Nothing against any first name a parent likes but why would you call your child a variation on your surname? My child went to school with a Jonathan Johnson and I lived in the same street as a Richard Richardson. Why? There are thousands of first names out there. Don’t get it.

I’m not a fan of surname-names either. I know a couple of Coopers, a Spencer and a Fletcher.
My grandmother went to school with a Clark Clarke and knew sisters named Pearl and Ruby Diamond
Reminds me: my great grandparents were called Pearl & Dean. Names of which were used on old cinema advertising trailers back in the 60s I think

He did want Isambard which was a hard no from me.When I'm pregnant I go a bit extra with my names, must be the hornones. With my first I was adament I wanted the name Star, husband intervened. But with my second I met a woman with a daughter names Pepper and I bloody loved it. Again husband intervened. I also wanted the name Tiger if I had a boy. I think husband would have divorced my if I'd pushed for that. All my children now have relatively normal names thankfully
I kinda can’t stand when people name their kids and dogs after brands or cars e.g Chanel, Dolce, Dior, Mercedes, Givenchy etc you get the gist ....gosh i find it so tacky it’s uncomfortable 
I think tho Mercedes is originally an old time Spanish name? Idk guys my geography & history isn’t a knowledgeable component for me

My parents had friends with a boy called Branch and a girl called Brooke. I guess you could shorten the first one to Bran. Brooke is fairly uncommon here.
My children’s school have a Beyoncé-Honey and a Sapphire
