old for year, so I don’t put much stock in their age when they start tbh.

6 weeks on Tuesday! Absolute madness! Cannot believe how fast that’s gone. Isn’t it insane how long the last few weeks of pregnancy can feel but the first few months of having a baby absolutely fly 😭💔

Knowing he may well be my last (especially after this recovery!) is just wahhhhh 💔💔💔 trying to savour every second of his gorgeous smush.

that is the way forward!! Baby yoda will really only be ten months when she turns one, that’ll be weird as she’ll be still small.

because baby yoda is now an August born when she should have been October I might see how she is developmentally and delay her school start to the September she should have really been starting. If she can keep up with her corrected age I won’t be I wouldn’t want to have her start school when she might still be like a three year old.

It’s insane how quickly time goes when you have a baby. The weeks/months are rolling by!

Feeling so frustrated and lost with feeding, so desperately wanted to breastfeed but we’ve really struggled.
I had an elective section (I have past PTSD from an assault that also caused vaginismus) and had the worst experience on the maternity ward the day after, they basically rushed me out and filled in my discharge paperwork wrong meaning I didn’t get the support I was meant to from the breastfeeding team.
I pushed for support with breastfeeding and annoyingly only got it when my partner called. Aoife was diagnosed with a posterior tongue tie at 2 weeks which we had snipped, breastfeeding support continued and they discharged me because they said she had a good latch (on one boob, with a shield). We’ve been supplementing with formula the whole way through.
Then she started with reflux, health visitor advised we saw the GP, the first one was useless and the second one gave us carobel and gaviscon to use in conjunction. He also told me to just express milk, and that you “can’t treat reflux in breastfed babies” which I know is wrong but I’m still struggling anyway.
My health visitor asked another breastfeeding specialist to come visit as Aoife had lost 3oz, she then told us that you should NEVER use gaviscon and carobel together. Frustrating as that’s what the doctor had prescribed and seemed to be helping, but now I don’t want to. She also said she still has her tongue tie and will re-apply for it to be snipped, but our hospital will only do them before 6 weeks and she’ll be 5 weeks on Monday and the lady that does them is off!
Also then got a phone call later saying she wants to send her for a late jaundice blood test, even though she isn’t showing any signs, and my midwife and health visitor have said her jaundice is gone.
I just don’t know what to do, I don’t want her to be in pain and just want her to be okay. ☹

So sorry I was massively let down by hospitals and health visitors.
I don’t think any of them have a clue.
If you want to BF ask for omeprazole for reflux as it doesn’t need to go in to a bottle.
Before that I was in gaviscon and they said carobel too to me but I didn’t use it. Talk about conflicting advice.
I was supposed to be contacted by the infant feeding team and no one contacted me. It’s just a shower of tit after care. Health visitors put so much stress on you and it isnt fair.
tongue ties can reattach I believe. But the snipping before 6 weeks is a load of tit as mine was 13 weeks when hers was done. (Privately).
i feel your pain I went through so much stress feeding mine and things are still far from perfect. X

So sorry to hear about the lack of support and wrong advice you’ve received. 😔 how frustrating!! Bad enough when you’ve suffered PTSD in the past and probably need that but extra support and understanding from so called professionals.

how’s your supply? If supply needs to be boosted lots of skin on skin. Let baby cluster feed (as exhausting as that is) make sure someone can bring to snacks and drinks whilst you get cosy with baby watching films or series and just let that baby feed.

it could still be the latch especially if baby still needs nipple shield. Really they should support you weaning baby off it. My baby is BF and has had tongue tie (she also has a very small mouth). As soon as TT was cut we could ditch the nipple shields but because her mouth is small her latch is still not the best.

there’s an Instagram account about retraining the tongue after TT I’ll try and find it and link it on here. After TT is cut doesn’t mean problem automatically goes away.

this could deffo be causing her reflux. We were gaviscon too but I ditched it. She wouldn’t take a small bottle of expressed milk and I didn’t want to constipate her little gut. We went on omeprazole which helped the most and could give in liquid form via syringe.

are there any local BF groups who can come and support for example I live in Lancashire so we have the FAB team who can come out and support and there’s Facebook groups.

sending lots of love x x

Oh I’m so glad it’s not just me who’s found after care tit. I had quite a few episodes of reduced movement and then got covid towards the end and I couldn’t stop singing the hospitals praises, they couldn’t do enough for me when I was pregnant. I feel like as soon as I’ve had her nobody cares anymore, I even spoke to my midwife about how rubbish I’ve been feeling and my mental health and she discharged me and set up a call with a mental health nurse which was then cancelled and now isn’t until the end of March!
I want to breastfeed but her latch is dire and my nipples end up blistered and bleeding so I’m mostly expressing and using formula and she goes on the boob a few times a day with a shield, but really it’s more of a comfort than a feed.
I naively just assumed I’d be able to breastfeed and knew it would take some work but I’m 5 weeks in now and it’s still awful!

It’s been awful! I feel like I can’t get anyone to listen or help without it having a domino effect. I’ve spent so much time glued to my phone googling stuff.
My supply isn’t terrible, I express with a pump a few times a day and make 2/3 120ml bottles. Not enough to not have to have formula too though. She goes on the boob a few times a day but it’s more a cuddle/comfort than a feed.
Omeprazole sounds a good way to go then, I’ll try and contact the GP again and see if they’ll give us that.
Its all so frustrating!
