I've never loved my name either and have very seriously considered changing it. It's a short and ordinary traditional name that I think is just "meh", but at least I didn't get saddled with Chelsea, Cheryl or Wendy!! 🤣🤣🤣
I did for a long time but my family were not impressed 😂 and everyone tells me it suits me which makes it worse!

I love my name, its common in other countries & communities but overall, not heard that much. I was going to be called Sabrina if my mum had her way 🤮

We all have different tastes..I dislike veronica, lynsey, Neil, margaret, Sharon, Tracey, Laila, Kelly, there are more these names because I either don't like how they sound or I know too many mats with those names!

Are people really going about angry facing posts like mine they don’t agree with 🤣🤣 lighten up most of my families names are on here and my daughters name is ‘Lillie’ definitely not a lot of people’s cup of tea! But so what! 🤦🏼‍♀️

I told my parents several times I hated my name when I was a child and I didn't hold back - feel like a witch now I'm middle aged and have more sensitivity to others' feelings! My parents both died a few years ago and I have given serious thought to changing my name since, but feel disloyal to their memory. I don't have a middle name (neither do my brother or sister) otherwise that might have been an option.

Haha so true 😂😂My child’s called Jayden I don’t take it to heart 😂! It was lovely back then and he suits its and I’m not ‘rough’ or ‘common’ like people seem to assume those with kids called jayden are like that 😂

Oooo controversial ! Can I ask why you don’t like Rosie? (Don’t worry not offended not everyone has the same taste I’ve just never heard of anyone not liking it and have never thought of it as chavvy!

Ava! Such a pretty name but so overused I don’t know how anybody can now name their baby ava knowing it is going to be one of 10 in their class
It just reminds me of Rosie & Jim 🤣 I don’t find it chavy at all. I just don’t like the name one little bit 😂 never have!

I can't lie I deep down want to slap the people that have said my kids names 😂😂😂
Same 😂😂😂😂😂😩

I hate my name. I cringe when I tell people my name. It’s not exactly a bad name i just hate the way it sounds, often I shorten it but even that I’m not a fan of. Not sure if other people get this with their own name? Could be worse though, the other name choice for me was much worse and very 80’s (90’s kid).

I’m not a fan of names that end with ‘den’ so like Kayden, Jayden etc.

I don’t like [name]-May/Mae. It’s just everywhere now. Yes May goes with a lot of names but it’s just boring to me.

And names with weird spellings that are unnecessary. ‘Ayprill’ instead of ‘April’ for example.

Agree about not taking other people’s opinions on names personally. Of course we’re all going to have different tastes when it comes to names and that’s ok. Not read the thread but wouldn’t be surprised if my kids names were mentioned at some point🤣

Jayden
Mason
Tyler
Leanne
Any Disney inspired names such as Aurora
Rita
Terry
Nikki
Lindsey
When people abbreviate names such as Liz for Elizabeth.
Yeah I really dislike Aurora, I know some who called her daughter that!

Thankfully my name hasn't popped up yet :ROFLMAO: probably only a matter of time.

For me it's names like Reginald, Horace, Magnus - conjures up images of large, balding, old stuffy men.
Horace was my granddads names he died in 1999, I haven’t heard this names in recent times

I can’t say Pearl either. My accent just makes it sound like I’m saying “Pero.” 🤣

I grew up with a lot of Aidan’s it’s proberly just because it’s common! I think when people hear names a lot they become disliked, everyone will always have different tastes in name 😊

Eunice, Gertrude, Bertha, Helga, Olga, Brunhilda (lol), Prudence, Sue, Myrtle, Peggie, Dorris, Norma, Maudine, Judithe, Colette, Evangeline, Deborah, Bernice, Larissa all just sound really weird and old-ladyish to me. I distinctly remember a story in the news a few years ago about a woman who was mocked for naming her child ‘Abcde’. Like what do you expect if you give your child such a ridiculous name?

My name has been on here multiple times for being way too common but hey I’d much prefer a common name than being called something like Marvelous or Olive or Tuppence or Abcde!

Don’t think my name has come up yet but even if it did, I don’t care. I don’t particularly like my name anyway, but I didn’t choose it. My kids may well grow up to hate the names their dad and I gave them and people here might not like them either. I don’t take offense. Different strokes for different folks.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned before but there’s a mummy blogger who called her child Rosie-Peggy, never shortens it to Rosie, always uses the full name.

It makes my teeth itch

well one daughter has come up but me and the other haven't as yet - well mine has but only a complaint about a different spelling. Phew ;)
