I can’t stand my own name 🤣 my dad wanted to call me the female version of his name so when shortened we had the same name. They compromised and I go my name. Absolutely hate it! Was suppose to be Katie, wish I was.

I know a Sarah-Jane who changed to Sara-jayne...
Oh the whole Sarah/Sara thing infuriates me.

I am a Sarah and there was a girl in my class called Sara despite her claiming we did, we do not have the same name 😤

I also know a Jenny who’s now Jeni

Hate- Lexi, Isla, iris, Erin, Freya, Imogen and
Finley, Flynn, Conner 🤢 Sophia is the worst.. I knew about 5 people that all had a Sophia in the space of a month 🤢

Olivier, Olivia, Lily, Isabella etc any name that’s In the top 5 and common.
Used to work with children so dislike these because of naughty children!

I know someone who has a Freyja, pronounced the same as Freya. In my head whenever I see it I say frey-ja, don’t see the point.

I’m not keen on names that sound like pets Rex, Milo, Buster, Buddy etc

Also know so many babies/toddlers called Jacob I’m sick of hearing it.

I hate the spellings Nikki and Vikki instead of Nicky and Vicky. So spiky and weird.

Also names that have a "nice" meaning, but are horrible sounds. Grace. Hope. Poppy.

I haven’t read the whole thread but I saw it mentioned earlier on... my worst name ever is NATHANIEL!

A lot of the names mentioned are nice but just overused. I don’t have kids but I can imagine it’s hard to find a name that’s not too overused, not too boring, not too whacky, not chavvy... etc!

When you read and inevitably see your kids names 😂 and realise you're an unoriginal cav😉😛

My bug bearer is the abbreviated names, why call your child Charles but never use it and revert to Charlie, just use charlie from the start, also the same with Alexander, then always use Alex. If you have the intention of abbreviating it then use it from birth.

I personally don't like the name Pearl. As a non native English speaker I can't pronounce the ea and rl sound well and then it just sounds like Peel.
Also it starts making me wonder about the ethicality of pearl farming and ends me up on a 2 hour long Google search because I can't let it go.
Just don't name children after inanimate objects. But will be low key disappointed if nobody is going to name their kid Corona this year. Connie for short?
I hate it too. Its an awful sound

I've never loved my name either and have very seriously considered changing it. It's a short and ordinary traditional name that I think is just "meh", but at least I didn't get saddled with Chelsea, Cheryl or Wendy!! 🤣🤣🤣
